        Objectives : To observe the developmental maturation of brainstem auditory evoked potential(BAEP) for neonates by obtaining the normative data of each BAEP component in our own electrophysiological laboratory. Methods : We reviewed 129 BAEP recordings in neonates ranging in gestational age from 33 weeks to 44 weeks. The BAEP recording were analyzed into latency(wave Ⅰ,Ⅲ,Ⅴ), interpeak latency(Ⅰ-Ⅲ,Ⅲ-Ⅴ,Ⅰ-Ⅴ) and amplitude ratio(I/V) at 75dB sensation level clicks according to gestational age. Results : The latencies of each BAEP component decreased with maturation. Interpeak latency of waveⅠ-Ⅴ(central conduction time)also decreased with increasing age during 33-40 weeks of gestational age. Conclusion : These results provided the concept of abnormal in neonatal BAEPs and opportunity of functional evaluation about the auditory or brainstem maturation in pathologic conditions.

        발관리 교육프로그램이 노인 당뇨병 환자의 발관리 이행과 족부합병증에 미치는 효과

        Purpose : Diabetic foot complications are significant problems in diabetes mellitus and often result in lower extremity amputation. This study was conducted to verify the effects of foot care education on compliance with foot care and diabetic foot complications when the patient is an elder with diabetes. Method: A group pretest-posttest design was used to examine the effects of 6 months of foot care education with a group of 13 elders with diabetes. The major dependent variables including foot care compliance and diabetic foot complications were measured at the beginning and end of the treatment period to examine the effects of foot care education. Result : There were no significant differences in total foot care compliance scores and presence of diabetic foot complication after 6 months, Conclusion : Interventions involving problem based education and pursuing long-time effects may be more effective in implementing and sustaining improvements than just group education or one time interventions for elders with diabetes.

      • 톨루엔 폭로 작업자에서 Aldehyde dehydrogenase2(ALDH2)의 유전자형과 요중 마뇨산

        This study was conducted to evaluate the distribution and the effect to urinary hippuric acid excretion according to the polymorphism of aldehyde dehydrogenase2(ALDH2) which is major role in oxidaton of benzaldehyde to benzoic acid. For 39 workers exposed to toluene and 42 white collar workers, we extracted the DNA from venouse blood and confirmed the genotype of aldehyde dehydrogenase2 using the polymerase chain reaction(PCR) and artificial created restriction site method. In workers exposed to toluene, normal (NN) type were 34 (88%) and inactive(ND) type were (12%), but in white collar workers NN type were 27(65%) and ND type were 14(33%), DD type were 1(2%). It showed the significant lower rate of inactive type of ALDH2 in workers exposed to toluene than white collar workers. The results of workplace toluene measurement were below 20ppm. For urinary hippuric acid there was not significant differnce between normal and inactive type of ALDH2. It suggested that further evaluation should be conducted in high concentration of toluene exposure group.

      • 일부 산모에서 산모혈, 제대혈, 모유 및 태반에서의 환경 에스토레겐성 화합물(PCBs) : Environmental estromgen compounds(PCBs) in Maternal Blood, Cord Blood, Human Milk and Placenta of Korea women

        The production and intensive use of organochlorine chemicals, both in agriculture and industry, have led to wide spread contamination of the environment. There may be biological effects of organochlorine contaminated breast milk even when levels are below those concentrations that are currently regarded as tolerable. To evaluate the exposure of to fetus PCBs, we measured the sum of 13 congeners of PCBs in maternal blood, cord blood, breast milk and placenta of 30 Korean women by gas chromatograpy/electron capture detector. The concentration of total PCBs of maternal blood, cord blood and breast milk were 7.16±4.29 ㎍/ℓ, 5.16±3.12 ㎍/ℓ, 1.77±2.87 ㎍/ℓ respectively and they have no significant correlation. PCBs in placenta was not defected. However there were no significant differences of PCBs according to age, education, body mass index, parity, breastfeeding, smoking and drinking.

