We have uncovered 14 Korean royal astronomers and one scientist who worked in the early and mid-18th century. In spite of their high positions in the government office, all of them but one were not recorded anywhere in the major histories, such as WangjoSillok (王朝實錄) and JeungboMunheonBigo (增補文獻備考). Our search of Bon'gwans for each person has been carried successfully for 13 scientists. Their family relations are also uncovered finding five eminent astronomy families.
CN Observations of Comet Bennett 1969i

베�륜꿋�1969i)을 靑色 CN分子帶인 4160Å과 隣接한 連續스텍트럼인 4275Å의 두 波長嶺域에서 光電觀測을 하였다. 連續스텍트럼에서 보다 약간 强한 1.1倍의 CN-放出에너지를 彗星의 머리에서 檢出할 수 있었다. Wurm의 略算法에 依하여 計算된 CN分子의 總數는 1×10^15≤N(CN)≤12×10^15 로 나타났다. Photoelectric observations of Comet Bennett 1969i were made at two wavelength regions, 4160Å and 4275Å, for the blue CN molecular band and for the adjacent continuum, respectively. The weak CN-emission was detected in the comet’s head, which was found to be a factor of 1.1 over the continuum flux. The total number of CN molecules computed with the approximate method proposed by Wurm yields 1×10^15≤N(CN)≤12×10^15.
English as a Medium of Instruction : Challenges for Vietnamese Tertiary Lecturers

The development of English as a medium of instruction (EMI) is of great interest to language and language policy researchers in an era of globalization and internationalization. Despite recognition of a number of implementational problems and constraints, EMI has been widely introduced into various non-native English-speaking (NNES) countries. The question of what challenges face stakeholders in the implementation of EMI was our major focus in a two-year project that investigated a new EMI undergraduate program in Vietnam. Selected findings from the study’s interview component reveal that lecturers were challenged by their own language abilities, students’ language competence and learning styles, pedagogical issues, and resource availability. Based on these findings, suggestions are made for enhancing the success of similar programs.
A Study of the 1668 Deungrok, Records of Celestial Phenomena from the Joseon Dynasty

This paper will introduce and overview in general the Seongbyeon Deungrok issued by the Gwansang-gam, the Astronomical Board in the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. All the Chinese characters in the 1668 Seongbyeon Deungrok was deciphered at first and these were translated into Korean and English. With these translations and the word ‘white vapor’ in particular we discuss the nature of the main object in this Deungrok. Lastly, names of observers who engaged in the observations of this 1668 celestial, which are made as a by-product of this research, are introduced.

Heisenberg 强磁性體의 Curie溫度 附近에서 比熱의 溫度 依存性을 지난 硏究에서 얻은 Green函數 理論에 의하여 硏究하였다. Heisenberg 强磁性體 Spin系에 關한 攝動 Green函數의 運動方程式의 解를 Callen Decoupling 近似方法으로 線型化시켜 求하였고 이 解를 利用하여 Spin의 相關函數를 計算하였다. Spin 相關函數를 利用하여 얻은 Heisenberg 强磁性體의 比熱 溫度依存性이 다른 硏究結果와 一致함을 얻었다. The temperature dependence of the specific heat above the Curie temperature of the Heisenberg ferromegnets has been studied by use of thermal Green function theory developed in previous work. The spin correlation functions have been calculated from the solutions of the equation of motion of the perturbed Green function of the Heisenberg ferromagnet spin system, after linearizing by the Callen decoupling approximation, And then the specific heat of the Heisenberg ferromagnets was calculated from the spin correlation functions. The temperature dependence of the specific heat was found to be consistent with the other works.

Storage protein-2(SP2) of Hyphantria cunea(Lepidoptera) was confirmed from hemolymph of the last instar larvae and purified using salting out, cation exchange chromatography, and gel permeation chromatography. The purity of isolated SP2 was monitored by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. SP2 is composed of single type subunit which has a molecular weight of 82.5 kDa. PI value of SP2 was determined to be 6.9. Based on the amino acid composition, SP2 is not regarded as arylphorin. SP2 bears some homology in its N-terminal sequence with the arylphorins of Hymenoptera and Diptera as well as Lepidoptera.
