Some Geometric Properties of the Weak*-integral

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>These days, the importance of Human Factors and Ergonomics (HF&E) when producing military systems is being increasingly recognized. However, existing literature and guidelines have predominantly focused on the minimum requirements rather than optimal parameters when HF&E departments have associated with designers and engineers. Thus, in this paper, we investigate a design process suggesting optimal parameters for multi-function consoles (MFCs) installed in submarines using anthropometric data for Koreans. The design procedure utilized in this paper follows “clarification”, “analysis”, “design”, “simulation”, and “evaluation”. For the clarification step, effective design factors taking into account operators’ postures were identified via the task analysis. During the analysis, HF&E criteria as well as the ethnic characteristics of Koreans were investigated to evaluate the minimum requirements of design factors. The anthropometric data from the Size Korea project, which includes measurements from a total of 14,016 people from the Republic of Korea, were utilized to suggest appropriate ranges for the design parameters. Design and simulation steps were iteratively preceded by evaluating the design specifications for their appropriateness through human simulation modeling. Finally, a full-scale mock-up was developed; 10 HF&E experts conducted the direction and detection tasks carried out by navy crews to evaluate reaction time as well as subjective comfort. Thus, with the results from this study, we were able to successfully suggest and validate the design specifications for submarine-mounted MFCs for Korean use by utilizing Korean anthropometric data.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Design specification of MFC console was suggested and verified. </LI> <LI> Anthropometric data of South Koreans was utilized. </LI> <LI> A design procedure used in this study promoted an interdisciplinary approach. </LI> <LI> Human simulation modeling enabled quick-examination of the design suitability. </LI> </UL> </P>

A Simple GUI-based Sequencing Format Conversion Tool for the Three NGS Platforms

To allow for a quick conversion of the proprietary sequence data from various sequencing platforms, sequence format conversion toolkits are required that can be easily integrated into workflow systems. In this respect, a format conversion tool, as well as quality conversion tool would be the minimum requirements to integrate reads from different platforms. We have developed the Pyrus NGS Sequencing Format Converter, a simple software toolkit which allows to convert three kinds of Next Generation Sequencing reads, into commonly used fasta or fastq formats. The converter modules are all implemented, uniformly, in Java GUI modules that can be integrated in software applications for displaying the data content in the same format.

Some properties of equivalent fuzzy norms

In the present paper, we observe a relation between fuzzy norms and induced crisp norms on a linear space. We first prove that if $\rho_1,\;\rho_2$ are equivalent fuzzy norms on a linear space, then for every $\varepsilon\in(0.1)$, the induced crisp norms $P_\varepsilon^1,\;and\;P_\varepsilon^2$, respectively are equivalent. Since the converse does not hold, we prove it under some strict conditions. And consider the following theorem proved in [8]: Let $\rho$ be a lower semicontinuous fuzzy norm on a normed linear space X, and have the bounded support. Then $\rho$ is equivalent to the fuzzy norm $\chi_B$ where B is the closed unit ball of X. The lower semi-continuity of $\rho$ is an essential condition which guarantees the continuity of $P_\varepsilon$, where 0 < e < 1. As the last result, we prove that : if $\rho$ is a fuzzy norm on a finite dimensional vector space, then $\rho$ is equivalent to $\chi_B$ if and only if the support of $\rho$ is bounded.

