In this paper, the study of upgrading feeders from radial to 3 possible loop arrangements has been discussed and the requirements of possible loop arrangements have also been simply discussed. Next, circulating currents have been analyzed for the 3 types of loop arrangements to find which type of arrangements can be simply used and what can be a constraint. Finally, the most suitable and feasible loop arrangement was recommended regarding constraints and requirements.

This study investigated the electrical and stability characteristics of Al 2 O 3 as a gate insulator, which was deposited by variousatomic layer deposition methods in top-gate staggered amorphous InGaZnO (a-IGZO) thin fi lm transistors. A trimethylaluminumprecursor was used as an Al source, and H 2 O gas (H 2 O device) and O 2 plasma with a long plasma time (O 2 LP device)and a short plasma time (O 2 SP device) were used as oxidants. The initial electrical characteristics, including the hysteresis,on–off current ratio, and subthreshold swing, were superior in the H 2 O device compared to the O 2 LP and O 2 SP devices. Inthe positive bias stress (PBS) results, the degradation characteristics showed a tendency similar to the transfer properties. However, under the negative bias illumination stress (NBIS), the stability of the H 2 O device was signifi cantly reduced comparedto the O 2 LP and O 2 SP devices. In this paper, the mechanism of instability, which has opposite results in terms of thePBS and NBIS for the three devices, was identifi ed using capacitance–voltage, three-terminal charge pumping as electricalanalysis techniques and secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS) as a physical analysis technique. It was confi rmed thatthe surface oxidation of a-IGZO deteriorates the interfacial properties, causing the transfer characteristics to degrade. Thecarbon of the Al 2 O 3 fi lm identifi ed via SIMS analysis acts as a trap layer, causing deterioration in the PBS. Alternatively, inthe NBIS, it was observed that the carbon acts as a capture site for photo-excited holes, thereby promoting device stability.

The heat from bulbs of automotive lamp is transferred to internal materials in the form of conduction, convection and radiation. The transferred heat causes deformation of lamp materials when it exceeds the heat-resistance limits. To reduce the effort from trial and error by failing the heat-resistance test after designing and producing lamps, using a simulation program is necessary at the design stage. A new internal heat-resistance prediction program with less errors is going to be developed, which covers conduction, convection and radiation based on experiments. The experimental facility is designed, according to variables we set, such as bulb powers, heat-resistant distance, boundary conditions, etc. By performing several preliminary tests, the operation of the facility was verified.

Selecting optimal load used in distribution optimization considering time-varying load demand is investigated in this paper. The objective of this paper is to select the most proper load of distribution system to have the biggest gain loss. Most method of past distribution reconfiguration did not consider the time-varying load demand. However, to get best result, time-varying load demand for 24 hours should be regarded. But, only the optimization with time-varying load demand cannot get the feasible dispatch scheme because it may require the hourly switching operation of electric devices which cause deterioration of switches life and switching loss. Therefore, selecting optimal load for loss minimization considering not only time-varying load demand but also switching is researched in this paper.

Most of conventional papers have aimed at minimizing system power loss or relieving overloads in the distribution system for ages. However, conventional papers have only used spot-loads which are maximum loads or average loads to minimize power loss so that the results of reconfiguration cannot be same at the other time periods. And if hourly reconfiguration is conducted, the loss of switching might be bigger than the loss reduction by the reconfiguration. Therefore, the purpose of reconfiguration should focus on reducing the distribution operation cost by considering not only loss reduction but also switching cost.

Robotic prosthetic hands are a device that helps to improve the quality of life for patients without hands. Recently, robotic prosthetic hands can perform various grasping patterns because of improvement of bioengineering and robotics. The research that automatically selects the appropriate operation according to the situation is important. Many previous studies have used EMG signals. However, EMG signals are difficult to generalize because EMG signals vary depending on the position of the muscle. In this study, we developed a system for controlling robotic prosthetic hands using images and deep learning to facilitate generalization. We also proposed a method for selecting a grasping target to be held in the image. These results will help to improve the quality of life of the robotic prosthetic hand user.
