Let S_p(α) denote the class of the Spirallike functions of order α, 0 <|α|π/2. Let ∏_N denote the subset of S_p(α) consisting of all products z∏^N_j=1(1-u_jz)^-mt_j where m = 1+e^2iα, |u_j|= 1, t_j>0 for j = 1, …, N and ∑^N_j=1 = 1. In this paper we prove that extreme points of S_p(α) may be found which lie in ∏_N for some N ≥ 2. We are let to conjecture that all exreme points of S_p(α) lie in ∏_N for some N ≥ 1 and that every such function is an extreme point.

Acetaminophen (ApAP) is an electron donor capable of reducing radicals generated by redox cycling of hemeproteins. It acts on the prostaglandin H synthases (cyclooxygenases; COXs) to reduce the protoporphyrin radical cation in the peroxidase site of the enzyme, thus preventing the intra-molecular electron transfer that generates the Tyr385 radical required for abstraction of a hydrogen from arachidonic acid to initiate prostaglandin synthesis. Unrelated to this pharmacological action, metabolism of ApAP by CYPs yields an iminoquinone electrophile that is responsible for the hepatotoxicity, which results from high doses of the drug. We synthesized novel heterocyclic phenols predicted to be electron donors. Two of these inhibited the oxygenation of arachidonic acid by PGHS-1 and myoglobin and also were shown to be more metabolically stable and exhibited less direct cytotoxicity than acetaminophen. They are leading candidates for studies to determine whether they are free of the metabolism-based hepatotoxicity produced by acetaminophen.
A multiwavelength analysis of a collection of short-duration GRBs observed between 2012 and 2015

<B>Abstract</B><P>We investigate the prompt emission and the afterglow properties of short-duration gamma-ray burst (sGRB) 130603B and another eight sGRB events during 2012-2015, observed by several multiwavelength facilities including the Gran Canarias Telescope 10.4 m telescope. Prompt emission high energy data of the events were obtained by INTEGRAL-SPI-ACS, Swift-BAT, and Fermi-GBM satellites. The prompt emission data by INTEGRAL in the energy range of 0.1-10 MeV for sGRB 130603B, sGRB 140606A, sGRB 140930B, sGRB 141212A, and sGRB 151228A do not show any signature of the extended emission or precursor activity and their spectral and temporal properties are similar to those seen in case of other short bursts. For sGRB 130603B, our new afterglow photometric data constrain the pre-jet-break temporal decay due to denser temporal coverage. For sGRB 130603B, the afterglow light curve, containing both our new and previously published photometric data is broadly consistent with the ISM afterglow model. Modeling of the host galaxies of sGRB 130603B and sGRB 141212A using the LePHARE software supports a scenario in which the environment of the burst is undergoing moderate star formation activity. From the inclusion of our late-time data for eight other sGRBs we are able to: place tight constraints on the non-detection of the afterglow, host galaxy, or any underlying ‘kilonova’ emission. Our late-time afterglow observations of the sGRB 170817A/GW170817 are also discussed and compared with the sub-set of sGRBs.</P>
Effects of spark dielectric barrier discharge plasma on water sterilization and seed germination

This study investigated the effects of spark dielectric barrier discharge (SDBD) plasma on water sterilization and seed germination using an in-situ treatment method. The plasma diagnostics used I–V characteristics and optical emission spectroscopy. The electron, rotational, and vibrational temperature, as well as electron density were measured. The findings revealed that SDBD plasma treatment caused significant changes in the physicochemical properties of the liquids. In addition, the concentrations of H2O2, NO2− and NO3− were increased after 8 min of plasma treatment to 30, 40, and 100 mgL−1, respectively. The effectiveness of the SDBD plasma treatment was evaluated based on bacterial inactivation and seed germination. After 8 min of plasma treatment, an almost complete removal of E. coli and S. aureus was achieved. Furthermore, the germination of coriander seeds was enhanced when they were treated with SDBD plasma for 5 min. SDBD plasma shows promise for water sterilization, seed germination, and sustainability.
