Interest in political socialisation, the process by which political knowledge, attitudes and beliefs are acquired, and the agencies through which it occurs, can be traced back to the beginnings of political theory. Much of Plato's Republic, was devoted to describing the proper training patterns of various 'classes' in his ideal state. Aristotle took it for granted that legislators should make the political socialisation of the young their major concern. To ensure stability of the constitution, which to Aristotle meant not the framework of government, but also a 'way of life', citizens had to be educated into the spirit of the constitution.

The paper briefly presents the social and cultural context of technopolis development. It offers a catalog of the social considerations a technopolis designer must attend to. Technopolis planners may use this list for preliminary assessment and benchmarking of their region against others, and to reach a realistic view of the challenges facing a new technopolis project.

Functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) based BrainComputer Interface (BCI) systems have grown in popularityin the last years, and has shown itself as a useful tool indeveloping portable and convenient BCI systems. Thepurpose of this review paper is to highlight the recentdevelopments, applications, and challenges that researchgroups have achieved in the field of fNIRS-BCI. We willshow how fNIRS can be paired with another modality (i.e. EEG, fTCD, etc.) to drastically improve classification accuracy. From there, we will discuss the recent achievements inclassification techniques researchers have had with fNIRS ora combined fNIRS modality. Finally, we will look at howfNIRS-BCI systems are used to enhance human-robotinteractions and assistive technologies. Throughout ourreview paper, we will note challenges groups have had withtheir studies, as to provide a framework for future researchtopics for the fNIRS-BCI community.
