      • A new approach to modeling the dynamic response of Bernoulli-Euler beam under moving load

        This article discusses the dynamic response of Bernoulli-Euler straight beam with angular elastic supports subjected to moving load with variable velocity. A new engineering approach for determination of the dynamic effect from the moving load on the stressed and strained state of the beam has been developed. A dynamic coefficient, a ratio of the dynamic to the static deflection of the beam, has been defined on the base of an infinite geometrical absolutely summable series. Generalization of the R. Willis' equation has been carried out: generalized boundary conditions have been introduced; the generalized elastic curve's equation on the base of infinite trigonometric series method has been obtained; the forces of inertia from normal and Coriolis accelerations and reduced beam mass have been taken into account. The influence of the boundary conditions and kinematic characteristics of the moving load on the dynamic coefficient has been investigated. As a result, the dynamic stressed and strained state has been obtained as a multiplication of the static one with the dynamic coefficient. The developed approach has been compared with a finite element one for a concrete engineering case and thus its authenticity has been proved.

      • Modeling of the friction in the tool-workpiece system in diamond burnishing process

        The article presents a theoretical-experimental approach developed for modeling the coefficient of sliding friction in the dynamic system tool-workpiece in slide diamond burnishing of low-alloy unhardened steels. The experimental setup, implemented on conventional lathe, includes a specially designed device, with a straight cantilever beam as body. The beam is simultaneously loaded by bending (from transverse slide friction force) and compression (from longitudinal burnishing force), which is a reason for geometrical nonlinearity. A method, based on the idea of separation of the variables (time and metric) before establishing the differential equation of motion, has been applied for dynamic modeling of the beam elastic curve. Between the longitudinal (burnishing force) and transverse (slide friction force) forces exists a correlation defined by Coulomb's law of sliding friction. On this basis, an analytical relationship between the beam deflection and the sought friction coefficient has been obtained. In order to measure the deflection of the beam, strain gauges connected in a "full bridge" type of circuit are used. A flexible adhesive is selected, which provides an opportunity for dynamic measurements through the constructed measuring system. The signal is proportional to the beam deflection and is fed to the analog input of USB DAQ board, from where the signal enters in a purposely created virtual instrument which is developed by means of Labview. The basic characteristic of the virtual instrument is the ability to record and visualize in a real time the measured deflection. The signal sampling frequency is chosen in accordance with Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem. In order to obtain a regression model of the friction coefficient with the participation of the diamond burnishing process parameters, an experimental design with 55 experimental points is synthesized. A regression analysis and analysis of variance have been carried out. The influence of the factors on the friction coefficient is established using sections of the hyper-surface of the friction coefficient model with the hyper-planes.

      • Investigation of dynamic response of "bridge girder-telpher-load" crane system due to telpher motion

        The moving load causes the occurrence of vibrations in civil engineering structures such as bridges, railway lines, bridge cranes and others. A novel engineering method for separation of the variables in the differential equation of the elastic line of Bernoulli-Euler beam has been developed. The method can be utilized in engineering structures, leading to "a beam under moving load model" with generalized boundary conditions. This method has been implemented for analytical study of the dynamic response of the metal structure of a single girder bridge crane due to the telpher movement along the bridge girder. The modeled system includes: a crane bridge girder; a telpher, moving with a constant horizontal velocity; a load, elastically fixed to the telpher. The forced vibrations with their own frequencies and with a forced frequency, due to the telpher movement, have been analyzed. The loading resulting from the telpher uniform movement along the bridge girder is cyclical, which is a prerequisite for nucleation and propagation of fatigue cracks. The concept of "dynamic coefficient" has been introduced, which is defined as a ratio of the dynamic deflection of the bridge girder due to forced vibrations, to the static one. This ratio has been compared with the known from the literature empirical dynamic coefficient, which is due to the telpher track unevenness. The introduced dynamic coefficient shows larger values and has to be taken into account for engineering calculations of the bridge crane metal structure. In order to verify the degree of approximation, the obtained results have been compared with FEM outcomes. An additional comparison has been made with the exact solution, proposed by Timoshenko, for the case of simply supported beam subjected to a moving force. The comparisons show a good agreement.

