2D Human Pose Estimation based on Object Detection using RGB-D information
( Seohee Park ),( Myunggeun Ji ),( Junchul Chun ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.2
In recent years, video surveillance research has been able to recognize various behaviors of pedestrians and analyze the overall situation of objects by combining image analysis technology and deep learning method. Human Activity Recognition (HAR), which is important issue in video surveillance research, is a field to detect abnormal behavior of pedestrians in CCTV environment. In order to recognize human behavior, it is necessary to detect the human in the image and to estimate the pose from the detected human. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for 2D Human Pose Estimation based on object detection using RGB-D information. By adding depth information to the RGB information that has some limitation in detecting object due to lack of topological information, we can improve the detecting accuracy. Subsequently, the rescaled region of the detected object is applied to ConVol.utional Pose Machines (CPM) which is a sequential prediction structure based on ConVol.utional Neural Network. We utilize CPM to generate belief maps to predict the positions of keypoint representing human body parts and to estimate human pose by detecting 14 key body points. From the experimental results, we can prove that the proposed method detects target objects robustly in occlusion. It is also possible to perform 2D human pose estimation by providing an accurately detected region as an input of the CPM. As for the future work, we will estimate the 3D human pose by mapping the 2D coordinate information on the body part onto the 3D space. Consequently, we can provide useful human behavior information in the research of HAR.
A Research on the Development Method of a Digital Color using Natural Flower Images
Seohee PARK 한국색채학회 2011 한국색채학회 학술대회 Vol.2011 No.10
This research aims to understand the characteristics of digital devices and colors and by doing so, to enhance the satisfaction of the designers work by providing them with data about the nature of the original colors. Studies show pigments that determine the color of a flower mostly are mostly located in the petals. Upon analyzing the colors using the pigments in the flower"s petal, different characteristics in chromatic and lightness were noted. White flowers had high lightness and low chromatic; yellow flowers had a proportionate relationship among the two factors while orange flowers displayed similarity in lightness with diverse chromatic. Red, magenta flowers had higher chromatic than lightness and pink flowers showed lower chromatic in comparison with lightness. Violet, mauve colored flowers had a balance in chromatic and lightness and blue flowers had low chromatic and a relatively high lightness. Purple, black flowers showed low in both lightness and chromatics. On the basis of this data, an ACO file with classified flower colors was made to be utilized as a flower color swatch on Photoshop and illustration programs.

Purpose: Tegafur/gimeracil/oteracil (S-1) and capecitabine plus oxaliplatin (CAPOX) are standard adjuvant chemotherapies (ACs) administered after gastrectomy to patients with stage II or III gastric cancer. However, the effcacy of AC in elderly patients remains unclear. The objective of this retrospective multicenter cohort study was to compare the effcacies of S-1 and CAPOX AC in patients aged ≥70 years. Materials and Methods: Nine hundred eighty-three patients who were treated with AC using S-1 (768 patients) or CAPOX (215 patients) were enrolled in this study. Each patient underwent AC after curative gastrectomy for stage II or III gastric cancer at one of 27 hospitals in the Republic of Korea between January 2012 and December 2013. Relapse-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) were analyzed according to AC regimen and age group. Results: Of the 983 patients, 254 (25.8%) were elderly. This group had a similar RFS (P=0.099) but significantly poorer OS (p=0.003) compared with the non-elderly group. Subgroup analysis of the non-elderly group revealed no AC-associated differences in survival. Subgroup analysis of the elderly group revealed significantly better survival in the S-1 group than in the CAPOX group (RFS, P<0.001; OS, P<0.001). Multivariate analysis revealed that the CAPOX regimen was an independent poor prognostic factor for RFS (hazard ratio [HR], 1.891; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.072–3.333; P=0.028) and OS (HR, 2.970; 95% CI, 1.550–5.692; P=0.001). Conclusions: This multicenter observational cohort study found significant differences in RFS and OS between S-1 and CAPOX AC among patients with gastric cancer aged ≥70 years.

In this qualitative research study, we explored the sustainability factors of counselors who received continuous counseling after qualification. We conducted individual, face-to face interviews with four counselors for two weeks between May and June 2018. The second and third data collection phases involved follow-up by phone or email where necessary. We applied topic analysis to our data and in the process arrived at four perspectives on the sustainability factors of supervision. The four themes were ‘Being helpful,’ ‘Being a good learning experience,’ ‘Recognizing the need for a third party,’ and ‘Discovering possibilities.’ ‘Being helpful’ is the factor of continuing the supervision and involves ‘Being psychologically stable,’ ‘Knowing one’s limits’ and ‘Deepening the understanding of clients.’ We classified ‘Being a good learning experience’ as ‘Reflecting on oneself,’ ‘Learning through participation and observation’ and ‘Understanding human beings.’ We defined ‘Recognizing the need for a third party’ as the ability of counselors to see their blind spots. The fourth persistent factor is ‘Discovering possibilities,’ and applies equally to both the counselor and the client as they discover their potential.

Panax ginseng is a well-known herbal plant originated from North-east asia for its various tonic effects. However, production of ginseng roots takes long time in field condition, usually five through six years until harvest. Additionally, ginseng is very susceptible to many kinds of biotic and abiotic stresses, for example, Rhizoctonia solani, which causes damping-off, or high temperature. To overcome these limits, induction of adventitious roots has been studied for more than 10 years and also adventitious roots are widely used materials for genetic research of P.ginseng. In this study, we induced adventitious roots from registered Korean ginseng cultivars and cultured them in bioreactor condition. Induction rate of adventitious roots from nine Korean ginseng cultivars was evaluated and growth pattern of four cultivars in bioreactor scale was also studied. Furthermore, genes that are related to biosynthesis of saponins in ginseng, ginsenoside, were discovered in ginseng whole-genome shotgun sequences for genetic research.
