Background: Unani System of Medicine (USM) has its origin to Greece. To ensure and develop the quality, authenticity of Unani drugs, standardization on modern analytical parameter is essential requirement for drugs. Objectives: The aimed of the present study was to develop a standard profile of "Qurṣ-e-Mafasil" by systematic study through authenticated ingredients, pharmacognostic identification followed by physicochemical, TLC, HPTLC fingerprinting analysis as per standard protocol. Material and Methods: In this study three batches of "Qurṣ-e-Mafasil" QM were prepared by standard method as per UPI had been followed by organoleptic properties of formulation such as appearance, color, odor, taste. Powder Microscopy and physicochemical studies were carried out such as Uniformity of weight, Friability, Disintegration time, hardness, LOD, ash vales and extractive values in like aqueous, alcohol & hexane. Further qualitative tests such as Thin-Layer Chromatography (TLC), and High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) studies were also carried out to develop fingerprint pattern of the alcoholic solvent extract of QM. Phytochemical screening was carried out in different solvent extracts such as alcoholic, aqueous and chloroform extracts to detect the presence phytoconstituents in the formulation QM. Heavy metals, Microbial Load Contamination and pesticidal residues were also determined. Results: Qurṣ-e-Mafasil showed tablet-like appearance, light brown colour, mild pungent odour and acrid taste. Uniformity of weight (mg), friability (rpm), and hardness (kg/cm) and disintegration time was ranged between (500 to 503), (0.0340 to 0.038), (8.40 to 8.67) and (4-5 minutes) respectively for the three batches. Loss in weight on drying at 105℃ was ranged between (8.3425 to 8.7346). Extracted values were calculated in distilled water ranged between (30.9091 to 31.4358), hexane (1.1419 to 1.4281), and alcohol (3.3352 to 3.3962). The ash values recorded were ranged between (3.7336 to 3.8378), and acid insoluble ash (0.5859 to 0.6112).
Hepatoprotective effect of kasni against aflatoxin B<sub>1</sub> induced hepatic damage in mice

The efficacy of alcoholic extract of Kasni (Cichorium intybus L.) to control hepatic damage induced by aflatoxin $B_1$ was explored in Swiss albino mice. Aflatoxin $B_1$ was administered orally to the mice with a daily dose of $66.6{\mu}g/kg$ body weight till three months. A signifi-cant increased in thio barbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) levels with concomitant reduction in enzymatic (glutathione-s-transferase, glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, and catalase) and nonenzymatic (reduced glutathione) antioxidants were shown in aflatoxin treated group of mice. However, there was a significant reduction in increased TBARS levels and elevation in enzymatic. and non enzymatic antioxidant levels in group of mice which received alcoholic extract of kasni (300 mg/kg bw / day) along with aflatoxin. Histopathological analysis of liver samples also confirmed the hepatoprotective effect of kasni extract. These results suggest that kasni shows hepatoprotective effect against aflatoxin $B_1$ induced hepatic damage in mice.

PreS domain of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) surface antigen is a good candidate for an effective vaccine as it activates both B and T cells besides binding to hepatocytes. This report deals with overexpression and purification of adr subtype of surface antigen that is more prevalent in Pakistan. PreS region, comprising 119 aa preS1 region plus a 55 aa preS2 region plus 11 aa from the N-terminal S region, was inserted in pET21a+ vector, cloned in E. coli $DH5\alpha$ cells and expressed in E. coli BL21 codon+ cells. The conditions for over expression were optimized using different concentrations of IPTG (0.01-5 mM), and incubating the cells at different temperatures (23-$41^{\circ}C$) for different durations (0-6 h). The cells were grown under the given optimized conditions (0.5 mM IPTG concentration at $37^{\circ}C$ for 4 h), lysed by sonication and the protein was purified by ion exchange chromatography. On the average, 24.5 mg of recombinant protein was purified per liter of culture. The purified protein was later lyophilized and stored at $-80^{\circ}C$.
Posner's theorem for generalized derivations associated with a multiplicative derivation