      • 연결부재의 거동특성을 고려한 고층 벽식 건물의 동적응답

        본 연구의 목적은 고층 벽식 공동주택 구조에 대하여, 연결부재의 특성을 고려한 비선형 해석을 실시하여 거동특성을 조사하고, 내진성능을 평가하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 벽체와 커플링효과를 나타내는 연결슬래브 및 연결보의 실험결과를 반영한 모델을 이용하여 벽식 건물의 비선형정적 및 동적해석을 수행하였으며, 사용된 지진파는 0.2g으로 일정하게 최대지반가속도를 조정하여 사용하였다. 이상과 같은 연구에서 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. (1) 벽식구조의 비선형 정적해석 결과 5층, 12층 모델의 항복힌지 발생위치 및 항복시의 층간변위는 나타났다. (2) 비선형 동적해석 결과 최대지반가속도 0.2g의 지진동에 대하여 5층 및 12층 모델 모두 국내 내진규준에서 제한하는 층간변위인 층고의 1.5%이내의 응답을 나타내어 규준을 만족하였다. 그러나 연결보의 경우 허용기준보다 낮은 층간변위(0.3~0.5%)에서 항복이 발생하여 탄성범위를 넘어섬으로 내진성능에 대한 충분한 안전성을 갖지 못하는 것으로 판단된다. The purpose of this study is to investigate nonlinear behavior and estimate ultimate resistance of the coupling wall structure against seismic loading, experimental data for RC coupling elements are used for specifying the strength deterioration and stiffness degradation factor of hysteretic model Modified coupling element models are used in the push over analysis and time history analysis. In time history analysis, three earthquake waves are used in the analysis and their peak ground accelerations are changed to be 0.2g. The conclusions of this study are following : (1) In the push over analysis , yielding of coupling elements occurred at lower story with as small story drift ratio as 0.3%. (2) In the time history analysis, the story drift ratio is sufficient the reguirement of KC, But couping elements of most stories of the buildings occurred yielding.

        톨루엔 노출 근로자에서 유전자적 요인, 생활습관 및 식이가 요중 마뇨산 배설에 미치는 영향

        목 적 : 본 연구는 생물학적 지표 특성 연구를 위한 단면조사 연구로서 톨루엔 노출과 톨루엔의 생물학적 모니터링으로 이용되는 요중 마뇨산 농도간의 양-반응 관계에서 효과 변경인자로서 작용하는 유전자 ALDH2, CYPIAI, CYP2El의 다양성 분포를 조사하고, 이들 유전자가 요중 마뇨산 배설 농도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 방 법 : 연구대상자는 경인지역에 위치한 22개의 사업체에서 페인트 제조 72명, 제조업에서 도장작업 50명, 인쇄업 12명, 접착작업 12명, 벽지의 코팅작업 14명등 160명의 근로자이었다. 성, 연령, 유기용제 작업장 근무경력, 흡연습관, 음주습관, 검사일 이전 밤에 음주 여부, 시료 채취전 6시간 이내에 섭취한 식품조사, 측정일 개인보호구의 착용 여부에 대하여 설문조사를 시행하였다. 톨루엔에 대한 개인노출량은 passive air sampler로 측정하였고, 요중 마뇨산은 요중 크레아틴으로 보정하여 측정하였다. 또한 aldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (ALDH2) , cytochrome P45O IAI(CYPIAI), 그리고 cytochrome P45O 2El(CYPfEl)의 유전적 다양성은 혈액으로부터 백혈구의 DNA를 추출하여 제한 효소 절단 길이 다양성 (restiction fragment length polymorphism, RFLP)법으로 검사하여 다음의 결과를 얻었다. 결 과 : 연구대상자의 요중 마뇨산 농도의 기하평균은 0.44g/g creatinine, 기하표준편차 2.80이었다. 톨루엔 노출 농도, 개인 보호구 착용여부, 안식향산이 함유된 식품의 섭취여부중 요중 마뇨산 배설농도에 영향을 미치는 인자는 톨루엔 노출 농도뿐이었다. ALDH2, CYPIAI, CYPfEl, 연령, 흡연, 근무기간에서 회귀계수간에 차이를 보이는 경향이 있었다. 요중 마뇨산 농도에 대한 다중회귀분석에서 톨루엔, ALDH2, CYPIAI, CYP2El유전자형의 회귀계수가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 결 론 : 톨루엔 노출로 인한 요중 마뇨산 배설 농도는 ALDH2, CYPIAI, CYP2El유전자 다양성에 의해 영향을 받기 때문에, 유전자형의 대사능의 차이를 고려하여 마뇨산 기준 농도를 찾는 연구가 이루어져야 하겠다. Objectives The purpose was to investigate the distributions and the effects of genetic polymorphism of aldehyde dehydrogenase 2(ALDH2), cytochrome P45O IAI (CYPIAI), and cytochrome P45O 2El (CYPfEl) on the toluene metabolism. Methods : The subacts consisted of 160 workers who were exposed to toluene in different industries such as paint manufacturing, painting on steel and wood products, printing, bonding, and coating. The exposed toluene level was monitored by passive air sam paler, and the questionnaire variables were age, sex, smoking, drinking, previous night's drinking, use of personal protectlve equipment, work duration, and taking benzoic acid containing food. The urinary hippurric acid collected in the end of shift was corrected by urinary creatinine concentration. The genotypes of ALDH2, CYPIAI, and CYP2El were investigated using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) methods with DNA extracted from venous blood. Results'The geometric mean and the geometric standard deviation of urinary hippuric acid concentration were 0.44 g/g creatinine and 2.80. The urinary hippuric acid concentration was significantly related to personal exposed toluene level among personal exposed toluene level, use of personal protective equipment, and benzoic acid containing food diet. The slope differences of the regression for ALDH2, CYPIAI, and CYP2E1 genetic polymorphism, age, smoking, and work duration tended to be significant. In multiple regression analysis, the regression coefficient of toluene, ALDH2, 7YPIAl, CYP2E1 genetic polymorphism were significant. Conclusions : From the above results, urinary hippuric acid level after toluene exposure was significantly affected by the genetic polymorphism of ALDH2, CYPIAI, CYPfEl. It is needed further investigation of the urinary hippuric acid level considering the effect of genetic polymorphism.

