        In an incident using the numerical method of CPQRA (Chemical Process Quantitative Risk Anslysis), it was estimated a risk for the dispersion of toxic materials as MIC, Acrolein and Toluene. Because CPQRA contained a many variation elements in spite of the approval error as the conditions of wind speed, weather stability class and dispersion coefficients etc., we could know that its accuracy is very high and it calculate an effect distance for each concentration, concentration for calculated spots and effect categories and areas in dispersion of toxic materials. Using these data, it would be used of a basic method in the evaluation of a risk degree and the prevention and protection of an incident. Also it would be used to motive for development of new difpersion model at the atmosphere which is near by real conditions for the numerical method of CPQRA, especially it would provide basic information and a development of nontoxic alternative materials in human body.

      • 에틸메타크릴레이트의 환경친화적인 광중합특성에 관한 연구

        Photopolymerization, the utilization of electromagnetic radiation(or light) as the energy source for polymerization of functional monomers, oligomers is the basis of important commercial processes with broad applicability, including photoimaging and UV curing of coatings and inks. The objective of this study is to investigate the characteristics of environmental fraternitive photopolymerization of ethyl methacrylate(EMA). This work is the second step to continue further research about alkyl methacrylate. The experiment has been carred out in aqueous solution under the influence of photo-initiator concentration(0.05∼0.25mol/H_2O_2), light intensity(5000∼9000μJ/cm^2) and monomer concentration(2∼6mol/EMA). EMA was polymerized to high conversion ratio using hydrogen peroxide (H_2O_2), and the kinetics model which we have obtained is as follows. R_P=k_p[S]^0.28[M]^0.41[L]^1.58exp^(33.30/RT) The differential method of thermogravimetric analysis(Friedman method) was used to obtain value of activation energy on decomposition reaction. The average value of it is 31.9 kcal/mol and is similiar to the activation energy of orginal polymerization.

        부틸메타크릴레이트의 환경친화적인 광중합 및 열분해특성

        This study is the series of photopolymerization on alkyl methacrylate(AMA) to continue further research. The objective of this work is to investigate the environmental fraternitive characteristics of photopolymerization kinetics on n-Buthyl methacrylate(BMA) and comparing the decomposition behavior to other AMA. The experiment was done in aqueous solution under the influence of photo-initiator concentration(0.05~0.25㏖/l), light intensity(5000~9000??/㎠) and monomer concentration(2.0~6.0㏖/l). n-BMA was polymerized to high conversion ratio using hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2), and the kinetics model we have obtained is as follows. R_p=k_p[S]^0.24[M]^0.33[L]^1.53exp^(27.19/RT) The differential method of thermogravimetric analysis(Friedman method) was used to obtain value of activation energy on decomposition reaction. The average value of it was 27.5㎉/㏖.

      • CHARACTERISTICS OF FIRE PROTECTIVE COATING THE TERNARY SOLUBLE SILICATE

        The fire protective coating can reduce certain damages in case of fire, also conserve energy by thermal insulation and prevent corrosion and errosion in normal daily life by means of blocking thermal transfer, that were generally made of organic, inorganic and metallic materials as adiabatic coating. In case of inorganic material such as soluble silicate, it produces less toxic substances which are exposed to Ore, and have a plenty of raw material. Also inorganic thermal insulator is good in heat resistance. To develope such a excellent inorganic thermal insulator, the study of fire protective coating using the alkali silicate is necessary The principle of intumescence for alkali silicate is from rapid evolution of water in the coating material, the quantity of water in it is of course influenced on the degree of intumescence. The phenomenon of intumescence in ternary silicate is increased as the radius of ion is bigger, and this is caused by evolution of so many kinds of water. The individual degree of intumescence is ordered like this ; <TEX>$K^+$</TEX> > <TEX>$Na^+$</TEX> > <TEX>$Li^+$</TEX> . The best protection effect is similarity found to intumescence of ternary silicate. The result of X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that <TEX>$KHSi_2O_5$</TEX> is an important ingredient in K-silicate.

        PVAc 라텍스 접착제의 열적 안정성에 대한 고찰

        Latex polymers are widely used for adhesive, binder, paint etc. Especially the PVAc(Polyvinyl acetate) latex which manufactured by vinyl acetate and vinyl alcohol as protective colloid is a useful environmentally friendly adhesive. To increase useful property of PVAc latex, this study was carried out for checking thermal characteristics and physical condition of PVAc latex by DSC, FT-IR, Pyrolyzer GC-MS. The activation energies of thermal decomposition for 40, 48, 56, 64% solid content of PVAc latex were found as 28.1~36.0kcal/mol by Kissinger's method and 17.2~22.0kcal/mol by DSC method. Actually, reasonable solid content could be consiered as 56% because of activation energy and adhesive characteristics. According to the effect of protective colloid for 4, 10, 15, 20wt%, the activation energy shows same tendency to both method and in case of 15wt% has been found as the highest activation energy. The mechanism of thermal decomposition was mainly estimated by main chain scission, not by side group on FT-IR analysis. Main component of Pyrolyzer GC-MS result were consisted of CH₃COOH, CH₃, H₂O and light gases(CO, CO₂, CH₄ etc).

