The aim of this research was to clarify how to raise children with a tendency of developmental disabilities without lowering self-affirmation. We conducted an interview research subjecting parents with children with a tendency of developmental disabilities and nursery teachers. The subject of this research was 42 parents who have children with a tendency of developmental disabilities between the age of 4 to 10, and 26 nursery teachers who have children with a tendency of developmental disabilities in their class. Large factors in lowering their self-affirmation were not to praise the child, keep scolding at them, and not having the experience of success where children feel like they accomplished something. It was verified that in order to enhance the children s self-affirmation, it is important to have smaller goals and change the method in the way that the child can do according to the child s developmental level rather than the standardized level of development. In other words, it can be said that it is important for parents to set up the environment where children feel like they can do it, praise the child if they succeed even a little, and the child can visually verify their success.
How Parents Place Their Children on Escalators: from the Results of Fixed₋point Observation Research
Tomomi MIZUNO(Tomomi MIZUNO ),Katsumi TOKUDA(Katsumi TOKUDA ),Hongjoong CHO(Hongjoong CHO ) 한국마이너리티학회 2022 마이너리티연구 Vol.5 No.1
The purpose of this study was to clarify how guardians place small children on escalators when children and guardians ride on escalators together and how many inappropriate behaviors are done by the guardians. A group of a preschool child and guardian(s) counts as one case, and 13 research at 8 locations (each research time is 1 hour, in total 13 hours), a total of 590 cases using an escalator installed at that location were analyzed. Regarding the way preschool children and guardians use escalators, we classified them into 15 categories. About 20% of guardians have inappropriate manners including “An adult carries a child on his shoulders”, “A child is in a stroller”, “Both an adult and a child walk”, when they get on escalators with children.
How Children are Viewing Disney Images -With young Children's educational programs as subjects-

In this research, we would like clarify what scenes grab their interest, or loses their interest when the children view “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" "Handy Manny" and ‘'My Friends Tigger and Pooh" and whether there are any differences according to their age, in order to subjectively evaluate the appropriateness of the Disney images as educational program and acquire the basic data for improving the effectiveness. The image was shown to the children in kindergarten, day-care center and at home and it was recorded with 3 video cameras. Two factors were calculated; 1) the ratio of children who are paying attention (attention rate) 2) the ratio of any reaction (reaction rate) (such as responding a question, pointing, and questioning adults) . We clarified the following in this research. * Bouncy music and questions to the audience are necessary in order to get the attention from young children. *Young children have a strong tendency to not notice things that they see for the first time. Repetition of 2 or 3 times is necessary in order for the image to have effective indirect experience. However, 5 year olds get bored with repetition over 4 times. * There is a large difference between 3 year olds and 4 year olds and older with the attention span toward images. * Children like to see scenes that accidents are about to happen. * Children do not always like the jokes that adults like. * Children have higher interest and increased desire to “watch" when popular characters appear at the beginning of the image. * Bouncy music and questions to the audien
Ultrahigh-speed distributed Brillouin reflectometry
Mizuno, Yosuke,Hayashi, Neisei,Fukuda, Hideyuki,Song, Kwang Yong,Nakamura, Kentaro Nature Publishing Group 2016 Light, science & applications Vol.5 No.12

Optical fibre sensors based on Brillouin scattering have been vigorously studied in the context of structural health monitoring on account of their capacity for distributed strain and temperature measurements. However, real-time distributed strain measurement has been achieved only for two-end-access systems; such systems reduce the degree of freedom in embedding the sensors into structures, and furthermore render the measurement no longer feasible when extremely high loss or breakage occurs at a point along the sensing fibre. Here, we demonstrate real-time distributed measurement with an intrinsically one-end-access reflectometry configuration by using a correlation-domain technique. In this method, the Brillouin gain spectrum is obtained at high speed using a voltage-controlled oscillator, and the Brillouin frequency shift is converted into a phase delay of a synchronous sinusoidal waveform; the phase delay is subsequently converted into a voltage, which can be directly measured. When a single-point measurement is performed at an arbitrary position, a strain sampling rate of up to 100 kHz is experimentally verified by detecting locally applied dynamic strain at 1 kHz. When distributed measurements are performed at 100 points with 10 times averaging, a repetition rate of 100 Hz is verified by tracking a mechanical wave propagating along the fibre. Some drawbacks of this ultrahigh-speed configuration, including the reduced measurement accuracy, lowered spatial resolution and limited strain dynamic range, are also discussed.

In this thesis, we would like to see how much disciplining language with threats have changed over the 13 years , especially on the disciplining language with threats about impairment. The subjects of this research were 423 parents. In order to see the transition from 1997, we had almost the same research items as Tokuda (1998) On the disciplining language about impairments “if you drop your food , you will go blind" and “you will go deaf" , parents use less often in 2010 than 1997. And the rate their parents say to them decreased a small amount. We can recognize that the parents gradually started to use them to their children less and less. We consider that for this background, understanding for impairments is gradually starting to spread among the parents who have toddlers Furthermore, both in 2010 and 1997, the parents often use the disciplining language with threats about TV such as “if you watch TV too close, your eyes will go bad" and “if you watch too much TV, your eves will go bad." Both in 2010 and 1997, there are many parents who were told by their parents the same. However, there is no scientific evidence showing that watching TV close by or watching TV for too long will lower their eye vision.
