We have investigated the effect of oxygen partial pressure and annealing on nanocrystalline p-type Sb-doped ZnO thin films, grown by pulsed laser deposition, with hole concentration of 6.5 ×1018/cm3and mobility of 53 cm2/V-s. Uses of higher working pressure or annealing are found to reduce carrier concentration. A strong correlation is observed between carrier concentration and the violet (3.02 eV)emission related to free Zn-vacancy; stronger the violet emission, smaller the carrier concentration. In contrast to earlier suggestion of using higher oxygen pressure for obtaining p-type conductivity, the present results show a deterioration of the quality of film. Manipulators are helpful in performing various hazardous tasks like sanitization with chemicals in germs infected areas, spraying pesticides in fields, pick and place of heavy and hazardous materials where direct human intervention is difficult. For manipulators to perform its assigned task accurately, prior estimation of its pose needs to be pinpointed. End-effector grasping and arm manipulation require estimation of 3D object poses. Recently, a number of procedures and databases for vision-based estimation of object pose have been advised. However, it is not clear about the performance of the developed algorithms for visual pose estimation of robot manipulation. In this paper we present the pose estimation of a 5-dof PhantomX Reactor Arm using On-Body/Aruco Markers. Forward and inverse kinematics were used to estimate the pose from the position coordinates calculated using computer vision techniques. This paper implements an approach aimed at estimating the pose of a camera, affixed to a robotic manipulator, against a target object. We adopt a single camera single-shot technique that minimizes the reprojection error over all the rigid poses. The simulation and experimental results using industrial monocular camera for different sizes of On-body markers were presented.

<P>We report the near-edge x-ray absorption spectroscopy (NEXAFS) at the Co/Mn L-3,L-2 edge and oxygen K edge of the well-characterized Bi-substituted Co2MnO4 multiferroic samples. The evolution of peak features in NEXAFS spectra of the Co/Mn L-3,L-2 edge and O K edge show the Bi-induced redistribution of magnetic cations (Co/Mn). The variation in valence states of Co and Mn in all the substituted compositions is consistent with the observed ferrimagnetic behaviour of the samples. Magnetization data show the decrease in molecular field complementing the ferrimagnetism. The role of Bi in the enhancement of magnetic interactions as well as the appearance of ferroelectricity in BixCo2-xMnO4 (0 <= x <= 0.3) is discussed.</P>

We report on the element-specific magnetic characterization of Ni nanoparticles (NPs) embedded in Al<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>3</SUB> (001) matrix prepared by ion-implantation (Ni:5x10<SUP>16</SUP>-2x10<SUP>17</SUP>ionscm<SUP>-2</SUP>) technique. The X-ray diffraction studies reveal the coexistence of fcc Ni NPs of average size ~8-19nm along with the other NiO<SUB>x</SUB> phases. X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) experiments demonstrate the competing nature of magnetic interactions between the Ni NPs and NiO<SUB>x</SUB> phases. The ferromagnetism at 10K (for all the Ni implants) is related to the combined contribution of both phases, while the room temperature superparamagnetism at higher fluence is dominated by Ni NPs phase as confirmed by Ni L<SUB>3,2</SUB> XMCD measurements.

<P>If they could be easily exfoliated, layered materials would become a diverse source of two-dimensional crystals whose properties would be useful in applications ranging from electronics to energy storage. We show that layered compounds such as MoS(2), WS(2), MoSe(2), MoTe(2), TaSe(2), NbSe(2), NiTe(2), BN, and Bi(2)Te(3) can be efficiently dispersed in common solvents and can be deposited as individual flakes or formed into films. Electron microscopy strongly suggests that the material is exfoliated into individual layers. By blending this material with suspensions of other nanomaterials or polymer solutions, we can prepare hybrid dispersions or composites, which can be cast into films. We show that WS(2) and MoS(2) effectively reinforce polymers, whereas WS(2)/carbon nanotube hybrid films have high conductivity, leading to promising thermoelectric properties.</P>
Histopathology and Ultrastructural Findings of Fatal COVID-19 Infections on Testis

Purpose: To evaluate the presence and analyze the pathological changes within the testes of patients who died or recovered from severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (COVID-19) complications. Materials and Methods: Testis tissue was collected from autopsies of COVID-19 positive (n=6) and negative men (n=3). Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues were stained with hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and subjected to immunofluorescence for angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE-2) expression. Fluorescent-labeled tissue slides were imaged on a quantitative pathology scope with various zoom levels allowing for qualitative and quantitative interpretation. Tissue from four COVID- 19 positive autopsy cases and a live seroconverted patient was imaged with transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Results: H&E histomorphology showed three of the six COVID-19 biopsies had normal spermatogenesis while the remaining three had impaired spermatogenesis. TEM showed the COVID-19 virus in testis tissue of one COVID-19 positive autopsy case and the live biopsy, H&E stain on the same autopsy case demonstrated interstitial macrophage and leukocyte infiltration. Immunofluorescent stained slides from six COVID-19 positive men demonstrated a direct association between increased quantitative ACE-2 levels and impairment of spermatogenesis. Conclusions: The novel COVID-19 has an affinity for ACE-2 receptors. Since ACE-2 receptor expression is high in the testes, we hypothesized that COVID-19 is prevalent in testes tissue of infected patients. This study suggests the male reproductive tract, specifically the testes, may be targets of COVID-19 infection. We found an inverse association between ACE-2 receptor levels and spermatogenesis, suggesting a possible mechanism of how COVID-19 can cause infertility.

If q = 8m − 3, then the ring R2n = F[x]/ < x2n − 1 > has 2n primitive idempotents. The explicit expressions for these primitive idempotents are obtained and the minimal QR cyclic codes of length 2n generated by these idempotents are completely described. If q = 8m + 3 then the expressions for the 2n − 1 primitive idempotents of R2n are obtained. The generating polynomials and the upper bounds of the minimum distance of minimal QR cyclic codes generated by these 2n−1 idempotents are also obtained. The case n = 2, 3 is dealt separately.

Multilocus Genotyping to Study Population Structure in Three Buffalo Populations of India

Three buffalo populations viz. Bhadawari, Tarai and local buffaloes of Kerala were genotyped using 24 heterologous polymorphic microsatellite loci. A total of 140 alleles were observed with an average observed heterozygosity of 0.63. All the loci were neutral and 18 out of the 24 loci were in Hardy Weinberg Equilibrium. The $F_{IS}$ values (estimate of inbreeding) for 16 loci in all the three populations were negative. This indicated lack of population structure in the three populations. The effective number of immigrants was 5.88 per generation between the Tarai and Bhadawari populations which was quite high suggesting substantial gene flow. The genetic distances revealed closeness between the Tarai and Bhadawari populations which was expected from geographical contiguity. The FST values were not significantly different from zero showing no population differentiation. The Correspondence Analysis based on the allelic frequency data clustered the majority of the Tarai and Bhadawari individuals as an admixture.
