        Effect of annealing treatment on the uniformity of CeO2/TiO2 bilayer resistive switching memory devices

        Bilayer CeO2/TiO2 films with high-k dielectric property were prepared by rf magnetron sputtering technique at room temperature. Effect of annealing treatment on resistive switching (RS) properties of bilayer CeO2/TiO2 films in O2 ambient at different temperature in the range of 350e550 C was investigated. Our results revealed that the bilayer films had good interfacial property at 500 C and this annealing temperature is optimum for different RS characteristics. Results showed that bilayer CeO2/TiO2 film perform better uniformity and reliability in resistive switching at intermediate temperature (i.e. 450 C and 500 C) instead of low and high annealing temperature (i.e. 350 C and 550 C) at which it exhibits poor crystalline structure with more amorphous background. Less Gibbs free energy of TiO2 as compared to CeO2 results in an easier re-oxidation of the filament through the oxygen exchange with TaN electrode. However, the excellent endurance property (>2500 cycles), data retentions (105 s) and good cycle-to-cycle uniformity is observed only in 500 C annealed devices. The plots of cumulative probability, essential memory parameter, show a good distribution of Set/Reset voltage.

        Magnetic and microwave attenuation behavior of Al-substituted Co2W hexaferrites synthesized by sol-gel autocombustion process

        A series of Al-substituted Co2Whexaferrites BaCo2AlxFe16-xO27 (x = 0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1) synthesized by sol-gel autocombustion method have been investigated. The samples were characterized by DTA/TGA analysis, FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray Diffractometer and field emission gun scanning electron microscopy (FEGSEM). Magnetic behavior of a selected sample was examined up to a magnetic field of 9T between a temperature range of 4.2 K-400 K. The values of saturation magnetization were calculated by the law of approach to saturation. The coercivity of the investigated sample has a value of about hundred oersteds at room temperature which is favorable for EM materials. The complex permittivity and complex permeability of a composite sample have been measured in the frequency range of 0.5-13 GHz. Based on the theoretical calculation of reflection loss; the microwave absorption properties have been investigated.         The role of Ga substitution on magnetic and electromagnetic properties of nano-sized W-type hexagonal ferrites

        A series of nano-sized single phase W-type SrGaxZn2Fe16xO27 (x ¼ 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) hexaferrites prepared by sol gel technique and sintered at 950 C have been investigated. The thermal decomposition behavior of nitrateecitrate gel of as prepared powder was investigated by means of DTA/TGA analysis. The sintered powders were characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM, VSM and vector network analyzer (VNA). Xray diffraction patterns for pure and substituted W-type hexaferrites show the single phase structure with no impurity phase. The lattice parameters (a and c) decrease with the increase of Ga contents (x). The grain size estimated from SEM images is in the range of 139e76 nm which confirms the nanocrystalline nature of the investigated samples. The saturation magnetization (Ms) decreases whereas coercivity (Hc) increases with the increase of Ga contents (x). The values of Hc for all of the investigated samples lie in the range of few hundred oersteds which is one of the necessary conditions for EM materials. The microwave absorption property is enhanced in the frequency (with respect to 20 dB) from 0.5 to 13 GHz, and the bandwidth reaches 0.899 GHz. The attenuation peak value is 32 dB at the matching thickness of 3.4 mm.