        CaCO_3/Poly ethyl methacrylate를 이용한 무독성 혼합라텍스의 개발

        Core-shell polymers of inorganic/organic pair, which are consisted of both core and shell component, were synthesized by sequential emulsion polymerization using ethyl methacrylate (EMA) as a shell monomer and ammonium persulfate as initiator. We found that CaCO_3 core should be prepared by adding 2.0wt% SDBS(sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate), CaCO_3 core/PEMA shell polymeriation was carried out on the surface of CaCO_3 particle during EMA shell polymerization in the core-shell polymer preparation. The structure of core-shell polymer were investigated by measuring the degree on decomposition of CaCO_3 by HCI solution, thermal decomposition of polymer composite on thermogravimetric analyzer, glass transition temperature on differential scanning calorimeter, and morphology using scanning electron microscope.

        산업폐수 슬럿지를 이용한 경량골재 개발에 관한 연구

        Among the disposal techniques of inorganic wastewater sludges from industries, most of sludges were dealed with buring underground inefficiently. But we have tried to recycle the resources that exhausted inorganic sludges were properly blended to certain ratioes to make lightweight aggregate, that means manufacturing of it can be possible through blending of various components, drying, sintering, cooling and crushing to certain sizes that are needed by consumers. As disposal method of inorganic wastewater sludge is changed to environmentally fraternative method, this method could be very useful to make lightweight aggregates for decoration of building and the other so many purposes of those usages. That could be economically useful due to expected income for buring costs of ordinary disposal method from industries and sales income after manufacturing it. The second important profit is saving foreign currency from purchasing self-developed lightweight aggregate instead of importing expensive foreign product. This product will be also very impressive to user because of the fraternative lightweight to be composed of apatite structure that is important part of human body.

      • 活性炭에 의한 重金屬 시안化物 錯陰이온의 吸着特性

        It is the purpose of this study to investigate the possibility and mechanisms of complex formation for the removal of cyanide and toxic heavy metals from mining and electroplating industrial wastewater simultaneously. The adsorption forms of heavy metals from a synthesized wastecyanide water by activated carbon is discussed. Under the cyanide complexiation, mercury ion is adsorbed in the formation of complex anion as ?? and Hg(CN)₃, but zinc and cadmium are also as ?? and ?/?. The effects are established under the presence of ?? in the concentration range ?? mol/ℓto ?? mol/ℓand the presence of heavy metals.

      • 솔-젤법에 의한 Nb_2O_5-Fe_2O_3 혼합산화물의 제조 및 산 특성조사

        In this study, some of results from a study conducted on the preparation of niobium coated hematite particles to be used as a catalyst are presented.α-Fe_2O_3 (hematite) particles obtained by aging an acidic solution of ferric(Ⅲ) ions at high temperature were first prepared as core particles and synthesised by hydrolysis at high temperature with layers of amorphous niobium pentaoxide (Nb_2O_5) deposited by the hydrolysis of niobium pentachloride. The effects of varying molecular ratio of Nb/Fe (10/1, 5/1, 1/2, 1/5, 1/10) were studied. The synthesised particles were characterized for their physical and chemical properties using XRD, SEM, TPD, BET etc. The process of the surface coating showed heterocoagulation rather than surface nucleation and growth. A preliminary investigation of the acidic characterization and specific surface area of the synthesised particles showed that these particles can achieve an acidic characteristic changed and enhanced specific surface area of that of pure niobia and α-Fe_2O_3 prepared here.

        환경친화적인 무기/유기 Core-Shell의 제조에 관한 연구

        Composite particles using inorganic and organic chemicals were synthesized and the results of those reaction were compared to variation of temperature and agitation speed in presence of CaCO₃ which was adsorbed SDBS. Also the synthesises were optimized according to conversion rate of composite particles. In inorganic/organic core-shell composite particle polymerization, CaCO₃ adsorbed by 0.5wt% surfactant SDBS was prepared initially and then core CaCO₃ was encapsulated by sequential emulsion polymerization using MMA at the addition of APS 3.16X 10^(-3)mo1/L to minimize the coagulated PMMA particle itself during MMA shell polymerization. Encapsulated PMMA on CaCO₃ as inorganic/organic core-shell particles was verified by Fr-IR and DSC analysis. It was found that the CaCO₃ was very well encapsulated by PMMA as shell. The surfaces were distinctly found as spindle shape and broad particle distribution after capsulation.
