A rare case of implant displacement to the contralateral side after gluteal augmentation

In this report, we present a rare case of solid silicone implant displacement to the contralateral side after aesthetic gluteal augmentation, a phenomenon that has never been reported before in the literature. A 29-year-old woman with a history of gluteal augmentation 9 months previously and soft tissue infection presented for a consultation due to 3 days of sudden progressive pain in the right gluteus with erythema and edema, without a history of trauma. Displacement of the left gluteal implant to the right gluteal pocket was shown by magnetic resonance imaging. Because the patient refused implant removal, the decision was made to perform capsulotomy, to reconstruct the gluteal pockets, and to preserve the implants. The patient showed a satisfactory early and late postoperative course. Possible causes of this complication include poor surgical technique, with insufficient tissue preservation to keep the pockets apart, and the presence of seroma or hematoma that favored an infectious process, thereby leading to deterioration of the dissected soft tissues with dehiscence of the wound favoring the displacement of the implant.

This work presents one-step electrodeposition of antimony sulfide selenide (Sb2(SxSe1-x)3) thin films on fluorine doped SnO2 substrates. Based on the cyclic voltammetry studies the Sb2(SxSe1-x)3 absorber layers were deposited at different potentials in the range of -0.6 to -0.72 V vs. saturated calomel electrode. The deposited films were uniform and well adhered to the substrate. The effects of the deposition potential and the post-deposition annealing treatment on the physical and chemical properties of the films were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and UV–visible–NIR spectroscopy. The films were crystallized in an orthorhombic crystal structure and the formation of ternary material without any impurity phases was clear from the XRD. The optical band gap of Sb2(SxSe1-x)3 decreased with the increase of the Se concentration in the films. The Mott Schottky plot showed negative slope characteristic of p-type materials. A larger carrier concentration was obtained for films deposited at more negative potentials due to their higher Se content. Solar cells modeled on experimental data of Sb2(SxSe1-x)3 thin films were investigated via device simulation using SCAPS-1D software. The FTO/Sb2(SxSe1-x)3/SnS2 structure showed an efficiency of 11.5%, demonstrating the feasibility of SnS2 as a cadmium-free alternative to the traditional CdS buffer layer.
First report of splenic myelolipoma in a Schnauzer in Colombia: case report

Splenic myelolipoma is a rare tumor in dogs with an unclear origin. A male 13-year-old Schnauzer dog was presented because of a bump on the left side of the abdomen. Clinical examination and abdominal ultrasound revealed a mass in the spleen. A total splenectomy was carried out, and histopathology revealed a splenic myelolipoma. Before surgery, the patient showed high serum alanine aminotransferase levels, which returned to normal eight months after the resection. Unfortunately, the postoperative follow-up showed increased serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels, suggesting liver compromise. This is the first report of a splenic myelolipoma in Colombia.
A Self-consistent Approach to Neutron Stars

We present a set of equilibrium equations for a self-gravitating system of degenerate neutrons, protons and electrons in beta equilibrium in the framework of relativistic quantum statistics and the Einstein-Maxwell equations. Special emphasis is given to the crucial role of the constancy of the generalized Fermi energy of particles, from which we formulate the general relativistic version of the Thomas-Fermi equation. We discuss briefly the consequences of this approach in the general case of neutron star configurations with a core and a crust.
HOW TO USE AROUSAL STIMULI TO ENHANCE EFFECTIVENESS OF DIFFERENT PRE-ROLL ADVERTISING FORMATS

In the current online advertising ecosystem, described by users’ adaptation to ad clutter, an arousal stimulus might not be a sufficient condition to maintain viewers’ attention on advertising. This research contributes to the online advertising literature by investigating whether different arousal designs (one vs. two arousal peaks) should be used to enhance the effectiveness of online video ads (attitude toward the ad, ad recall, purchase intentions, and recommendations) depending on the kind of audience (active or captive). By means of three studies, this research tests a moderation effect proposing that using one arousal stimulus is more effective in non-skippable advertising, whereas introducing two arousal stimuli is more effective in skippable ads. First, a consumer neuroscience study was conducted to detect the arousal stimuli and design the different conditions. Second, an experimental study in a lab setting was carried out to test the hypotheses of our framework. Third, to extend the validity of the experimental study, a field study using Google AdWords was conducted. Our results indicate that the two arousal peaks design increases ad effectiveness in skippable contexts whereas the one arousal peak commercial is more effective in a non-skippable context. These findings agree with previous research which found that continuous consumer activation during the ad improves decoding in memory for active audiences compared to captive audiences (Belanche, Flavi?n, & P?rez Rueda 2017). In addition, an ad with two arousal peaks is more effective among millennials; whereas the one arousal peak ad is more effective among older users (nonmillennials). Our research contributes to better understand how to satisfy the different demands of different advertising audiences (Ha, 2017). Specifically, our findings suggest that advertising campaigns should not be used across formats and users carelessly, but ad design needs to be adapted to the different ad formats and kind of audiences.
General Relativistic White Dwarfs and Their Astrophysical Implications

We consider applications of general relativistic uniformly-rotating white dwarfs to several astrophysicalphenomena related to the spin-up and the spin-down epochs and to delayed type Ia supernovaexplosions of super-Chandrasekhar white dwarfs, where we estimate the “spinning down”lifetime due to magnetic-dipole braking. In addition, we describe the physical properties of SoftGamma Repeaters and Anomalous X-Ray Pulsars as massive rapidly-rotating highly-magnetizedwhite dwarfs. Particularly we consider one of the so-called low-magnetic-field magnetars SGR0418+5729 as a massive rapidly-rotating highly-magnetized white dwarf and give bounds for themass, radius, moment of inertia, and magnetic field by requiring the general relativistic uniformlyrotatingconfigurations to be stable.
Static and Rotating Neutron Stars Fulfilling All Fundamental Interactions

We summarize the key ingredients of a new neutron star model fulfilling global, but not local,charge neutrality. The model is described by what we have called the Einstein-Maxwell-Thomas-Fermi equations, which account for the strong, weak, electromagnetic, and gravitational interactions,as well as thermodynamical equilibrium, within the framework of general relativity and relativisticnuclear mean field theory. We show the results for both static and uniformly-rotating neutron starsand discuss some astrophysical implications.
Papaya Ringspot Virus Coat Protein Gene for Antigen Presentation in Escherichia coli

The coat protein (CP) of Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV) was analyzed for presentation of the antigenic peptide of animal virus, Canine parvovirus (CPV), in Escherichia coli (E. coli). The 45 nucleotides fragment coding for the 15-aa peptide epitope of the CPV-VP2 protein was either inserted into the PRSV-cp gene at the 5', 3' ends, both 5' and 3' ends or substituted into the 3' end of the PRSV cp gene. Each of the chimeric PRSV cp genes was cloned into the pRSET B vector under the control of the T7 promoter and transformed into E. coli. The recombinant coat proteins expressed from different chimeric PRSV-cp genes were purified and intraperitoneally injected into mice. All of the recombinant coat proteins showed strong immunogenicity and stimulate mice immune response. The recombinant coat proteins containing the CPV epitope insertion at the C terminus and at both N and C termini elicited ten times higher specific antisera in immunized mice compared with the other two recombinant coat proteins which contain the CPV epitope insertion at the N terminus and substitution at the C terminus.