Let $R$ be a ring and $P$ be a prime ideal of $R$. A mapping $d: R \rightarrow R$ is called a multiplicative derivation if $d(xy)=d(x)y+xd(y)$ for all $x,y \in R$. In this paper, our main motive is to obtain the well-known theorem due to Posner in the ring $R/P$ for generalized derivations associated with a multiplicative derivation defined by an additive mapping $F: R \rightarrow R$ such that $F(xy)=F(x)y+xd(y)$, where $d: R \rightarrow R$ is a multiplicative derivation not necessarily additive. This article discusses the use of generalized derivations associated with a multiplicative derivation to investigate the commutativity of the quotient ring $R/P$.

PCOS is the most common endocrine pathology in females of reproductive worldwide. The prevalenceranges between 5% and 15% depending on the diagnostic criteria applied.Its etiology involves both geneticand environmental factors. Typically, women with PCOS show clinical and biochemical hyperandrogenism,oligoanovulation, and micropolycystic morphology of the ovaries. Unani formulation containingNankhwah , Badiyan and Wajturki possessing the properties of Mudirr-i-Bawl-o- Hayd, mujaff –i-Balgham ,Munaffis-i- balgham , Muhallil, Muqawwi-i-Jigar were used in the form of Joshanda 6gm BDStarting from 5 days prior to expected period date to 5 days during menses for 3 cycles, which led to regainregularity of menses, correcting the amount of flow and reducing the ovarian volume on US. Thus unanimedications have the potential to treat ths symtoms of PCOS and improve the quality of life of women.
Simons' Type Formula for Kaehlerian Slant Submanifolds in Complex Space Forms

A. Bejancu [2] was the first who instigated the new concept in differential geometry, i.e., CR-submanifolds. On the other hand, CR-submanifolds were generalized by B. Y. Chen [7] as slant submanifolds. Further, he gave the notion of a Kaehlerian slant submanifold as a proper slant submanifold. This article has two objectives. For the first objective, we derive Simons' type formula for a minimal Kaehlerian slant submanifold in a complex space form. Then, by applying this formula, we give a complete classification of a minimal Kaehlerian slant submanifold in a complex space form and also obtain its some immediate consequences. The second objective is to prove some results about semi-parallel submanifolds.

<P>In this paper, we prove that the squared norm of the second fundamental form for bi-slant submanifolds with any codimension of nearly trans-Sasakian manifolds is bounded below by the gradient of a warping function and also find the conditions on which the equality holds. Some related examples are also provided.</P>

Aflatoxin contamination is a major problem in several food crops. Aflatoxin, a mycotoxin, produced by Aspergillus flavus has gained immense concern in the scientific world because of its tremendous harmful effects. The study was focused to see the effect of oil and aqueous extract of neem (Azadirachta indica) seeds on the growth of Aspergillus and production of aflatoxin by the mold. Various amounts of neem oil $(5\;-\;50\;{\mu}l/ml)$ and aqueous extract of neem (5 - 50 mg/ml) were used both in the broth as well as the solid medium. Fungistatic (MIC) and minimal fungicidal concentrations (MFC) were found to be $10\;{\mu}l/ml$ and $50\;{\mu}l/ml$ respectively for neem seed oil. At the concentration of $5\;{\mu}l/ml$ neem oil and 5 mg/ml of aqueous extract, a significant decrease in the aflatoxin content was found in broth medium. Aflatoxin production was totally inhibited at $50\;{\mu}l/ml$ and 50 mg/ml for neem oil and aqueous extract of neem respectively, in both treatments. There was significant inhibition of mycelium dry weight by the neem seed oil. Mycelial growth was totally inhibited at $20\;{\mu}l/ml$ of neem seed oil concentration in broth, whereas it was not affected at all by aqueous extract. It can therefore be inferred that the oil and extract from the neem seed leads to inhibition of aflatoxin production while neem seed oil also significantly inhibits the mycelial growth. Neem seed oil thus can be used as potent, natural and easily available anti-aflatoxigenic agent.
