1985년 9월부터 1986년 7월까지 경상남도 마산시와 통영군에서 관박쥐 및 긴날개박쥐를 채집하여 박쥐 체내에 잔류하는 유기염소화합물 (PCB, BHC, DDT)의 농도를 조직 (간, 흉근, 잔해)별로 측정한 결과 전 개체로부터 이들 화합물이 높은 농도로 검출되었고, 이로부터 이들 화합물의 강한 잔류성이 시사되었다. 또한 검출된 화합물의 농도는 박쥐의 종류 [관박쥐 (평균), PCB(0.25 ppm) > BHC(0.19 ppm) > DDT(0.05 ppm) ; 긴날개박쥐 (평균), DDT(1.97 ppm) > BHC(1.63 ppm) > PCB(0.30 ppm) > 및 조직부위 [관박쥐, 잔해 (0.70 ppm) > 간 (0.40 ppm) > 흉근(0.37 ppm) ; 긴날개박쥐, 잔해 (5.61 ppm) > 흉근(4.96 ppm) > 간 (1.12 ppm)]에 따라 달랐으며 이는 이들 화합물외 사용 형태, 물리화학적성질 및 박쥐류의 서식환경, 식성과 생리등에 의해서 결정됨이 시사되었다. Residue levels of PCBs, BHC isomers and DDT compounds were examined in two species of bats, the greater horseshoe bat, Rhinolophus ferrumequinum korai and the long-fingered bat, Miniopterus schreibersi fuliginosus, collected from Masan City and Tongyoung-gun in Korea during the period from September 1985 to July 1986. From the high residue levels of the organochlorine compounds in the two species, prolonged persistency of these compounds were suggested. Further, the difference in contaminant levels in the two species (R.f.korai, PCB 0.25ppm > BHC 0.19ppm > DDT 0.05ppm; M. s. fuliginosus, DDT 1.97ppm > BHC 1.63 ppm > PCB 0.30 ppm) and in the tissues examined (R.f. korai, carcass (). 70ppm > liver 0.40ppm > breast muscle 0.37ppm ; M. s. fuliginosus, carcass 5.61ppm > breast muscle 4.96ppm > liver 1.12ppm) seemed to be due to the disparity in uses and physio-chemical properties of the compounds, and in habitat, food and physiology between the two species.
다공성 충전층반응기에서 기-액흐름양상의 전이와 액체체류량

For both downward and ward cement gas-liquid flow in a porous packed bed reactor the transition of gas-liquid flow pattern and liquid holdup were investigated experimentally in an air-water-Zeolite particle system. Experimental results showed that gas velocity at trickle-to-pulse flow transition boundary in the downflow system was decreased with increasing liquid velocity and that gas velocity at bubble-to-pulse flow transition boundary in the upflow system was nearly constant for lower liquid velocity, however, it was increased with increasing liquid velocity for turbulent flow region. We also found that the dynamic liquid holdup in the upflow system was higher than that in the downflow system and it was increased with increasing liquid velocity and with decreasing gas velocity. Furthermore,the dynamic liquid holdup was sensitively affected by liquid velocity at trickle flow in the downflow system while it was sensitively affected by gas velocity at bubble flow in the upflow system and at pulse flow in the downflow and upflow systems. For the porous particle system fluid velocities at gas-liquid flow transition boundaries and dynamic liquid holdup had nearly same that for the nonporous particle(glass bead) system.
기-액병류상향 고정층반응기에서 액체의 흐름과 축방향분산