약150년간 발달해온 시민적 환상연극은 20세기 전환기에 자연주의에서 일단 그 정점에 도달하한다. 이것은 동시에 18세기의 30년대에 고췌트/노이버에 의한 연극개혁 이후 지배적인 연극의 형태로 발전한 문학적 연극의 종언을 뜻한다. 1900년대 초에 종래의 환상주의 연극을 대체할 새로운 연극 컨셉들이 제시된다. 이런 일련의 연극 개혁 운동들은 "연극의 연극화" 또는 "연극의 탈문학화"라는 표어로 특징지울 수 있다. 이는 당시 연극계에 연출가라는 새로운 직업이 등장하는 것과 연관이 있으며 향후 연출가는 연극의 양상을 근본적으로 바꿔놓게 된다. 연극의 독자성을 보장하기 위해서는 연출가가 독자적인 연극 언어를 창출해야 되기 때문에 연극 자체의 표현 가능성을 다시 찾아내야 된다는 것이었다. 이것이 연극적 아방가르디스들의 일반적인 요구였다. 연극 개혁 운동은 전유럽적인 현상으로 다다이스트나 바우하우스의 연극적 실험, 러시아 혁명기의 연극, 이탈리아의 미래파 등이 이에 속한다. 연극이 오랜 문학적 예속에서 벗어남으로 인하여 연극 개념이 새로 정립되게 되었으며 그 결과로 연극적 표현 가능성의 확대가 이루어졌다. 이 논문에서는 피스카토르 극장과 바우하우스의 연극적 실험을 예로 들어서 1920년대 연극의 표현 가능성 확대를 점검하고자 한다. 피스카토르는 전통적인 의미의 예술을 배제한 그의 정치극을 통해서 시사성있는 당대 사회의 문제들을 연극에서 다루고 연극을 통해서 관객에게 직접적인 정치적 영향을 주려고 하였다. 그는 영화나 환등기를 이용하여 각종 기록 자료를 극적 사건진행에 통합시키는 등 무대장치와 무대기술의 혁신을 이루었다. 그는 에른스트 톨러의 『아이쿠, 우린 살아있네』의 개막공연에서는 다층의 동시무대를 사용하였고, 『라스푸틴』의 공연에서는 분할 지구의 무대를 사용하였다. 그리고 기록 자료로서 영화도 투사되어 영화장면이 극적 사건진행에 통합되었다. 또한 『슈베이크』 공연에서는 움직이는 보도를 도입하여 끊임없이 전선을 향해서 행군하는 주인공을 생생하게 보여주고 있다. 피스카토르의 공헌은 기술적 개혁과 영화와 환등기의 사용을 통해서 종래의 제한된 연극적 표현 가능성을 확대하고 연극적 언어를 풍부하게 한 데 있다. 그는 브레히트에 앞서서 기술적인 개혁을 통해서 무대상의 서사극을 도입하였다. 바우하우스의 연극부에서 이루어진 연극적 실험은 1923년부터 이 부서를 맡은 오스카 슐레머에 의해서 주도적으로 이루어졌으며, 앞에서 논한 피스카토르의 정치극과 극단적인 대조를 이루는 형식적인 실험이었다. 바우하우스의 연극적 실험은 주로 인체의 운동 구조와 공간 내에서의 안무적인 가능성을 실험하는 것이었다. 슐레머의 대표작은 수학적 의상 무용인 『3조 발레』다. 연극개혁 운동가인 크레이크는 배우의 창조적 예술성을 부정하고 배우가 "초월적인 마리오넷"으로 대체되어야 한다고 주창하였는데, 슐레머도 크레이크의 명제를 따르고 있으며 배우가 "인공적 형상"에 의해서 대체되는 연극적 유토피아를 설정하였다. 바우하우스는 정치적 상황 때문에 단명으로 끝났지만 연극적 실험에서 독창적인 흔적을 남겨서 후대에 많은 자극을 주고 있다. 이 논문에서는 1920년대에 독일 문화의 각 분야에서 활발하게 전개된 새로운 창조적 물결 중에서 연극 분야를 다루었다. 그 중에서도 특히 상반된 대조를 이루고 있는 피스카토르의 정치극에서 이루어진 무대기술의 개혁과 바우하우스의 연극적 실험을 집중적으로 논하였다. 피스카토르의 정치극과 이를 위한 기술적 개혁은 1960년대의 기록극으로 이어지며 바우하우스의 연극적 실험은 네오아방가르드 운동에 자극을 주었다.

A Characterization of the Weak<SUP>*</SUP>-Integral
