It was carried out the genetic study for the leaf blast resistance using the six rice varieties. In diallel cross analysis, the gene action for the resistance appeared that additive effects were more prevalent than dominance effects. The narrow and broad sence heritabilities for the resistance estimated in the F₂ generations were very high (above 0.8).

Seven parent varieties and 21 F₁ hybrids from 7×7 partial diallel crosses were used as the materials, and genetic studies were carried out to obtain basic information of days to heading in rice breeding. Positive or negative heterosis were observed depending upon F₁ combinations. Average percentage of heterosis was shown in positive values, while average percentage of heterobeltiosis shown in negative values. Mean square values of General Combining Ability (GCA) were more greater than those of Specific Combining Ability (SCA) and the effects of GCA and SCA were differ from parent varieties and F₁ combinations. In the analysis of variance, the gene action of days to heading revealed that additive effects were more prevalent than dominance effects. In the analysis of parent-offspring covariance (Wr) and array variance (Vr), days to heading was exhibited by partial dominance. Kueiluai 8, Milyang 23 and Hsiangai-tsao 9 appeared to have many recessive genes of days to heading and this results were demonstrated in the standardized deviation graph. The degree of dominance on days to heading appeared to partial dominance with additive effects, and estimated heritabilities in the narrow sense as well as in the broad sense were very high (above 0.8) in F₁ generation.
벼 葯培養에어서 Callus 生育程度가 器管分化에 미치는 影響

Distribution of callus induction after anther inoculation and effect of callus age on plant differentiation were studied for improvment of culture efficiency in rice anther culture in vitro. N6 basic medium supplemented with 2㎎/ℓ of NAA and 1㎎/ℓ of kinetin used for callus induction, 0.1㎎/ℓ of IAA and 1㎎/ℓ of kinetin for plant differentiation. Varietal difference in callus induction was recognized, and the frequency of callus induction showed 86% from 20 days to 40 days after anther inoculation. This tendency also exists in F1 hybrids. The frequency of green plant differentiation was high at callus age with 11-20 days from callus induction to callus transplanting. Albino appeared at callus age with 21-40 days. The frequency of green plant differentiation showed 77% within 10 days after callus transplanting, but albino showed 71% within 20 days after callus transplanting.
