Fuzzy-Sliding Mode Speed Control for Two Wheels Electric Vehicle Drive

Nasri, Abdelfatah,Hazzab, Abdeldjabar,Bousserhane, Ismail Khalil,Hadjeri, Samir,Sicard, Pierre The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2009 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.4 No.4

Electric vehicles (EV) are developing fast during this decade due to drastic issues on the protection of environment and the shortage of energy sources, so new technologies allow the development of electric vehicles (EV) by means of electric motors associated with static converters. The proposed propulsion system consists of two induction motors (IM) that ensure the drive of the two back driving wheels. The electronic differential system ensures the robust control of the vehicle behavior on the road. It also allows controlling, independently, every driving wheel to turn at different speeds in any curve. This paper presents the study of an hybrid Fuzzy-sliding mode control (SMC) strategy for the electric vehicle driving wheels, stability improvement, in which the fuzzy logic system replace the discontinuous control action of the classical SMC law. Our electric vehicle fuzzy-sliding mode control's simulated in Matlab SIMULINK environment, the results obtained present the efficiency of the proposed control with no overshoot, the rising time is perfected with good disturbances rejections comparing with the classical control law.

The Risk Factors for Musculoskeletal Symptoms During Work From Home Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic

2023 Safety and health at work Vol.14 No.1

Background: Online teaching and learning extend the duration of using gadgets such as mobile phones and tablets. A prolonged usage of these gadgets in a static position can lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSD). Therefore, this study aims to identify the risk factors related to musculoskeletal symptoms while using gadgets during work from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A cross-sectional survey with online-based questionnaires was collected from the University of Indonesia, consisting of lecturers, students, and managerial staff. The minimum number of respondents was 1,080 and was defined by stratified random sampling. Furthermore, the dependent variable was musculoskeletal symptoms, while the independent were age, gender, job position, duration, activity when using gadgets, and how to hold them. Result: Most of the respondents had mobile phones but only 16% had tablets. Furthermore, about 56.7% have used a mobile phone for more than 10 years, while about 89.7% have used a tablet for less than 10 years. A multivariate analysis found factors that were significantly associated with MSD symptoms while using a mobile phone, such as age, gender, web browsing activity, work, or college activities. These activities include doing assignments and holding the phone with two hands with two thumbs actively operating. The factors that were significantly associated with MSD symptoms when using tablets were gender, academic position, social media activity, and placing the tablet on a table with two actively working index fingers. Conclusion: Therefore, from the results of this study it is necessary to have WFH and e-learning policies to reduce MSD symptoms and enhance productivity at work.

        Language,Education ; Persian EFL Learners` Cross-Cultural Understanding and Their L2 Proficiency

( Azadeh Nasri Nasrabady ),( Abbass Islami Rasekh ),( Reza Biria ) 경희대학교 글로벌인문학술원 2011 비교문화연구 Vol.24 No.-

The totality of language learning comprises three integrated components: linguistic, cultural, and attitudinal (Wilkes, 1983).Positively sensitizing students to cultural phenomena is urgent and crucial. A positive attitude toward L2 culture is a factor in language learning that leads to cross cultural understanding. This research examined, through a survey analysis, how three groups of students (one high school group and two university student groups) viewed the role of their foreign culture (i.e., American and British cultures) in achieving cultural understanding. The focus was upon how EFL learners approach the target language culture as well as their own culture.

Uniform Micellization: The Key to Enhanced Mechanical Strength and Swelling Efficiency of Chitosan Hydrogel

        Bijan Nasri-Nasrabadi,Akif Kaynak,Cynthia Wong,Pejman Heidarian,Khashayar Badii,Abbas Z. Kouzani 한국섬유공학회 2019 Fibers and polymers Vol.20 No.1

The fabrication of hydrophilic porous hydrogel, with high mechanical strength and good uptake capacity is desirable for a broad range of applications such as drug delivery and liquid sensors. The usual methods are limited to the production of structures with high density of covalently crosslinked networks that restricts the polymer chain rearrangement, resulting in non-uniformed pore size distribution. Covalent networks also limit the activity of functional groups and influence the uptake properties of the polymer. In this study, we proposed simple cyclic cryogelation for the fabrication of hydrogels with uniform pore sizes via controlling the micellization and crystal formation. The chitosan based hydrogels ionically crosslinked with 8 % (w/v) of tripoli phosphate sodium (TPP) displayed high Young’s modulus (63 MPa) after cyclic freezethawing. The liquid uptake capacity of the samples treated with 8 % (w/v) TPP solution at pH 4 showed a slight decrease of about 29 % in comparison to that of non-cyclic processed samples (36 %).

