• Optimum Blank Design of Thick-Plate Metal Forming without Blank Holder

        Jian Lan,Mianli Zhang,Huajie Mao,Maosheng Shu,Lin Hua 한국소성가공학회 2010 기타자료 Vol.2010 No.6

Many blank design methods are used in sheet metal forming industry, but most of them originated from applications of thin sheet metal forming with blank holder. There are few researches on blank design methods of thick-plate metal forming without blank holder, which process has two characteristics: workpiece thinning locally and severely, workpiece inside surface not contacting with top punch because of local bulk deforming. An optimum blank design method is proposed in this paper for the thick-plate metal forming without blank holder. This method consists of two stages: the initial blank design stage and the blank optimization stage. The first stage is to obtain initial blank shape using Inverse Finite Element Approach (IFEA) from the middle-thick layer of 3D model of target part. In the second stage, firstly, simulate and obtain deformed workpiece by forward finite element analysis; then calculate the shape error between deformed workpiece and target part, and the indicator △ of optimization procedure; finally, correct the blank shape by the feedback of shape error until the indicator △ is smaller than tolerance. In order to verify the proposed method, a reverse arm bracket is investigated.

      • Salt-controlled dissolution in pigment cathode for high-capacity and long-life magnesium organic batteries

        Cui, Lianmeng,Zhou, Limin,Zhang, Kai,Xiong, Fangyu,Tan, Shuangshuang,Li, Maosheng,An, Qinyou,Kang, Yong-Mook,Mai, Liqiang Elsevier 2019 Nano energy Vol.65 No.-

Abstract

Benefiting from high volumetric energy density and generally dendrite-free growth of Mg metal, rechargeable magnesium batteries (MBs) become a promising next-generation energy storage system. Organic electrode materials, with characteristic of sustainable resource and flexible structure, have been widely studied in alkali metal ion batteries, but are rarely reported in MBs. Herein, we demonstrate that 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA) serves as a cathode material for MBs in non-aqueous system, which realizes a fast diffusion kinetics and remarkable Mg-storage performance through a salt-dissolution inhibition approach for the electrolyte. The PTCDA exhibits a reversible capacity of 126 mAh g−1 (at 200 mA g−1), excellent rate performance, and good cycling stability (100 mAh g−1 even after 150 cycles). Furthermore, the evolution mechanism of the PTCDA electrode based on the transformation between carbonyl groups (CO) and enolate groups (C–O) is revealed by ex-situ phase characterization and functional group analysis. Besides, the dissolution inhibition of the PTCDA could also be realized through the incorporation of other soluble salt (KCl or NaCl) into all phenyl complex (APC) electrolyte, resulting in an enhanced cycling capacity. Considering the designable configuration of the organic materials, this work would pave way for their utilization on multi-valent ion batteries and provide efficient strategy to realize high voltage and satisfied cycle life.

Highlights

The magnesium anode in organic system was realized combined with the solubility inhibition of the host materials.

Compared with other inorganic cathode materials, the PTCDA is eligible to offset the defect of Mg2+ transport dynamics.

Compared with other Mg-storage materials reported, the PTCDA demonstrates a high working voltage plateau and a small polarization.

The electrochemical mechanism of the PTCDA is proved to be the transformation between carbonyl groups and enolate groups.

The incorporation of dissolvable salts inhibited the dissolution of the PTCDA.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

Nickel/Briphos-Catalyzed Direct Transamidation of Unactivated Secondary Amides Using Trimethylsilyl Chloride

        Yu, Subeen,Shin, Taeil,Zhang, Maosheng,Xia, Yuanzhi,Kim, Hyunwoo,Lee, Sunwoo American Chemical Society 2018 ORGANIC LETTERS Vol.20 No.23

Direct transamidation of secondary amides was developed via nickel catalysis. In the presence of trimethylsilyl chloride and manganese, Ni(diglyme)Cl2 with a Briphos ligand efficiently promoted the transamidation of N-aryl benzamide derivatives with primary amines to afford the corresponding secondary amides in moderate to good yields. Primary amines bearing electron-donating groups gave higher yields of the transamidation products.
[FIG OMISSION]

      • Ni/Cu-Catalyzed Decarboxylative Addition of Alkynoic Acids to Terminal Alkynes for the Synthesis of gem-1,3-Enynes

        Han, Sehyeon,Kim, Han-Sung,Zhang, Maosheng,Xia, Yuanzhi,Lee, Sunwoo American Chemical Society 2019 Organic letters Vol.21 No.14

