High Entropy Silicides: A Future Perspective of Anode Material for Li-Ion Batteries

Silicon anode material is one of the outstanding candidates as a substitute for graphite anode due to its ultra-high theoretical capacity (~4200 mAhg<SUP>−1</SUP>) and abundance of availability. Unfortunately, the severe capacity degradation due to large volume change during lithiation and delithiation has hampered the Si-based anode from being commercialized. A novel class of ceramics emerging in 2019, called high entropy silicides (HES) has produced extensive researchers interest since the first report. This equiatomic multicomponent system has created new opportunities for the design/discovery of materials and applications. The HES shows some best activities compared to their unary, binary, ternary, and quaternary silicide counterparts. This review will highlight some current research developments and possible applications. At the same time, it also gives an insight into the many successfully synthesized HES systems to date and future prospects offered by this innovative class of materials are also discussed.

Various techniques are well documented to obtain anatomic reduction, such as reduction forceps, manual reduction, or a combination of these methods. However, these techniques have inherent drawbacks. We propose a new intra-operative technique for anatomic reduction using screw-wire traction for open reduction and internal fixation of mandibular fractures.