        Need Assessments for Designing APEC Edutainment Exchange Program (AEEP) in Sakha

        The purpose of this study is to assess the need for APEC Edutainment Exchange Program(AEEP) and current status of educational environment of Sakha in Russia in order to design AEEP with Korea. To this end, based on literature review, this study conducted a field research in Sakha visiting universities, schools, camp sites and various sits for experiential learning for students and did a survey and interviews targeting the local teaches and education experts. The results are as follows. First, having high demand for international educational cooperation activities for students, Sakha, located in the far east of Russia, has attractive and divergent educational resources in the aspect of culture, history, and natural environments. Second, it needs to consider participation costs, matters of interpretation due to language barriers between Korea and Russia, and involvement and support from local Korean residents and related institutions. Third, there should be enough attention and orientation to Korean students so that they can understand and respect the cultural difference of speaking attitude and food in Sakha. These results could provide preliminary data to develop Sakha-Korea AEEP utilizing divergent cultural resources and rich natural environments of Sakha with systemic support for participants.

        Studying of sintered WC-8Co powder with coatings of aluminum oxide produced by atomic layer deposition

        Grain size reduction in cemented carbides leads to higher mechanical properties. Therefore, preventing the grain growthduring sintering is a crucial task. This study proposes the application of Al2O3 coatings obtained by atomic layer deposition(ALD) on WC-8Co powder, where Al2O3 is added as a grain growth inhibitor. After deposition, the films were found both onseparate particles and on the dense agglomerates. The thickness of aluminum oxide varied in the range of 30-100 nmdepending on the synthesis parameters and the powder’s bulk density. Composite particles were compacted using sparkplasma sintering (SPS). The compacted samples density was about 99-99.6% of the theoretical. Alumina was found on thegrain boundaries of tungsten carbide.

        The purpose of this research was to identify the situation of ICT use in education in the Russian region, its reasons, and possible problems and solutions. In order to achieve the attempted purpose, analysis was done on thirteen individual and collaborative final presentations of 34 Russian (Sakha) trainees who attended the APEC e-Learning Training Program during 2007-2013 and Russian government project on ICT in education. The results of the research are as follows. First, the most mentioned problem and need to the Russian education informatization was identified as a shortage of ICT equipment. The next two problems identified were the problem of the insufficiency of educational resources and lack of teacher motivation in using ICT. Third, the implementation of ICT in Russian schools should become one of the important objectives of the region’s education administration and school administration. Thus, Russian regional government officials, who are responsible for education, need training to implement better policies and measures for improvements of ICT use in education. Also it’s important for them to learn the best foreign experience in using ICT in Education and adapt it by taking into consideration culture, geographical and other regional features.

        Background: The aim was to investigate the clinical, laboratory and genetic determinants of diabetes mellitus in patients with debut of disease before 25 years of age and family history of diabetes in Siberia. Methods: We examined 70 people with debut of diabetes before 25 years of age with family history of diabetes: 5 patients who we verified MODY 2 (after molecular genetic testing), 33 diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 32 - 2 type. All patients had a clinical examination, blood sampling for biochemical, hormone and molecular genetic (research glucokinase gene) analyzes. Results: Missense mutations in the glucokinase gene were localized in exons 1,4 and 7. The “classical” symptoms of debut were in 94% of patients with 1 type of diabetes. Asymptomatic debut of “diabetes no type 1” was in 60% of patients. Allergic reactions dominated among the comorbidities in patients with diabetes. Pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract (diabetes mellitus type 1 -27%, 2 type -12 %, MODY 2-20%), thyroid (18 %, 28 % and 40 % respectively), hypertension (18 % with type 1, 28 % - type 2) were in these patients. Peripheral diabetic neuropathy and diabetic retinopathy prevailed among the complications. Statistical differences were found in glucose, glycated hemoglobin, C-peptide, C-reactive protein among laboratory parameters in patients with diabetes mellitus type 1 and type 2. Conclusions: 1. We discovered a new one missense mutation and three previously described mutations in the glucokinase gene. 2. Young patients with type 1 diabetes had “classic” symptoms. Patients with “diabetes not type 1” had not clinical symptoms (60%) and had normal body weight (84 %). 3. Allergic reactions and diseases of the thyroid gland dominated in all types of diabetes mellitus in patients of the young age.

