융모양막염의 진단에 있어서 C-Reactive Protein의 의의에 관한 임상적 연구

Chorioamnionitis occurs about 10% in patient with premature rupture of membrane. It can cause severe complications to mother and fetus. So, early detection and proper treatment is the best way to protect mother and fetus from complications. We studied the role of the C-reactive Protein in early detection of the chorioamnionitis in patients with Premature rupture of membrane. 89 cases with ruptured membrane and 46 cases with intact emembrane wer taken and analyzed. The results were as follows: 1. There was no significant difference in demographic characteristics between PROM and control group(age, gestational age, gravity, parity). 2. Positive CRP rate was significantly higher in PROM group (43.8%) than control group (17.4). 3. The sensitivity, speicificity, positive predictive value of the CRP test was higher in comparision with other laboratory tests such as WBC count, differential count, and Ery-throcyte sedimentation rate. 4. CRP level was correlated with severity of histological chorioamnionitis. 5. CRP level was correlated with the duration of ruptured time in PROM group. 6. Caesarean section rate was higher in PROM group (39.3%) than control group (21.7%).

Objectives: Low-dose aspirin therapy is recommended as prophylaxis in women at high risk for preeclampsia. This study made to determine whether low-dose aspirin reduces the number of women who develope to severe preeclampsia, and whether it reduces perinatal mortality and improves birth weights in pregnant women who develope the symptom and sign of the mild preeclampsia. Methods: Ninety-four patients were recruited from the antenatal clinics at Gil medical center with mid preeclampsia at 28 to 36 weeks gestation and were randomized to receive either 60㎎ of aspirin or none. Results: The mean blood pressure values [systolic 153.13±1 vs 150.65±1 mmHg, diastolic 101.67±7 vs 99.78±8 mmHg], the rates of development of severe preeclampsia [37.5% vs 34.8%], the gestational ages at delivery [36.0±2.7 vs 36.7±2.1 weeks], newborn body weights [2311±733 vs 2415±505 gm], 5-minute Apgar scores [8.1±2 vs 8.2±2], and fetal growth retardation[41.7% vs 41.3%] were similar in the low-dose aspirin treated and the control groups. Conclusions: We conclude that low-dose aspirin is not curative in reducing development of severe preeclampsia and in lowering fetal growth retardation, but it is essential to a preventive treatment for high risk patients which, in order to be effective, should be started weeks before clinical signs of preeclampsia are present.

<P>Although seven proteins unique to U12 intron-specific minor spliceosomes, denoted as U11/U12-65K, -59K, -48K, -35K, -31K, -25K, and -20K, have been identified in humans and the roles of some of them have been demonstrated, the functional role of most of these proteins in plants is not understood. A recent study demonstrated that Arabidopsis U11/U12-65K is essential for U12 intron splicing and normal plant development. However, the structural features and sequence motifs important for 65 K binding to U12 snRNA and other spliceosomal proteins remain unclear. Here, we demonstrated by domain-deletion analysis that the C-terminal region of the 65 K protein bound specifically to the stem-loop III of U12 snRNA, whereas the N-terminal region of the 65 K protein was responsible for interacting with the 59 K protein. Analysis of the interactions between each snRNP protein using yeast two-hybrid analysis and in planta bimolecular fluorescence complementation and luciferase complementation imaging assays demonstrated that the core interactions among the 65 K, 59 K, and 48 K proteins were conserved between plants and animals, and multiple interactions were observed among the U11/U12-snRNP proteins. Taken together, these results reveal that U11/U12-65K is an indispensible component of the minor spliceosome complex by binding to both U11/U12-59K and U12 snRNA, and that multiple interactions among the U11/U12-snRNP proteins are necessary for minor spliceosome assembly.</P>
임상적 및 생화학적 위험인자를 이용한 포상기태 임신의 임상적 분류

Forty nine cases (spontaneous remission 25, persistent gestational trophoblastic tumor 24) of untreated hydatidiform mole who were registered at Korean Research Institute of Trophoblastic Disease (KRI-TRD) in Catholic University Medical College were evaluated regarding clinical and biochemical risk factors such as -hCG, SP1, SP1/ -hCG(%), PP10, human placental lactogen, prolactin, and steroid hormones. And then, all factors were analyzed for measuring degree of discrimination used with Stepwise Discriminant Analysis through SPSS computer program. The results were as follows; 1. In comparison of clinical factors, parity and uterine size and weeks difference were different significantly(P<0.05)in student-test.

Excessive water stress can cause severe damage to sorghum and results in significant yield reduction. The aim of this study is to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) for excessive water stress in sorghum. As a first step, two out of 21 bmr mutants were selected for their superior agronomic performance and Chlorophyll a fluorescence OJIP transient, and were crossed with an elite Korean cultivar, Hwangkeumchal, to construct mapping populations. One hundred ten out of 236 SSR primers showed polymorphism between two parens, which cover ten chromosomes of sorghum from different published SSR linkage maps of sorghum. Development of recombinant inbred lines from the crosses ‘25M2-0698 x Hwangkeumchal’ and ‘25M2-0404 x Hwangkeumchal’ are in progress using the single seed descendent method for generation acceleration.

Grain sorghum is the fifth most important crop grown in the world for either a major food crop or animal feed. It is important to identify the genetic diversity of sorghum genetic resources for cultivar development and evaluation of sorghum accessions in Korea. Two hundred thirty six SSR primer sets, which are evely distributed across the sorghum genome, were used to assess the genetic variation of 23 sorghum accessions with a US cultivar, BTx623. Results showed that SSR markers were highly polymorphic among the sorghum collections and the average alleles per locus were 3.15 with the average of 0.436 PIC (polymorphism information content) values. The sorghum accessions in this study were unequally separated and were clustered into 4 groups. The results showed that there was a sufficient SSR polymorphism with SSR primers used among Korean sorghum accessions, and the development of genetic map and marker-assisted selection for cultivated sorghum would be feasible with further studies.