For upward cocurrent gas-liquid flow in a fixed bed reactor, the flow and axial dispersion of liquid were investigated in an air-water-Zeolite particle system. Based on experimental residence time distributions, parameters of mixing models were evaluated with two proposed liquid mixing models: axial dispersion model with stagnant zone(DSM) and plug flow model with stagnant zone(PFM). Accordingly, the applicability and parameters of each mixing model were analyzed for various operating conditions. We found that the flow and axial mixing characteristics of liquid could be analyzed well by DSM and parameters were well estimated by curve fitting using trial and error method. Also, the fraction of stagnant zone was decreased with increasing liquid velocity, while the dimensionless mass transfer coefficient between dynamic and stagnant zones was increased, and these parameters estimated by DSM were lower than those by PFM. In dynamic zone, calculated Peclet number were increased with increasing liquid velocity and axial mixing characteristics of liquid tended to access to plug flow for the high liquid Reynolds number(about Re1>50). For the porous catalyst particle system the flow and axial mixing characteristics of liquid had nearly same tendency that for the nonporous particle(glass bead) system, while dimensionless mass transfer coefficient was lower value than that for it. In these conditions, correlations of these parameters were obtained for various operating conditions.

갈색 세포종은 신경내분비종양의 하나로 VIP를 포함한 다양한 신경내분비 펩타이드를 분비할 수 있다. 저자들은 만성 설사와 체중 감소를 주소로 내원한 환자에서 좌측 부신에 VIP를 생성하는 갈색 세포종을 진단하여 성공적으로 제거한 후 증상이 모두 호전된 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) is a 28-amino acid peptide, which may cause secretory diarrhea by stimulating the production of adenylate cyclase. Neuroendocrine tumors, secreting vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), are almost always of a pancreatic in origin. However, a pheochromocytoma may produce several neuropeptides, containing VIP, as they are considered to be neuroendocrine tumors. A 57-year-old woman, who presented with chronic watery diarrhea, hypokalemia, weight loss and a left adrenal mass, is described. Histologically, the tumor was diagnosed as a pheoch-romocytoma, with ganglioneuronal differentiation, and was histochemically confirmed to produce a vasoactive intestinal polypeptide. A left adrenal VIP-producing pheochromocytoma was successfully resected. After surgery, her diarrhea subsided and the electrolytes, affected neuroendocrine hormone levels, blood pressure and blood sugar level were normalized (J Kor SOC Endocrinol 18:227-231, 2003).
리튬 이온 이차전지를 위한 부극용 Si 특성에 관한 연구

리튬이온이차전지의 부극으로 Si를 사용하였다. 부극용 Si전극을 1회 충방전 시 Li이온이 탈 삽입될 때 각각의 전압에서 XRD 회절분석을 통하여 Li이온이 이동하여 Si와 반응하는 것을 조사하였다. 순환전압전류 및 충방전 시험을 통하여 전기 화학적 특성을 측정해본 결과 부극으로써 Si의 산화환원 반응이 양호하게 이루어졌으며 충방전에 대한 cycle number가 증가할수록 비가역적인 산화환원반응 및 부피변화로 인해 싸이클 특성 감소함을 나타내었다. Si with anode is used Li ion secondary batteries During Li ion intercalating at first cycle, XRD analysis studies at others voltages showed that Li ions are moved and reacted to Si The electrochemical properties of Si anode materials were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry and charge/discharge test. With cycle number increasing, cyclic characteristics are decreased for irreversible reduction/oxidation and volume change.
Glucose Oxidase가 척수지각신경절세포에 미치는 영향과 천마의 효과에 관한 연구

Objectives : To clarify the cytotoxic effect of glucose oxidase(GO) and protective effect of gastrodiae Rhizoma (GR) on spinal sensory ganglion(DRG) neurons, neurotoxicity mediated by GO was measured by MTT assay and neurofilament enzymeimmuno assay(EIA). Methods : DRG neurons were cultured in the media containing various concentrations of GO for 3 hours. In addition, neuroprotective effects of GR, on GO-induced neurotoxicity in DRG neurons were examined after DRG neurons were preincubated with various concentrations of GR for 2 hours before 15mU/ml GO for 3 hours. Results : GO decreased remarkably cell viability in dependently in these cultures, and also RG increased cell viability and amount of neurofilament in DRG neurons damaged by GO. Conclusion : It is suggested that GO has toxic effect in cultured mouse DRG neurons, and also RG was effective in the protection of GO-induced neurotoxicity in these cultures.
