This paper investigates the determinants of credit accessibility and the effect of credit on the income of farm households borrowing from Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Giong Rieng District Branch, Kien Giang Province. Based on the primary data of 200 farming households who are the customer of the bank, the study applied the Probit regression model to examine determinant factors of credit accessibility of farm households and employed the Propensity score matching method to investigate the impact of credit on households’ income. The findings of the Probit regression shown that three independent variables that significantly influence the access to credit of households are household size, income source, and farm size. Besides that, the Propensity score matching method results showed a difference of 23.799 million VND/year between the income of borrowing households and that of non-borrowing households at the significance level of 1%. The difference in the imcome from the interval and central matching methods are VND 24.700 million VND/year and VND 24.633 million VND/year, respectively. Given empirical findings suggetsted that several recommendations to increase the credit accessibility of farm households, thereby creating favorable conditions for improving their income.

We first confirmed the involvement of MalQ (4-α-glucanotransferase) in Escherichia coli glycogen breakdown by both in vitro and in vivo assays. In vivo tests of the knock-out mutant, ΔmalQ, showed that glycogen slowly decreased after the stationary phase compared to the wild-type strain, indicating the involvement of MalQ in glycogen degradation. In vitro assays incubated glycogen-mimic substrate, branched cyclodextrin (maltotetraosyl-β-CD: G4-β-CD) and glycogen phosphorylase (GlgP)-limit dextrin with a set of variable combinations of E. coli enzymes, including GlgX (debranching enzyme), MalP (maltodextrin phosphorylase), GlgP and MalQ. In the absence of GlgP, the reaction of MalP, GlgX and MalQ on substrates produced glucose-1-P (glc-1-P) 3-fold faster than without MalQ. The results revealed that MalQ led to disproportionate G4 released from GlgP-limit dextrin to another acceptor, G4, which is phosphorylated by MalP. In contrast, in the absence of MalP, the reaction of GlgX, GlgP and MalQ resulted in a 1.6-fold increased production of glc-1-P than without MalQ. The result indicated that the G4-branch chains of GlgP-limit dextrin are released by GlgX hydrolysis, and then MalQ transfers the resultant G4 either to another branch chain or another G4 that can immediately be phosphorylated into glc-1-P by GlgP. Thus, we propose a model of two possible MalQ-involved pathways in glycogen degradation. The operon structure of MalP-defecting enterobacteria strongly supports the involvement of MalQ and GlgP as alternative pathways in glycogen degradation.
Preparation of amino-functionalized silica for copper removal from an aqueous solution

In the present research, amino-functionalized silica materials were synthesized to develop absorbents for removing copper (II) ions from water. Three kinds of silica with various BET surface areas and pore volumes (331.4 m2/g, 460.1 m2/g, 717.7 m2/g and 1.38 cm3/g, 1.06 cm3/g, 0.57 cm3/g, respectively) were used to determine an optimum material. 3-Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (3-APTMS) and N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]-ethylenediamine (MSDA) are two amino-functional moieties grafted onto silica surfaces. A maximum copper absorption of 33.45 mg/g was confirmed using the aminofunctionalized material at an initial 3-APTMS concentration of 2.52 mmol/g. Silica with a BET surface of 331 m2/g and a pore volume of 1.38 cm3/g demonstrated a good copper absorption capacity. Interference species such as pH, NH3 and EDTA were also studied in this work.

Fault detection in power equipment is an essential part for the stability of the power grids. Partial discharge in power equipment is used to classify the insulation status of the power equipments. In this paper, a deep neural network based fault classification algorithm is proposed using phase resolved partial discharges (PRPDs) in power transformer. Convolutional neural network (CNN) is used as a classification algorithm for PRPDs from high frequency current transformer (HFCT). In addition, we apply our CNN model to edge devices. Experimental results showed that the proposed CNN method outperforms other machine learning (ML) based classification algorithms.
Determinants of Households' Income in Rural Areas: An Empirical Study in Vietnam

The proportion of people living in poverty in Soc Trang is comparatively large. 27,154 households in this province are considered to be poor, which represents 8.4 percent of all households. The gap between rural and urban areas, between farmers and other social classes in this province, tends to increase, and the living standard of people in the countryside remains difficult. This paper aims to investigate the determinant factors of poor households' income in rural areas of Soc Trang province, Vietnam. Data from 120 poor households in Vinh Chau district and Ke Sach district of Soc Trang province collected in the year 2019 is employed to test the proposed hypotheses in this study. By applying the descriptive statistical method and ordinary least squares (OLS) regression, the results show that the factors of production land, number of income generation activities, access to credit, means of transportation, and means of production positively affect the income per capita of poor household in the study area, whereas household size has a negative impact on the household income per capita. Considering the empirical findings, several solutions and recommendations are proposed to improve the income of poor households in Soc Trang province.
Distributed Rate and Congestion Control for Wireless Mesh Networks

Wireless networks (WNs) are developed and applied widely in a lot of areas. Now, a new generation of wireless networks is coming, and that is Wireless Mesh Network (WMN). At present, there are not so many researches which deal on this area. Most researches are derived from Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) and WNs. In WMNs, there are some applications that require real-time delivery. To guarantee this, rate control and congestion control are needed. This problem leads to optimization issue in transport layer. In this paper, we propose a mathematical model which is applied in rate and congestion control in WNMs. From this model, we optimize rate and congestion control in WMNs by maximizing network utility. The proposed algorithm is implemented in distributed way both in links and sources.
Network Congestion Control using Robust Optimization Design

Congestion control is one of major mechanisms to avoid dropped packets. Many researchers use optimization theories to find an efficient way to reduce congestion in networks, but they do not consider robustness that may lead to unstable network utilities. This paper proposes a new methodology in order to solve a congestion control problem for wired networks by using a robust design principle. In our particular numerical example, the proposed method provides robust solutions that guarantee high and stable network utilities.
