The purpose of this study was to prepare chitosan- dextran sulphate and chitosan-sodium tripolyphosphate nanoparticles of Dorzolamide HCl. Dorzolamide HCl is used in higher doses (2–2.2%) topically resulting topical as well as systemic side effects, reducing the dose and making the formulation stay in ocular cavity can reduce the side effects. In the present study mucoadhesive nanoformulations of Dorzolamide HCl have been prepared by Ionotropic gelation mechanism and characterized for different parameters like particle size, zeta potential, drug entrapment, particle morphology; in-vitro drug release, ex-vivo transcorneal permeation and in vivo efficacy. The particles showed sustained in vitro drug release which followed the Higuchi kinetic model and release the drug by a combination of dissolution and diffusion. The formulations, namely DD3 and DS6, having least particle size (182.63 ± 4.64 and 172.3 ± 9.03 nm) and highest zeta potential (43.03 ± 0.51 and 36.46 ± 0.59 mV) were selected for further studies. The particles were spherical and scattered. PXRD and DSC indicated decrease in crystallinity of drug in the nanoparticle formulation. Optimized formulations exhibited excellent transcorneal permeation with no signs of corneal damage (% hydration 75–80%) and found mucoadhesive (93.37 ± 1.86% and 91.59 ± 1.48%) and stable. The in vivo ocular hypotensive activity revealed significantly higher hypotensive activity (p < 0.05) with no signs of ocular irritation. Hence can be considered for the clinical application.

Gen Z consumers are the most lucrative segment concerning fashion products, including apparel and have showcased a willingness to shift towards more sustainable processes. This research explores the mediating role of positive attitude towards sustainable apparel with green perceived value and intention to purchase sustainable apparel amongst Gen Z. The paper also explores a moderated mediation model with materialistic values and consumer knowledge about sustainable apparel as moderators. A survey method was employed to collect data, and 308 undergraduate students from universities of Delhi – National Capital Region (NCR) were selected as respondents. The study results indicated a partial mediating role of positive attitude towards sustainable apparel and confirms the moderating role of materialistic values and consumer knowledge about sustainable apparel. Further, materialistic values and consumer knowledge were suggested as significant moderators in the model. The study also confirms a significant relationship among – green perceived value, positive attitude towards sustainable apparel, and intention to purchase sustainable apparel.

Ankylosis of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a disabling disease resulting from fibrous or bony fusion of the mandibular condyle and the glenoid fossa. Early diagnosis and surgical treatment are essential to prevent facial deformity and other complications. Conventional radiography has limitations in demonstrating the true extent of ankylosis. It is important for surgeons to be aware of the size and degree of bony ankylosis in order to perform complete resection of the ankylotic mass. In addition, a detailed evaluation of the relationship with adjacent vital structures such as the internal maxillary artery, inferior alveolar nerve canal, external auditory canal, and skull base are crucial to avoid iatrogenic injury. Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is the current imaging modality of choice for preoperative assessments. Herein, the authors propose a structured CT reporting template for TMJ ankylosis to strengthen the value of the preoperative imaging report and to reduce the rates of intraoperative complications and recurrence.

<P>A sensitive radioactive aerosols sensor has been designed and developed. Its design guidance is based on the need for a low operational cost and reliable measurements to provide daily aerosol monitoring. The exposure of diethylene-glycol bis (allylcarbonate) to radiation causes modification of its physico-chemical properties like surface roughness and reflectance. In the present study, optical sensor based on the reflectance measurement has been developed with an aim to monitor real time presence of alpha radioactive aerosols emitted from thorium nitrate hydrate. The results shows that the fabricated sensor can detect 0.0157 kBq to 0.1572 kBq of radio activity by radioactive aerosols generated from (Th(NO3)4 ??? 5H2O) at 0.1 ml/min flow rate. The proposed instrument will be helpful to monitor radioactive aerosols in/around a nuclear facility, building construction sites, mines, and granite polishing factories.</P>
A novel approach for preferential recovery of Sr from (Sr, Th)O<sub>2</sub>

Quantitative leaching of Sr from homogeneous and calcined (Th,Sr) O<SUB>2</SUB> in dilute perchloric acid medium suggests the possibility of reducing the hazardousness of discharged nuclear fuel by separation of <SUP>90</SUP>Sr, a prominent fission product at dissolution stage itself rather than the conventional approach of its recovery from high level nuclear waste. Apart from mitigating the radiotoxicity of the nuclear waste, recovered <SUP>90</SUP>Sr can be employed as a compact heat source and as parent radionuclide for <SUP>90</SUP>Y (used in therapy radiopharmaceuticals), provided it can be made available at desired high purity. Leaching behavior of few other fission products was also investigated to quantify their contamination in leached Sr. Feasibility of employing extraction chromatography using Sr selective resin was explored in perchloric acid medium. In this context, the distribution coefficients of <SUP>85</SUP>Sr(II), Th (IV), Zr(IV), Y(III), Pd(II) as well as <SUP>152</SUP>Eu(III) and <SUP>137</SUP>Cs (I) were determined under varying nitric acid/perchloric acid concentration and under varying loading conditions of metal ions. Perchloric acid medium appears better than nitric acid medium for preferential leaching of Sr from (Th,Sr)O<SUB>2</SUB> as well as for uptake of Sr by Sr selective chromatographic resin.
