본 연구는 폐석재와 석분을 사용하여 친환경적인 식생블럭 제품을 개발하기 위하여 폐석재의 입경과 석분의 첨가량을 각각 3종류씩 총 9종류의 식생블럭에 대하여 단위중량, 공극율, 투수량, 압축강도, 쪼갬인장강도, 휨강도, 내산성, 알카리농도에 대하여 구명하였다. 단위중량, 강도, 내산성은 골재의 입경이 작을수록 석분의 혼입량이 많을수록 크게 나타났으며, 공극율과 투수량은 작게 나타났다. 강도는 중성화 처리 유무에 따라 4∼5% 정도의 미소한 차이가 나타났다. 알카리 농도는 중성화 약품처리, 수중용출, 야외폭로 순으로 효과가 크게 나타났으며, 이는 식생블럭의 중성화 방법 선택에 매우 중요한 내용이라 할 수 있다. 또한, 식생상태는 공극율과 골재의 입경이 큰 식생블럭이 생육에 유리한 것으로 나타났다. This study was performed to develop the environment-friendly plantable block and to evaluate unit weight, void ratio, permeability, strength, acid-resistance and value of pH by the change of the grading of waste stone and the addition amount of stone dust. The unit weight, strength, acid-resistance is increased with small size of waste stone with increase of the addition amount of stone dust. But, the void ratio and permeability is decreased. The strength of neutral plantable block is decreased approximately 4-5% than that of the normal plantable block. The decreased effect of pH increased in order to neutral treatment, underwater leaching and field exposure. It is very important contents in neutral method selection of plantable block. Also, the planting state is grown rapidly with increase of the void ratio and of the waste stone size, approximately.

In this study, design air temperature was modified by adding new weather data of recent 10 years. Also, the computing program to easily calculate a heating loads was developed. As applying with new weather data, greenhouse heater capacity could be lessen 4.5 as percentage than using the existing weather data. It is expected that more exact prediction for consumed fuel amount during heating periods by using the recent design weather data.
Compatibility of Diazepam with Polypropylene Multilayer Infusion Container

Techflex$^{(R)}$, a polypropylene-lined, multilayer infusion bag, was studied for its compatibility with diazepam, in comparison to the conventional infusion bag, Safeflex$^{(R)}$, which is comprised of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC). Diazepam was diluted in 0.9% sodium chloride isotonic solution and stored in the infusion bags for 24 h. To evaluate the sorption of diazepam into the infusion bags during storage, the concentration of the drug remaining in the bag was measured using gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy. The PVC bags exhibited a marked sorption of diazepam, with a drug loss reaching up to 90% of the initial concentration after 24 h of contact, whereas Techflex$^{(R)}$ inhibited the drug sorption, showing approximately 10%, under the same conditions. The differences in the sorption behaviors of the bags are discussed in terms of solubility parameters and crystallinities of the polymers.
Increased Expression of Histone Deacetylase 2 is Found in Human Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Accumulated evidences have established that aberrant regulation of histone deacetylases (HDACs) is one of major causes for development of human malignancies. Mammalian HDACs can be divided into three subclasses consisting of 11 homologous of HDACs and 7 of sirtuins, but little is known about HDAC2 causes for carcinogenesis in solid tumors. Here, in order to investigate the roles of HDAC2 in carcinogenesis of liver cancer progression, we analyzed the expression of HDAC2 in 62 human hepatocellular carcinomas by utilizing Immunohistochemistry. Moderate to strong expression of HDAC2 was found in 54 (87%) out of total 62 tumors. The majority of positive tumors were detected in nucleous, but normal hepatocytes did not express of HDAC2 or showed weak positive staining. Interestingly, we were also noted that HDAC2 expression was appeared to be associated with aggressiveness of the tumors by the fact that HDAC2 expression was observed with significances in high grade tumors (Edmonson grade II, III). Taken together, we found the aberrant expression of HDAC2 in hepatocellular carcinomas, and this suggests that HDAC2 may play an important role in the development of liver cancer.

The nonfunctioning islet cell tumors of pancreas are not associated with obvious sign and symptoms of hormone overproduction. Symptoms, most commonly pain and jaundice, are due to the mass effect of the tumor and invasion of the surrounding structures, and unlike functioning tumors, the location of the tumor has a direct bearing on the patient's symptoms. We have experienced a case of benign nonfunctioning islet cell tumor of the pancreas in 47-year-old female. She was admitted to our hospital due to palpable large mass of her abdomen. She had no obvious sign and symptoms of hormone overproduction. The exploratory laparatomy was done under the impression of retroperitoneal tumor with the information of radiologic finding and abdominal C-T scan. The pathologic diagnosis was benign nonfunctioning is-let cell tumor of the pancreas.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The thermal shield (TS) provides the thermal barrier in the ITER tokamak to minimize heat load transferred by thermal radiation from the hot components to the superconducting magnets operating at 4.2K. The TS is actively cooled by 80K pressurized helium gas which flows from the cold valve box to the cooling tubes on the TS panels via manifold piping. This paper describes the manifold piping design and analysis for the ITER thermal shield. First, maximum allowable span for the manifold support is calculated based on the simple beam theory. In order to accommodate the thermal contraction in the manifold feeder, a contraction loop is designed and applied. Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) method is used to determine the optimized dimensions of the contraction loop to ensure adequate flexibility of manifold pipe. Global structural behavior of the manifold is investigated when the thermal movement of the redundant (un-cooled) pipe is large.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> We finalized piping design of ITER thermal shield manifold for procurement. </LI> <LI> Support span is determined by stress and deflection limitation. </LI> <LI> SQP, which is design optimization method, is used for the pipe design. </LI> <LI> Benchmark analysis is performed to verify the analysis software. </LI> <LI> Pipe design is verified by structural analyses. </LI> </UL> </P>

<P>To understand the structural stability of as-prepared octanethiol (OT) self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) with a fully covered c(4x2) phase on Au(111) in ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) conditions of 3x10(-7) Pa at room temperature, we examined OT SAM samples obtained as a function of storage period using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). STM imaging revealed that phase transition of OT SAMs after storage in UHV for 3 days occurs from the c(4x2) phase to the mixed phase containing ordered c(4x2) and disordered phases. It was also observed that the disordered phase was mainly located at around vacancy islands and near step edges of Au(111) terraces, implying that desorption of OT molecules chemisorbed on Au(111) in UHV occurs more quickly in these regions compared with in the closely packed and ordered domains. After a longer storage in UHV for 6 days, OT SAMs with the c(4x2) phase were changed to the disordered phase containing a partially ordered domain with a row structure. From this study, we clearly demonstrated that OT molecules in SAMs on Au(111) are desorbed spontaneously in UHV at room temperature, resulting in the formation of disordered and row phases.</P>
