A Mobile Object Tracking Scheme by Wired/wireless Integrated Street Lights with RFID

Since a sophisticated location determination technology (LDT) is necessary for accurate positioning in urban area environments, numerous studies related to the LDT using the RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) technology have been implemented for real‐time positioning and data transferring. However, there are still lots of unsolved questions especially regarding what to use as base stations and what are corresponding results under the intrinsic complexity of alignment and configuration of components used for the RFID positioning. This study proposes the street light fixtures as base stations where the RFID receivers will be embedded for the mobile tracking scheme. As street light fixtures are usually installed at a certain distance interval, they can be used as base stations for the RFID receiver installation. Using the principle of the single row triangle network, the RFID receiver organization is determined based on the experiments such as recognition distance measurement and tag position accuracy estimation at inside and outside of the single row triangle network. The results verify that the mobile tracking scheme which uses RFID-embedded street light fixtures, suggested and configured in this study, is effective for the real-time outdoor positioning.
Postherpetic Neuralgia Aggravated by Upper Complete Denture

Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is a chronic and refractory pain disease. It requires longterm treatment and follow-up. Comorbid diseases can change or aggravate the pain condition and responsiveness of patients to PHN treatment. In such cases, the cause of pain should be identified through proper testing, and appropriate treatment should be administered. Herein, we report the case of a 67-year-old man with PHN in the maxillary nerve. As the pain was being controlled with medication and infraorbital nerve block, the patient experienced deterioration of pain caused by a newly worn upper complete denture. The patient’s pain was relieved following correction of the upper complete denture.
Enhancing the penetration stability of plasma jet in liquid by improving the chamber structure

Two kinds of chamber structures were designed to improve the penetration stability of plasma jet in the working fluid. They are the cone-truncated chamber with an inclined wall structure and the stepped-wall chamber with an abrupt expanding structure. Based on the experiment, the penetration characteristics of plasma jet in liquid were investigated by the numerical calculation, especially the multiphase flow field structure and the jet penetration stability. In the cone-truncated chamber, the arc-like pressure wave does not evolve into the plane wave like the wave evolution rule in the traditional cylindrical chamber, and an alternating structure of arc-like wave and the plane wave is formed in the stepped-wall chamber. The stability control of stepped wall is more significant than that of inclined wall because the low-pressure vortex formed at the corner of step enhances the radial induction effect. Besides, the stepped-wall structure can restrain the moving randomness of the big vortex's core. The axial expansion speed of plasma jet in the ambient fluid is decreased exponentially and the speed estimation formula was obtained in this work.
