The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of fuel stratification in the pre-mixture of DME and n-Butane, which have different auto-ignition characteristics, on reducing the pressure rise rate in HCCI engines. The new chemical reaction model was created by the mixing of DME and n-Butane, the existing chemical reaction model of DME and n-Butane was compared to verify the effects. The maximum pressure rise rate changes depended on the mixture ratios of DME and n-Butane. When DME was charged with stratification and n-Butane was charged with homogeneity, the maximum PRR was the lowest. The calculations were performed by CHEMKIN and modified by SENKIN.