The synthesis of gem-1,3-enynes via Ni/Cu-catalyzed decarboxylative addition of alkynoic acids to terminal alkynes has been developed. It was found that the decarboxylation of an alkynoic acid led predominantly to gem-1,3-enynes instead of 1,3-diynes, which have been known to be formed through the coupling of terminal alkynes. A variety of gem-1,3-enynes were obtained in good yields. This catalytic system exhibited excellent regioselectivity and high functional group tolerance.
[FIG OMISSION]

Heliocoverpa armigera single nucleocapsid nucleopolyhedrovirus ORF52 is a ChaB homologous gene involved in per os infection

        Chunyu Zhu,Fangliang Zheng,Sugai Yin,Hongsheng Liu,Yan Liu,Maosheng Zhang,Shuqin Xiong 한국유전학회 2014 Genes & Genomics Vol.36 No.6

The baculovirus ChaB proteins are conservedin all completely sequenced Lepidopteran NPVs and areannotated as putative DNA binding proteins. In our previousstudy, ORF51, a ChaB homologue from Helicoverpaarmigera single nucleocapsid nucleopolyhedrovirus(HearNPV) was found to be involved in budded virusproduction and DNA replication. In the present study, wecharacterized ORF52 (Ha52), the other ChaB homologousgene in HearNPV. 50-RACE revealed that Ha52 was transcribedfrom a conventional late promoter transcriptionalinitiator motif (TAAG) located 25 nucleotides upstream ofATG. Expression analysis demonstrated that HA52 proteinwas expressed from 48 to 96 h post infection. Western blotanalysis of virions from both budded viruses (BVs) andocclusion-derived viruses (ODVs) indicated that HA52 wasa structural component of nucleocapsid from ODV. Tostudy the function of Ha52 in the life cycle of HearNPV,Ha52-knockout and Ha52-restored viruses were generatedby the Bac-to-Bac system. Growth curve analyses showedthat the level of BV production in cells infected with Ha52null virus was similar to those infected with wild-typebacmid derived virus. However, bioassay showed thatdeletion of Ha52 significantly decreased the per os infectivityof HearNPV. Taken together, our results indicatedthat, unlike the previously characterized baculovirual ChaBgenes, Ha52 may be involved in HearNPV per os infection.

The FOXO1 Gene-Obesity Interaction Increases the Risk of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in a Chinese Han Population

        Lilin Gong,Rong Li,Wei Ren,Zengchan Wang,Zhihong Wang,Maosheng Yang,Suhua Zhang 대한의학회 2017 Journal of Korean medical science Vol.32 No.2

Here, we aimed to study the effect of the forkhead box O1-insulin receptor substrate 2 (FOXO1-IRS2) gene interaction and the FOXO1 and IRS2 genes-environment interaction for the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in a Chinese Han population. We genotyped 7 polymorphism sites of FOXO1 gene and IRS2 gene in 780 unrelated Chinese Han people (474 cases of T2DM, 306 cases of healthy control). The risk of T2DM in individuals with AA genotype for rs7986407 and CC genotype for rs4581585 in FOXO1 gene was 2.092 and 2.57 times higher than that with GG genotype (odds ratio [OR] = 2.092; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.178–3.731; P = 0.011) and TT genotype (OR = 2.571; 95% CI = 1.404–4.695; P = 0.002), respectively. The risk of T2DM in individuals with GG genotype for Gly1057Asp in IRS2 gene was 1.42 times higher than that with AA genotype (OR = 1.422; 95% CI = 1.037–1.949; P = 0.029). The other 4 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) had no significant association with T2DM (P > 0.05). Multifactor dimensionality reduction (MDR) analysis showed that the interaction between SNPs rs7986407 and rs4325426 in FOXO1 gene and waist was the best model confirmed by interaction analysis, closely associating with T2DM. There was an increased risk for T2DM in the case of non-obesity with genotype combined AA/CC, AA/AC or AG/AA for rs7986407 and rs4325426, and obesity with genotype AA for rs7986407 or AA for rs4325426 (OR = 3.976; 95% CI = 1.156–13.675; P value from sign test [Psign] = 0.025; P value from permutation test [Pperm] = 0.000–0.001). Together, this study indicates an association of FOXO1 and IRS2 gene polymorphisms with T2DM in Chinese Han population, supporting FOXO1-obesity interaction as a key factor for the risk of T2DM.
