Current Issues Vaccine Allergy
Arvind Madaan and Daniel E Maddox 대한천식알레르기학회 2004 천식 및 알레르기 Vol.24 No.2
Vaccines provide a safe and effective approach to prevent infectious and allergic diseases. Allergic reactions to vaccines and drug products have become an important feature of modern day clinical practice. Most of these reactions are mild, but healthcare providers should be aware of the potential serious adverse reactions. The diagnosis of vaccine allergy is usually based on a detailed history and physical examination. Prevention, avoidance, the use of alternative agents, desensitization, and premedication remain the cornerstones of therapy even as more refined diagnostic and management tools are being developed. Additional studies that are aimed at identifying other causes of immediate hypersensitivity after immunization with live virus vaccines are warranted.
Dynamic System Modeling for Closed Loop Supply Chains System
Wadhwa, Subhash,Madaan, Jitendra Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers 2008 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.7 No.1
The need for holistic modeling efforts for returns that capture the extended closed loop supply chain (CLSC) system at strategic as well as operational level has been clearly recognized by the industry and academia. Strategic decision-makers need comprehensive models that can guide them in efficient decision-making to increase the profitability of the entire forward and return chain. Therefore, determination of a near optimal design configuration, which includes the environmental, economical and technological capability factors, is important in strategic decision-making effort that affect the profitability of the closed loop supply chain. In this paper, we adopted an improved system dynamics methodology to tackle strategic issues that affect various performance measures, like market, time/cost, environment etc., for closed loop supply chains. After studying real life implementation issues in CLSC design, we presented guidelines for the PBM (Participative Business Modeling) methodology and presented its extension for the strategic dynamic system modeling of return chains. Finally, we demonstrated the measurement of operational performance by extending SD (system dynamic) application to closed loop supply chain management.

Chyle leaks are uncommon complications after head and neck surgeries. Although uncommon, such a complication is noteworthy mention due to its perplexing diagnosis and management strategies. This scoping review aims to highlight and emphasize the diagnosis and management options proposed in the literature. A comprehensive search was performed in PubMed, Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases and identified 617 articles that were reduced to 40 studies and reports after applying the eligibility criteria. Although numerous treatment options ranging from simple, conservative measures to invasive surgical procedures have been mentioned for low-output, high-output, and massive leaks, there is no concrete evidence on the best method. Thus, a combination of management options must be customized by case for optimum results.