        한국인 직무 스트레스 측정도구의 개발 및 표준화

        Background and Purposes: Over the past three decades, numerous studies performed in Korea have reported that job stress is a determinant risk factor for chronic diseases and work disability. Every society has its own culture and occupational climate particular to their organizations, and hence experiences different occupational stress. An occupational stress measurement tool therefore needs to be developed to estimate it objectively. The purpose of this study is to develop and standardize the Korean Occupational Stress Scale (KOSS) which is considered to be unique and specific occupational stressors in Korean employees. Subjects and Methods: Data were obtained from the National Study for Development and Standardization of Occupational Stress (NSDSOS Project: 2002-2004). A total of 12,631 employees from a nationwide sample proportional to the Korean Standard Industrial Classification and the Korean Standard Occupational Classification were administered. The KOSS was developed for 2 years (2002-2004). In the first year, we collected 255 items from the most popular job stress measurement tools such as JCQ, ERI, NIOSH and OSI, and 44 items derived from the a qualitative study (depth interview). Forty-three items of KOSS, in the second year, were retained for use in the final version of the KOSS by using Delphi and factor analysis. Items were scored using conventional 1-2-3-4 Likert scores for the response categories. Results: We developed eight subscales by using factor analysis and validation process: physical environment (3 items), job demand (8 items), insufficient job control (5 items), interpersonal conflict (4 items), job insecurity (6 items), organizational system (7 items), lack of reward (6 items), and occupational climate (4 items). Together they explained 50.0% of total variance. Internal consistency alpha scores were ranged from 0.51 to 0.82. Twenty-four items of the short form of the KOSS (KOSS-SF) were also developed to estimate job stress in the work setting. Because the levels of the subscales of occupational stress were gender dependent, gender-specific standard norms for both the 43-item full version and the 24-item short form using a quartile for the subscales of KOSS were presented. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that KOSS might be an appropriate measurement scale to estimate occupational stress of Korean employees. Further and more detailed study needs to be conducted to improve the validity of this scale.

        거친 신체놀이의 실외활동과 일반적인 실외활동 놀이 사이에서 나타난 유아의 공격성 감소 및 대인문제해결력에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of reduction in aggression of young children and interpersonal problem solving ability between outdoor activity of rough and tumble play and general outdoor activity play. The subjects in this study were 40 five-year-olds at J kindergarten in G city. The collected data were analyzed by t-test using SPSS 19.0 program. The results of this study were as follows: First, it was found that the outdoor activity of rough and tumble play has positive influence on the reduction of aggression and its subordinate variables (physical aggression and verbal aggression) of young children. Second, it was found that the outdoor activity of rough and tumble play has more positive influence on increase of alternative solution thinking and consequential thinking of young children. The results suggested that it is meaningful to clarify the outdoor activity with rough and tumble play could make positive effect on reduction of young children`s aggression and increase of interpersonal problem solving ability. It was also founded that it is worthy of utilizing in early childhood education field.
