        Study on Corrosion Resistance and Bio‑Tribological Behavior of Porous Structure Based on the SLM Manufactured Medical Ti6Al4V

        Titanium and its alloy, especially Ti6Al4V is one of the most widely used metal due to its excellent properties. Selectivelaser melting, which is known as additive manufacturing is considered as a suitable method to manufacture Ti6Al4V parts. To print a more analogous Ti6Al4V artificial bone, laser power was changed by taking volume porosity, corrosion resistanceand wear resistance into consideration. The testing results showed that sample printed using 200 W showed a relative optimalcorrosion resistance and volume porosity in all these five samples (the value of corrosion voltage is − 0.352 V), while itshowed the best bio-tribological behavior, and its wear volume is as low as 5.90 μm3. Summarize the 5 sets of experimentalsamples, the Ti6Al4V part printed using 180–200 W were the most prominent in the test, its overall performance was, indeed,best fit to print artificial Ti6Al4V bone, because it is similar to bone, there are a large number of microporous structures.

        A Dynamic Control Method for Cavs Platoon Based on the MPC Framework and Safety Potential Field Model

        Safety and efficiency have always been significant challenges to the development of road traffic. Detailed vehicle motion information is the prerequisite for achieving optimal control of the platoon and improving traffic safety and efficiency. The connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) system has offered unprecedented opportunities for the real-time collection and processing of these detailed vehicle motion data. Based on the model predictive control (MPC) framework and safety potential field (SPF) model, we developed an alternative CAVs platoon dynamic control method. The SPF model was applied to describe the road risk distribution under the complex driving environment and was embedded in the MPC framework to optimize the vehicle dynamics from the perspective of capacity, safety, and energy-saving. Also, some experiments were performed to verify the validity of our platoon control strategy. Compared with the fixed time-headway strategy, our proposed strategy can increase the traffic capacity by about 24.4%, while ensuring safety and improving fuel economy. The results indicate that the novel CAVs platoon control methodology proposed in this paper can be potentially applied to alleviate various traffic problems (e.g., traffic congestion, traffic accidents, and high emissions).

        Antimicrobial Aflatoxins from the Marine-Derived Fungus Aspergillus flavus 092008

        A new aflatoxin, aflatoxin B2b (1), together with six known compounds, were isolated from the marine-derived fungus Aspergillus flavus 092008 endogenous with the mangrove plant Hibiscus tiliaceus (Malvaceae). The structure of 1 was determined by the spectroscopic and chemical methods. Compound 1 exhibited a moderate antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Enterobacter aerogenes, with MIC values of 22.5, 1.7 and 1.1 μM, respectively. Compound 1 also showed a weak cytotoxicity against A549, K562 and L-02 cell lines, with IC50 values of 8.1, 2.0 and 4.2 μM, respectively. The results showed that hydration and hydrogenation of Δ8-double bond significantly reduces the cytotoxicity of aflatoxins, while the esterification at C-8 increases the cytotoxicity.

        Over-expression of FaGalLDH Increases Ascorbic Acid Concentrations and Enhances Salt Stress Tolerance in Arabidopsis thaliana

        The strawberry (Fragaria×ananassa) is an economically important perennial crop plant, and its fruits are rich in vitamin C (l-ascorbic acid [AsA]) and other nutrients. l-galactono-1,4-lactone dehydrogenase (GalLDH) is a key enzyme in the terminal step of AsA biosynthesis pathway in plants. Here, the GalLDH gene (FaGalLDH) was cloned from ‘Benihoppe’ strawberries. AsA content increased during fruit development and peaked at the red-ripening stage, and AsA concentrations in diferent tissues were correlated with enzyme activity and transcription level of FaGalLDH. Transient over-expression of FaGalLDH in strawberry fruit increased its overall expression and AsA production signifcantly, whereas transient RNAi of FaGalLDH decreased its expression and AsA content. Furthermore, the optimum pH and temperature for FaGalLDH activity were 8.0 and 25 °C, respectively. Ectopic expression of the FaGalLDH gene in Arabidopsis resulted in higher AsA content and enzyme activity in transgenic lines than in wild-type plants. FaGalLDH over-expression resulted in enhanced tolerance to salt stress due to reduced accumulation of malondialdehyde, H2O2, and O2 .−, as well as higher survival rates, root length, proline content, and superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, and catalase activities. These results provide useful information regarding AsA biosynthesis and salt tolerance, which may help to improve strawberry fruit quality and productivity.