        Aneurysmal bone cyst: a review

Elham Nasri,John David Reith 대한병리학회 2023 Journal of Pathology and Translational Medicine Vol.57 No.2

Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign locally destructive bone neoplasm composed of multi-loculated blood-filled cystic spaces. The most common sites of involvement are the meta-diaphysis of the long bones and posterior elements of the vertebrae. Secondary, ABClike changes can complicate a variety of other benign and malignant primary bone neoplasms, including giant cell tumor, fibrous dysplasia, and osteosarcoma. About two-third of primary ABCs have a rearrangement of the USP6 gene, which is not present in the ABC-like changes that occur secondary to other primary bone tumors (i.e., secondary ABC). Primary ABC of bone carries a variable but generally high rate of local recurrence. This paper provides an overview of the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, radiographic and pathologic findings, treatment, and prognosis of ABC.

High Levels Lycopene Accumulation by Dietzia natronolimnaea HS-1 Using Lycopene Cyclase Inhibitors in a Fed-batch Process

Mohammad Reza Nasri Nasrabadi,Seyed Hadi Razavi 한국식품과학회 2010 Food Science and Biotechnology Vol.19 No.4

In an attempt to accumulate lycopene in the bacterium Dietzia natronolimnaea HS-1 cultured in beet molasses, the influence of lycopene cyclase inhibitors on carotenogenesis (within the range 0-60 ppm) were evaluated. All inhibitors blocked the biosynthesis of canthaxanthin and resulted in accumulation of lycopene as the predominant carotenoid. As the final step of a study aiming at the optimization of culture conditions, a central composite design to a fed-batch process was applied to optimize the concentrations of lycopene cyclase inhibitors (within the range 0-50 ppm) in order to achieve high level accumulation of lycopene from D. natronolimnaea HS-1cultured in beet molasses. On the basis of this approach, the optimum concentrations of lycopene cyclase inhibitors required to achieve the highest level of lycopene accumulation (8.26±0.17 mg/L) were determined as follows: imidazole,24.74 ppm; nicotinic acid, 28 ppm; piperidine, 24.05 ppm;pyridine, 27.6 ppm; and triethylamine, 23.22 ppm.

      • Bioaccumulation of heavy metals in maricultured fish, Lates calcarifer (Barramudi), Lutjanus campechanus (red snapper) and Lutjanus griseus (grey snapper)

        Nasyitah Sobihah, Nasri,Ahmad Zaharin, Aris,Khairul Nizam, Mohammad,Ley Juen, Looi,Kyoung-Woong, Kim Elsevier 2018 CHEMOSPHERE - Vol.197 No.-

Abstract

Mariculture fish contains a rich source of protein, but some species may bioaccumulate high levels of heavy metals, making them unsafe for consumption. This study aims to identify heavy metal concentration in Lates calcarifer (Barramudi), Lutjanus campechanus (Red snapper) and Lutjanus griseus (Grey snapper). Three species of mariculture fish, namely, L. calcarifer, L. campechanus and L. griseus were collected for analyses of heavy metals. The concentration of heavy metal (As, Cd, Cu, Cr, Fe, Pb, Mn, Ni, Se, and Zn) was determined using inductive coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The distribution of heavy metals mean concentration in muscle is Zn > Fe > As > Se > Cr > Cu > Mn > Pb > Ni > Cd for L. calcarifer, Fe > Zn > Cr > As > Ni > Mn > Se > Cu > Pb > Cd for L. campechanus and Fe > Zn > Cr > Ni > Se > Cu > As > Mn > Pb > Cd for L. griseus. Among all of the species under investigation, the highest concentration of Fe was found in the muscle tissue of L. campechanus (19.985 ± 1.773 mg kg−1) and liver tissue of L. griseus (58.248 ± 8.736 mg kg−1). Meanwhile, L. calcarifer has the lowest concentration of Cd in both muscle (0.007 ± 0.004 mg kg−1) and liver tissue (0.027 ± 0.016 mg kg−1). The heavy metal concentration in muscle tissue is below the permissible limit guidelines stipulated by the Food & Agriculture Organization, 1983 and Malaysia Food Act, 1983. The concentration of heavy metals varies significantly among fish species and tissues. L. campechanus was found to have a higher ability to accumulate heavy metals as compared to the other two species (p < .00). Among all the studied fish, liver tissue has a higher concentration of heavy metals compared to muscle tissue (p < .05). The findings from this study can serve as baseline information for future monitoring and risk assessment studies. Periodic monitoring of heavy metal concentration in mariculture fish must be performed to prevent acute and chronic food intoxication.

Highlights

Species were chosen due to the most extensive maricultured species in estuaries.

Species chosen were the most consumable fish species in Asian region.

High metals concentration had been observed in L. campechanus.

Liver tissues possessed higher metal concentration than muscle tissues.

Studied metals were below than the permissible limit.
