<P>Mo doped Li excess transition metal oxides formulated as 0.3Li[Li<SUB>0.33</SUB>Mn<SUB>0.67</SUB>]O<SUB>2</SUB>·0.7Li[Ni<SUB>0.5-<I>x</I></SUB>Co<SUB>0.2</SUB>Mn<SUB>0.3-<I>x</I></SUB>Mo<SUB>2<I>x</I></SUB>]O<SUB>2</SUB> were synthesized using the co-precipitation process. The effects of the substitution of Ni and Mn with Mo were investigated for the density of the states, the structure, cycling stability, rate performance and thermal stability by tools such as first principle calculations, synchrotron X-ray diffraction, field-emission SEM, solid state <SUP>7</SUP>Li MAS nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), elemental mapping by scanning TEM (STEM), inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). It was confirmed that high valence Mo<SUP>6+</SUP> doping of the Li-excess manganese-nickel-cobalt layered oxide in the transition metal enhanced the structural stability and electrochemical performance. Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) is a highly contagious trans-boundary viral disease caused by FMD virus, which causes huge economic losses. FMDV infects cloven hoofed (two-toed) mammals such as cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and various wildlife species. To control the FMDV, it is necessary to understand the life cycle and the pathogenesis of FMDV in host. Especially, the protein-protein interaction between FMDV and host will help to understand the survival cycle of viruses in host cell and establish new therapeutic strategies. However, the computational approach for protein-protein interaction between FMDV and pig hosts have not been applied to studies of the onset mechanism of FMDV. In the present work, we have performed the prediction of the pig's proteins which interact with FMDV based on RNA-Seq data, protein sequence, and structure information. After identifying the virus-host interaction, we looked for meaningful pathways and anticipated changes in the host caused by infection with FMDV. A total of 78 proteins of pig were predicted as interacting with FMDV. The 156 interactions include 94 interactions predicted by sequence-based method and the 62 interactions predicted by structure-based method using domain information. The protein interaction network contained integrin as well as STYK1, VTCN1, IDO1, CDH3, SLA-DQB1, FER, and FGFR2 which were related to the up-regulation of inflammation and the down-regulation of cell adhesion and host defense systems such as macrophage and leukocytes. These results provide clues to the knowledge and mechanism of how FMDV affects the host cell.
Influences of Tobacco-Related Knowledge on Awareness and Behavior towards Smoking

<P><B>Background</B></P><P>A considerable amount of research has shown that knowledge and appropriate awareness are essential for encouraging positive behaviors and promoting health. In Korea, the roles that behavioral changes play in the prevention of cancer have been an important issue since the introduction of the 10 codes for cancer prevention in 2006. Thus, the present study investigated the associations of tobacco-related knowledge with awareness and attitudes towards positive smoking-cessation behaviors.</P><P><B>Methods</B></P><P>The present study analyzed data from the 2010 national questionnaire survey (n = 1,006). This study evaluated sociodemographic characteristics, smoking status, self-rated health status, health-related interests, and the accuracy of 12 tobacco-related statements to determine knowledge level and to investigate its impact on awareness and behaviors related to smoking. These parameters were examined and staged using the Precaution Adoption Process Model.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>A higher level of tobacco-related knowledge was significantly associated with a positive attitude towards smoking cessation (5–8 correct answers: odds ratio [OR], 2.53; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.57–4.08; ≥ 9 correct answers: OR, 3.90; 95% CI, 2.22–6.82; reference: ≤ 4 correct answers). Interestingly, among current smokers, only those who correctly responded to ≥ 9 of 12 tobacco-related statements were significantly associated with a positive attitude towards smoking cessation.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>This study found that having a higher level of tobacco-related knowledge had a significant impact on positive attitudes towards smoking cessation. This suggests that there is a need to disseminate appropriate knowledge to the general population to encourage positive attitudes and promote healthful behaviors in terms of smoking.</P>

본 연구의 목적은 대학생들의 그릿 수준에 따른 행복도의 차이를 분석하고 행복도에 그릿의 어떤 하위 변인이 영향을 주는지 알아보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 부산의 P대학 재학생을 대상으로 설문을 실시한 결과 총 3,006명의 응답이 분석에 사용되었다. 기술통계를 통해 행복도와 그릿 수준을 파악하고, 일원변량분석을 통해 그릿 수준에 따른 행복도의 차이를 알아보았다. 그리고 단계선택 중다회귀분석을 통해 행복도에 그릿의 어떤 하위요인이 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 그릿 수준에 따라 행복도 수준을 비교한 결과 두 수준은 비례하는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 이는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 회귀분석 결과 그릿이 행복에 미치는 영향력은 34.5%로 설명되며 행복의 하위요인 중 몰입요인에 가장 큰 영향을 끼치는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 그릿과 행복 간의 관계를 실증적으로 분석한 기초연구로 대학생의 만족스러운 대학생활과 사회생활을 위한 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이라 기대한다. 향후 연구에서 실질적으로 대학생의 그릿을 훈련시킬 수 있는 실행연구가 이루어진다면 보다 의미 있는 연구가 될 수 있을 것이다. The purpose of this study is to examine the level of happiness and grit of university students and to analyze if there is a difference in happiness depending on the level of grit and which grit affects happiness. A survey was conducted, that targeted 3,006 university students of a national university in Busan, Korea. Using one-way ANOVA, the difference in happiness level was recognized. Next, a multiple regression analysis was conducted to identify which grit affects happiness. Studies have shown that the higher the level of grit, the higher the level of happiness, and grit had a positive effect on happiness. This study empirically analyzes the positive relationship between grit and happiness, suggesting implications for the grit education of university students and will be the basis for a satisfactory university and social life. This study is meaningful in that it presented basic data for the satisfactory college life and social life of university students as a basic study that empirically analyzed the relationship between grit and happiness. It could also be a more meaningful study if a future study could be conducted to train a university student’s grit.

Carbon-coated sodium iron pyrophosphate ($Na_2FeP_2O_7$) was prepared by a simple and low-cost pyro-synthesis route for further use as the cathode for Na-ion batteries. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of the sample annealed at $650^{\circ}C$ confirmed the pure triclinic phase of $Na_2FeP_2O_7$. Electron microscopy studies revealed a cross linked plate shape morphology of the $Na_2FeP_2O_7$ sample. When tested for application in Na-ion battery, the $Na_2FeP_2O_7$ cathode showed two redox pairs in the potential window of 2.0-4.0 V. The cathode registered initial discharge and charge capacities of 80.85 and 90 mAh/g, respectively, with good cycling performance.
