The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of the supplementation of Achyranthes japonica extract (AJE) on overall performance levels with different nutrition concentrations in the diets of finishing pigs. Here, 140 finishing pigs with initial body weights of 50.18 ± 2.37 kg were used in a ten-week trial involving a 2 × 2 factorial design in two phases with the following factors: diet types with different nutrition concentrations (Positive control [PC] vs. Negative control [NC]) and 0 or 0.05% AJE supplementation to NC and PC diets. The PC diet was a basal diet, whereas the NC diet consisted of a 5% and 7% crude protein (CP) reduced basal diet during phase 1 (1 - 35 days) and phase 2 (36 - 70 days), respectively. A significant effect (p < 0.05) on the gain-to-feed ratio (G : F) was observed with interaction effects between the diets and AJE supplementation. However, during phase 1 and in all periods, the pigs fed the PC and NC diets with average daily feed intake (ADFI) tended to decrease compared to those fed diets with AJE. A significant effect (p = 0.0380) of E. coli was observed in pigs fed the PC and NC diets compared to AJE supplementation in phase 2 of the experiment. The backfat thickness (BFT) tended to decrease and the lean meat percentage (LMP) was significantly improved in phase 2 for pigs fed the PC and NC diets. In summary, BFT and LMP showed beneficial effects and fecal microbiota of E. coli counts were positively affected when pigs were fed diets with different nutrient concentrations.

The low frequency noise in Silicon Nanowire Field Effect Transistors is analyzed by characterizing the gate electrode dependence on various geometrical parameters. It shows that gate electrodes have a strong impact in the flicker noise of Silicon Nanowire Field effect transistors. Optimization of gate electrode was done by comparing different performance metrics such a DIBL, SS, $I_{on}/I_{off}$ and fringing capacitance using TCAD simulations. Molybdenum based gate electrode showed significant improvement in terms of high drive current, Low DIBL and high $I_{on}/I_{off}$. The noise power sepctral density is reduced by characterizing the device at higher frequencies. Silicon Nanowire with Si3N4 spacer decreases the drain current spectral density which interms reduces the fringing fields there by decreasing the flicker noise.

Shoulder pain, injury and discomfort are public health and economic issues world-wide. The function of these joints and the stresses developed during their movement is a major concern to the orthopedic surgeon to study precisely the injury mechanisms and thereby analyze the post-operative progress of the injury. Shoulder is one of the most critical joints in the human anatomy with maximum degrees of freedom. It mainly consists of the clavicle, scapula and humerus; the articulations linking them; and the muscles that move them. In order to understand the behavior of individual muscle during abduction arm movement, an attempt has been made to analyze the stresses developed in the shoulder muscles during abduction arm movement during the full range of motion by using the 3D FEM model. 3D scanning (ATOS III scanner) is used for the 3D shoulder joint cad model generation in CATIA V5. Muscles are added and then exported to the ANSYS APDL solver for stress analysis. Sensitivity Analysis is done for stress and strain behavior amongst different shoulder muscles; deltoid, supraspinatus, teres minor, infraspinatus, and subscapularies during adduction arm movement. During the individual deltoid muscle analysis, the von Mises stresses induced in deltoid muscle was maximum (4.2175 MPa) and in group muscle analysis it was (2.4127MPa) compared to other individual four rotor cuff muscles. The study confirmed that deltoid muscle is more sensitive muscle for the abduction arm movement during individual and group muscle analysis. The present work provides in depth information to the researchers and orthopedicians for the better understanding about the shoulder mechanism and the most stressed muscle during the abduction arm movement at different ROM. So during rehabilitation, the orthopedicians should focus on strengthening the deltoid muscles at earliest.

In this paper, the existence, uniqueness, stability via continuous dependence and Ulam stabilities of nonlinear integro-differential equations with random impulses are studied under sufficient condition. The results are obtained by using Leray-Schauder alternative fixed point theorem and Banach contraction principle.

Polymer composites have a great scope which provides improvised mechanical and chemical propertiesthan matrix material. Although most composite materials are relatively strong, they are not sustainable. The sustainability and reusability of the material is significantly affected by the incorporation of nondegradablefillers. Bael bark is a naturally occurring material with numerous medical properties; in thisstudy, Bael bark was dried, synthesized and converted into nano-filler for integrating them in polylactide(PLA) matrix. PLA is a widely used biopolymer in the biomedical sector. The filler and matrix material areboth biodegradable; therefore, the resulting composite is also expected to be biodegradable. This studyaims to develop a composite comprising Bael bark and PLA, which is a better alternative to PLA in termsof strength and sustainability. Bael bark-reinforced PLA matrices were synthesized with different Baelbark compositions, i.e., 5 wt.%, 10 wt.%, 15 wt.%, and 20 wt.%. Subsequently, the resulting compositeswere subjected to filament characterization tests such as single fiber tensile test (SFTT), scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Notably, all extruded composites exhibited a uniform distributionof filler materials. Tensile, compression, and flexural tests were also conducted on the additivelyfabricated samples. The tensile strength, compressive strength and Flexural strength of composite specimenswere higher than neat PLA material, with increments of 39%, 33.8%, and 33.9%, respectively, for thecomposite made with 15 wt.% composites. Using a commercial finite element code ABAQUS, numericalsimulations were performed on tensile, compression and flexural specimens. The simulation resultsare in good agreement with the experimental results.

Non-linear optical manganese mercury teterathiocyanate glycol monomethyl ether [MnHg(SCN)4(C3H8O2)] compound was synthesized and single crystals were grown from water-glycol monomethyl ether (1:1) mixed solvent by slow cooling method. Structure and crystallinity of the grown crystal were confirmed by both single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction analysis. Presence of functional groups and coordination of glycol monomethyl ether and thiocyanate in MMTG were confirmed by FT-IR analysis. Optical transmittance and second harmonic generation of the grown crystal were studied by UV–Vis spectrum and Kurtz powder technique. A dielectric study was performed on the MMTG single crystal to study the power dissipation of the material in the presence of alternating electric field. Mechanical behaviour was analysed using Vicker’s microhardness test. Optical surface damage measurement was carried out to confirm the suitability of MMTG crystal for NLO applications.

The effect of InGaN notch on sensitivity and Dielectric Modulated (DM) Double Heterojunction (DH) dual channel AlGaN/GaN/InGaN/GaN MOSHEMT (Metal Oxide Semiconductor High Electron Mobility Transistor) for detecting the label-free biomolecules has been investigated in this paper. Biomolecules can be inserted into the nanocavity formed by etching the insulating layer under the gate electrode. The insulator (Al2O3) as a dielectric improves the drive current and device sensitivity because of low leakage and high scalability. In this proposed structure, the presence of InGaN notch increases the carrier confinement in the channel, thereby improving the device sensitivity. The device is simulated using Sentaurus TCAD, and the results show a significant increase in drain current (IDS), up to 3.35 A/mm. The optimization of the device parameters exhibits a high sensitivity (~74%), making it suitable for precise label-free biosensing.
