MEASURING CUSTOMER ORIENTATION IN RUSSIAN MARKET: RESULTS OF EMPIRICAL RESEARCH

The concept of customer orientation (CO) has been studied for quite a long time at first as a major part of market orientation and then as a separate construct. For emerging market the role of CO became paramount with the shift from the planned to the market economy. However, after more than two decades of transition Russian companies are still demonstrating rather a claim of being customer orientation, instead of implementing a long-term orientation towards customer. This paper focuses on reconsidering applying the Narver and Slater (1990) approach to conceptualizing and measuring customer orientation, and its empirical test and validation in the context of Russian economy. This study is based on data from two empirical studies on Russian companies, conducted during the pre-crisis (2008) and post-crisis (2010) period. Our results reveal that existing theory on customer orientation is not fully confirmed by the evidence from Russian companies.

USE OF GAMIFICATION TOOLS: SHIFTING CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT PRACTICIES OF RUSSIAN COMPANIES

In this paper we explore the concept of gamification and its business applications in the Russian companies. Gamification has been introduced in 2003 and since that time it has acquired a wide recognition as an efficient tool to enhance front-office and back-office business processes increasing performance and boosting engagement of the participants. Gamification refers to the use of game elements and designs in non-game environments. As a result customers and employees involved stay more focused and motivated to accomplish the chosen goal. We explore customer engagement practices (gamification) of the Russian companies including application areas, funding and perceived efficiency of these initiatives and their shifts over time. Our analysis is based on two waves of data collection: 2015 and 2018, as the result we outline four groups of practices based on the scope of the gamification techniques used and variety of the business processes involved. Also we provide comparative analysis and observe changes in gamification use over time.

The parameters and operating characteristics of the switched reluctance motor (SRM) for the electric drive of the overland belt conveyor CLM-4500 have been presented. The motor power capacity has been equal to 1250 kW, the motor speed - 1000 min-1. SRM power supply has been provided by a three-phase voltage inverter and a 12-pulse rectifier circuit. The group electric drive has been installed on sections number 2 and 3, 3770 m and 3375 m length, respectively, on the areas of "Berezovsky Strip" JSC, a member of the Siberian Coal Energy Company.

<P>Dislocations in p-type Si<SUB>1−<I>x</I></SUB>Ge<SUB><I>x</I></SUB> single crystals (2–8 at% Ge) grown with the Czochralski technique are investigated by synchrotron white beam topography in transmission geometry. As the Ge concentration increases, the dislocation structure evolves from individual dislocations to slip bands and sub-grain boundaries, and the dislocation density increases from <10<SUP>2</SUP> cm<SUP>−2</SUP> to 10<SUP>5</SUP>–10<SUP>6</SUP> cm<SUP>−2</SUP> at 8 at%. We discuss the effect of dislocations on the electrical characteristics such as resistivity ρ<SUB><I>v</I></SUB>, Hall hole mobility μ<SUB>p</SUB>, carrier lifetime τ<SUB>e</SUB> and <I>I</I>–<I>V</I> characteristics. Here τ<SUB>e</SUB> and <I>I</I>–<I>V</I> characteristics are measured from the diodes fabricated by bonding the p-Si<SUB>1−<I>x</I></SUB>Ge<SUB><I>x</I></SUB> to n-Si wafers. <I>I</I>–<I>V</I> characteristics are not deteriorated in spite of a five times decrease in τ<SUB>e</SUB> with the Ge concentration.</P>
