<P>We discovered a general and comprehensive approach for the regioselective hydroboration of terminal and internal alkynes to synthesize vinylboronates using inexpensive and magnetically separable copper ferrite nanoparticles at low catalyst loading using Bis(pinacolato)diboron in the absence of ligand and additives, under mild and greener conditions. A diverse range of functional groups was tolerated in the reaction, including allene and enones, and the corresponding boronates were obtained in high yields under air. Moreover, the assynthesized alkenylboronates were used as precursors to prepare wide variety of vinylorgano chalcogenides regioselectively, in high yields. The present protocol enable the conversion of C-sp-H bonds to make C-sp(2)-B bonds via activation of B-B bond, followed by formation of C-sp(2)-Se (Te or S) bonds via activation of Se (Te or S)-Se (Te or S) bonds in a regioselective manner. Deuterium isotope labeling studies showed that the proton source of vinyl boronate stem from the solvent employed. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.</P>

<B>Abstract</B><P>Dasatinib is a highly potent BCR-ABL inhibitor with established efficacy and safety in imatinib-resistant/-intolerant patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). In the phase 3 DASISION trial, patients with newly diagnosed chronic-phase (CP) CML were randomized to receive dasatinib 100 mg (n = 259) or imatinib 400 mg (n = 260) once daily. Primary data showed superior efficacy for dasatinib compared with imatinib after 12 months, including significantly higher rates of complete cytogenetic response (CCyR), confirmed CCyR (primary end point), and major molecular response (MMR). Here, 24-month data are presented. Cumulative response rates by 24 months in dasatinib and imatinib arms were: CCyR in 86% versus 82%, MMR in 64% versus 46%, and BCR-ABL reduction to ≤ 0.0032% (4.5-log reduction) in 17% versus 8%. Transformation to accelerated-/ blast-phase CML on study occurred in 2.3% with dasatinib versus 5.0% with imatinib. BCR-ABL mutations, assessed after discontinuation, were detected in 10 patients in each arm. In safety analyses, fluid retention, superficial edema, myalgia, vomiting, and rash were less frequent with dasatinib compared with imatinib, whereas pleural effusion and grade 3/4 thrombocytopenia were more frequent with dasatinib. Overall, dasatinib continues to show faster and deeper responses compared with imatinib, supporting first-line use of dasatinib in patients with newly diagnosed CML-CP. Single crystals of lithium potassium phthalate (LiKP) were successfully grown from aqueous solution by solvent evaporation technique. The grown crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The lithium potassium phthalate C16 H12 K Li3 O11 belongs to triclinic system with the following unit-cell dimensions at 298(2) K; a = 7.405(5) Å; b = 9.878(5) Å; c = 13.396(5) Å; α = 71.778(5)°; β = 87.300(5)°; γ = 85.405(5)°; having a space group P1. Mass spectrometric analysis provides the molecular weight of the compound and possible ways of fragmentations occurs in the compound. Thermal stability of the crystal was also studied by both simultaneous TGA/DTA analyses. The UV-Vis-NIR spectrum shows a good transparency in the whole of Visible and as well as in the near IR range. Third order nonlinear optical studies have also been studied by Z-scan technique. Nonlinear absorption and nonlinear refractive index were found out and the third order bulk susceptibility of compound was also estimated. The results have been discussed in detail.

This research article aims at reporting the influence of magnesium by studying the structural, electrical impedance and modulus properties of the Mg substituted Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 . These studies are useful for the electrochemical properties. The XRD reveals that the structure of all the Mg substituted materials belongs to the cubic spinel group having Fd-3m space symmetry. SEM images display the structural, morphological properties with the average size of grains falling in the vicinity of 1 μm. The electrical impedance of Li 4− x Mg x Ti 5 O 12 materials was analyzed at frequencies between 20 Hz and 1 MHz and in the 30–120 °C range of temperature by employing the complex impedance spectroscopy (CIS) method. The modulus formalism is also a suitable tool to understand the dynamical characteristics of electrical transport phenomena. The complex electric modulus spectrum signifi es quantifying the allocation of ion energies or confi gurations in the lattice. Also, it portrays the electrical relaxation of ion-conducting lattices as a feature of materials at a minuscule level. The obtained results of substitution of Mg in Li 4 Ti 5 O 12 anode materials improve the potential applications of conductivity and charge/discharge performance.

A fast and single-step synthesis of the octahedral Cu[(OHCH<SUB>2</SUB>CH<SUB>2</SUB>)<SUB>2</SUB>NH]<SUB>6</SUB>[CF<SUB>3</SUB>SO<SUB>3</SUB>]<SUB>2</SUB> ionic liquid is presented for use in click chemistry. The ionic liquid effectively catalyzes the [3+2] cycloaddition of azides and terminal alkynes to give 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles regioselectively with high yields, without requiring bases, reducing agents, or inert atmospheres. The scope and catalytic activity of this ionic liquid are described herein for the first time. In addition, the present cost effective catalytic system is impressive even under stirring free conditions.

We described herein the importance of Ionic Liquids to synthesize in situ monodisperse copper nanoparticles with high surface area at room temperature. The in situ formed nanoparticles were characterized by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and shows excellent catalytic activity for cycloaddition reaction between azides with terminal alkynes to furnish 1,4-triazoles in excellent yields under mild conditions. The present catalytic system can take advantage of both ionic liquids and nanoparticles. The proposed catalytic system can minimize the time to synthesize copper nanoparticles with stabilizer and eliminates additional additives as well.

Analysis. Design and Control of Two-Level Voltage Source Converters for HVDC Systems

The Voltage Source Converter (VSC) is replacing the conventional line commutated current source converters in High Voltage DC (HVDC) transmission systems. The control of a two-level voltage source converter and its design dealt with HVDC systems and various factors such as reactive power, power factor, and harmonics distortion are discussed in detail. Simulation results are given for the two-level converter and designed control is used for bidirectional power flow. The harmonics minimization is taken by extending the 6-pulse VSC to multipulse voltage source converters. The control is also tested and simulated for a 12-pulse voltage source converter to minimize the harmonic distortion in AC currents.