        Background: The aim of research was to determine the incidence of arterial hypertension in patients with debut of diabetes mellitus before 25 years of age. Methods: We examined 70 people in Siberia who had debut of diabetes mellitus up to 25 years: 5 patients had been confi rmed MODY 2, 33 patients had type 1 diabetes, 32 patients - type 2. We have done clinical examination, measurement of blood pressure, blood sampling for biochemical and hormone (TSH, C-peptide) analyzes. Arterial hypertension was diagnosed when blood pressure (BP) is above then 139/89 mm Hg for people older 18 years and above 95 percentile of the distribution BP for patients younger than 18 years. Results: The median of age of the patients at moment of examination was 23,0 [16,0:35,5] years for patients with type 1, with type 2- 29,5 [17,7:37,0] years (p1- 2<0,001), with MODY 2 -13,0 [6,5:30,5] years (p2-mody=0,022). The median of duration of diabetes mellitus was 9,0 [3,5:19,5] years at type 1: 2,0 [1,0:5,0] years at type 2: 3,0[1,0:4,0] years at MODY 2 (p1-2 = 0,02, p1- MODY = 0,04). 5 patients (15%) with type 1 diabetes had hypertension 1 and 2 degrees. 6 patients (19%) with type 2 diabetes also have high blood pressure. Patients with MODY 2 had not arterial hypertension. Overweight was present in 2 patients (6%) with type 1 diabetes and in 5 (16%) - with type 2 diabetes. Conclusions: 1. Young patients with diabetes have high incidence of hypertension which requires good monitoring pressure in these patients from the time of diagnosis of diabetes. 2. Overweight in young patients with diabetes is rarer than hypertension. It is indicate the need for controlling the pressure in the persons not only with the overweight but with normal weight too.

        본 연구는 러시아 사하공화국과 한국 간 APEC 에듀테인먼트 교류 프로그램(이하 AEEP) 개발을 위 해 사하공화국 현지 교사와 교육전문가들을 대상으로 프로그램에 관한 요구와 기타 관련된 사항들의 실태를 분석하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 문헌연구를 기반으로 현지 조사와 함께 설 문조사와 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 현지 조사는 한-사하 AEEP를 주관할 대학교와 AEEP 참가자들의 고등 학교 그리고 캠프장과 다양한 체험학습대상지들을 방문하였고, 담당 교사들 및 교수들을 대상으로 교 육 현황과 프로그램에 관한 요구 조사를 실시하였다. 그에 따른 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 러시 아 극동 지구에 위치한 사하는 문화와 역사, 환경 및 기후의 측면에서 독특하고 다양한 교육 자원들 을 보유하고 있다. 그리고 이를 활용한 청소년 대상의 국제교육협력활동에 높은 요구를 보이고 있었 다. 둘째, AEEP를 통해 대규모 국제교류활동을 실시하기 위해서는 참여자들의 한-러 간 언어 장벽, 이에 따른 통역 지원, 참여 경비, 현지 교민 및 관련 기관과의 연계 등과 같은 점을 고려해야 한다. 셋째, 사하공화국은 한국에 대해 긍정적인 이미지를 가지고 있으나, 우리나라 학생들에게는 지리적으 로 뿐만 아니라 음식과 대화 방식 등 다소 낯설고 독특한 문화를 가지고 있어서 문화의 차이에 대해 충분한 사전 교육이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이후 후속연구에서는 상기와 같은 점을 고려하 여, 사하공화국의 풍부한 자연 환경을 안전하고 매력적으로 활용하고, 다양한 측면에서의 체제적 지 원을 포함하는 AEEP 개발 연구가 필요할 것이다.       • BRCA1 and TP53 Gene-Mutations: Family Predisposition and Radioecological Risk of Developing Breast Cancer

        Frequencies of polymorphisms of genes BRCA1 and ТР53 in breast cancer (BC) patients with a BC family history and radiation history were assessed and compared in the Semey region of Kazakhstan. The study included 60 women directly irradiated by the activities of the Semipalatinsk test site with a calculated effective equivalent dose of 500 mSv and their first generation descendants (group BC+Her+Exp); 65 women with family BC and absence of radiological history - the effective equivalent dose due to anthropogenic sources not exceeding 50 mSv (group BC+Her-Exp). The comparison group consisted of 65 women patients with breast cancer without family and radiological history (BC-Her-Exp). The control group comprised 60 women without breast cancer and without family and radiological history (nonBC). We carried out the genotyping of the polymorphisms c.2311T>C, c.4308T>C and 5382insC of the BRCA1 gene and rs1042522 of the ТР53 gene. The frequency of the polymorphism c.2311T>C was significantly higher in patients of the group BC+Her+Exp than in healthy women, and of the polymorphism 5382insC in BC+Her+Exp compared to all other groups. The frequency of the rs1042522 polymorphism of ТР53 was significantly higher in all groups of patients with breast cancer compared with the control group. Differences between groups of women with breast cancer were significant only in BC+Her+Exp vs. BC+Her-Exp. Combinations of polymorphisms of the genes BRCA1 and TP53 predominated in women with a family and radiological history.
