Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is an enzyme acting subsequent to alcohol dehydrogenase in the major pathway of alcohol metabolism. In addition, ALDH1A1 has been known to be involved in the oxidation of retinaldehyde to retinoic acid (RA), acting as transcriptional regulators. It is well known that ALDH1A1 is overexpressed in cancer stem cells and plays an important role in the biology of cancer. During screening compounds for ALDH1A1 inhibition, a novel molecule, Compound A (2-[1-(3-ethoxycarbonyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1-benzothiophen-2-yl)-2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-3-yl] sulfanyl benzoic acid) was found in the NIH chemical libraries. In this study, a liquid chromatographic-quadrupole timeof-flight mass spectrometric (LC-TOF-MS) method was developed for the quantification of Compound A in pharmacokinetic (PK) study in rat. Two M HCl was added before protein precipitation to stabilize Compound A in rat plasma. A quadratic regression (weighted 1/concentration) was used to fit calibration curves over the concentration range of 81.48-19800 ng/mL for Compound A. Using the time-concentration PK profile in rat, two-compartment model was selected as the PK prediction model. In addition, parameter sensitivity analysis was used to evaluate the PK parameters affecting the exposure of Compound A.

We have developed an Identification and Quantification by GlycoProteome Analyzer (IQ-GPA) for high throughput analysis of N- and O-glycoproteome. Herein, we introduce the web version of IQ-GPA for a database search and algorithmic suite with tandem mass spectrometry of HCD/CID/ETD (EThcD) in a shotgun experiment. We have designed to easily handle high-throughput glycoproteomic data with graphical user interfaces, and users can instantly access to a range of Glycan Database Builder as well as N and O-GPA modules using Microsoft Azure cloud platforms. With spectra files and the glycopeptide database of interest, the modules identify and quantify intact N- and O-linked glycopeptides in the complex samples, which requires the following steps: 1) DB Builder Module generates a GPA database using the detailed parameters after select working directory. 2) Analysis Module requires a spectrum file and a GPA-Database to analyze N- and O- glycopeptides with user specific parameters. 3) GPA Report Module shows the results and statistical charts on the website. In addition, IQ-GPA contains a module for the classification of N-glycopeptides as core- and outer-fucosylated types using the artificial intelligence ( https://www.iqgpa.org ).

The complex dose distribution and dose transfer characteristics of intensity-modulated radiotherapy increase the importance of precise beam data measurement and review in the acceptance inspection and preparation stages. In this study, we propose a process map for the introduction and installation of high-precision radiotherapy devices and present items and guidelines for risk management at the acceptance test procedure (ATP) and commissioning stages. Based on the ATP of the Varian and Elekta linear accelerators, the ATP items were checked step by step and compared with the quality assurance (QA) test items of the AAPM TG-142 described for the medical accelerator QA. Based on the commissioning procedure, dose quality control protocol, and mechanical quality control protocol presented at international conferences, step-by-step check items and commissioning guidelines were derived. The risk management items at each stage were (1) 21 ionization chamber performance test items and 9 electrometer, cable, and connector inspection items related to the dosimetry system; (2) 34 mechanical and dose-checking items during ATP, 22 multileaf collimator (MLC) items, and 36 imaging system items; and (3) 28 items in the measurement preparation stage and 32 items in the measurement stage after commissioning. Because the items presented in these guidelines are limited in terms of special treatment, items and practitioners can be modified to reflect the clinical needs of the institution. During the system installation, it is recommended that at least two clinically qualified medical physicists (CQMP) perform a double check in compliance with the two-person rule. We expect that this result will be useful as a radiation safety management tool that can prevent radiation accidents at each stage during the introduction of radiotherapy and the system installation process.

Although traditional UX evaluation methods have focused on the experience users undergo when they actually use a service or product, the first impression that users obtain before actually using it is also an important factor to take into consideration. Previous studies have found that users form the first impression about an interface design in just a few seconds and quickly decide on whether to stay on or leave the interface. Furthermore, the first impression that is formed at the moment that users face the interface influences subsequent decisions they make, having impact on their task performance and preferences later on. Regarding such a significant role of the first impression, the current research suggests a brain based measurement method, EEG, as a solution to measure the first impression of users. Specifically, with EEG as an experimental method, this study aims at judging user’s first impression on an interface and understanding the underlying neural mechanisms for the process by which the first impressions are formed.
Convincing Factors in Choosing in e-book and Paper book

The issue that of whether e-books would replace printed books have been controversial and the difference between e-book and printed book is still being researched by researchers. Many studies on e-book and printed book have analyzed their advantages and disadvantages, and also suggested ideas to improve the usage of e-book. In the experiment, 18 participants were recruited and exposed to the three different types of media (iPad, Galaxy Tab, and print book). The usability and performance of each media were measured by questionnaires along with the intention of buying one of the media from the experiment. The results imply that the higher familiarity of media is, the more convincing to participants in buying a certain media among other types of media.
전기화학적 합성 방법이 Polyaniline 특성에 미치는 영향

Electrochemical synthesis of polyaniline (PAni) was carried out using two different techniques: potentiodynamic and potentiostatic methods. The electrochemical data were obtained from cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry measurements. Conducting emeraldine salt form was confirmed with UV-Vis and FT-IR spectroscopy. The effects of synthethic methods on electrical conductivity of the film were studied using four-point probe measurement. Morphologies of the films were observed with SEM.
