        쌀 胚乳의 Amylose含量에 미치는 Wx 因子의 Dosage 効果 1. Base Color의 Isogenic Line을 利用한 交配種子의 Amylose含量

        Isogenic lines for glutinous endosperm and base color in rice were used to obtain different endosperm genotypes, wxwxwx, wxwxWx, WxWxwx and WxWxWx. The base color was used as the marker gene to elliminate the selfed seeds. The amylose content of rice endosperm was significantly different among genotypes. The dosage effect of the Wx allele seemed to be additive in its action on the amylose content, though the amylose content is not directly proportional to the number of Wx dose. The effects of Wx allele to wx and H-Wx allele to L-Wx, the first one dose (xwxw Wx/L, wxwx Wx/H and WxWx/L Wx/H) is most significant and the effect of 2 doses(WxWx wx/L and WxWx wx/H) and 3 doses (WxWxWx/L and WxWxWx/H) were linearly increased.

        Variability of Protein Content in Rice Grown at Several Different Environments

        Protein content of Korean native and currently recommended varieties varied from 5.3% to 9.4%. Higher protein content was shown in Indicas than Japonicas and generally in the earlier varieties than in the latter ones. Additional application of nitrogen significantly increased the protein content, and varietal difference in this response was noticed. Delayed harvesting reduced protein content and denser planting induced higher protein content in the brown rice.

        수도 품종간 교잡에 있어서의 초장의 유전 분리 1. Indica x Indica 조합

        A genetrc study was made on plant height of indica rices with a few segregating F2 populations involving three semi-dwarf varieties such as T(N)I, CP231-SLO17, and B569A12. These populations were grown in breeding nursery at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) during several seasons. 20 to 25 day old seedlings grown at upland seedbed were transplanted to the paddy in a single plant hill spacing 30 cm ${\times}$ 25cm. Measurements of plant height were made from the juncture between culm and roots to the tip of the longest panicle of a plant pulled out from the paddy when they are matured. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Tall indica varieties originated from the south-east Asian countries could be classified into two groups depending upon their allelism whether they showed monogenic segregating ratio of 3:1 or not when they were crossed to T(N)1. 2. Most of U.S. varieties, especially semi-dwarf breedirg materials such as CP231 ${\times}$ SIO17 and B569A12, did not show monogenic segregating mode of 3:1 ratio when they were crossed to T(N)1 or to other varieties bearing the same genetic allele of T(N)1 such as Peta and Sigadis.

        水稻의 濃綠葉色과 Dripping Wet 形質의 連鎖分析

        A dripping wet character was found in some F₂ families of the cross Suwon224× Malagkit Sinaguing, where the parental varieties were all normal. This dripping wet line(wx139) was crossed to the genetic stock H106 which had dark green leaf color liguleless and narrow leaf character. The dripping wet character of wx139 and the dark green leaf color of H106 appeared to be controlled by a single recessive gene, drp and dg, respectively. Linkage relations were found between dg and drp, dg and lg (liguleless) and dg and nal (narrow leaf) with the recombination values of 8.6, 7.3 and 6. 0% respectively. These genes arranged in the order of nal-dg-lg-drp.

        쌀 胚乳의 Alkali 崩壞性의 遺傳 Ⅱ. 高ㆍ中ㆍ低 Alkali 崩壞性 組合에서 雜種種字 (F₁)의 Alkali 崩壞性의 表現과 그 遺傳分離

        Alkali digestibility value (ADV) were tested for the F₁ and F₂ seeds of the crosses among low, medium and high ADV parents. Hybrid seeds of seven possible different combinations among low, medium and high ADV parents, i.e. LLL, LLM, MML, MMM, MMH, HHM, and HHH, were obtained at high and low temperature utilizing cytoplasmic male sterility to minimize the influences of hybridization operations. ADV of seven different hybrids LLL, LLM, MML, MMM, MMH, HHM, and HHH were 1.25, 1.63, 1.80, 3.43, 4.68, 4.95, and 5.67 at high temperature and 1.82, 4.00, 4.19, 6.38, 6.38 6.38 and 6.50 at low temperature respectively. ADV of F₂ seeds turned out 3 low to 1 medium in the cross of low and medium ADV parents while no theoretical value observed in the cross of medium and high ADV parents at both temperature conditions. From the results it was concluded that the ADV is controlled by one major gene, low ADV being dominant over medium ADV, and a few minor genes which modifying the ADV of different medium 1 low dosages of endosperm, while the dosage effect of high ADV to medium ADV appeared to be additive at high temperature only. All the combinations showed significantly high ADV value at the low temperature, and the temperature effects were higher in the M-ADV combinations.

        水稻 耐病 耐蟲 耐冷性 品種育成에 關한 硏究 1. 水稻 IR2061 의 흰빛잎마름病 抵抗性의 遺傳

        The resistance to the bacterial leaf blight derived from cultivar IR2061-214-2 in rice was controlled by a single dominant gene, and it was located in linkage group II of Nagao and Takahashi. It was independent from the semi-dwarf plant type and resistance to brown plant hopper and smaller brown plant hopper which are not identified their linkage relations yet. To assure the inheritance of the resistance to the bacterial leaf blight(Xanthomonas oryzae) derived from cultivar IR2061-214-2 and 7 linkage tester lines. The cultivar IR2061-214-2 is a semi-dwarf line resistant to brown plant hopper (Nilaparvata lugens) and smaller brown plant hopper(Laodelphax striatellus). Their F₁s and F₂s were grown along thir parents, and the segregation of the characters were studied. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The resistance to the bacterial leaf blight derived from cvltivar IR2061-214-2 inherits as coutrolled by a single dominant gene. 2. The resistance (Xa) showed linkage with the characters such as phenol staining (Ph), liguless (lg) and the complementary gene of purple pericarp (Pb) with the recombination values of 6.1%, 8.1% and 34.3% respectively. The serial loci are estimated as in the order of Pb-lg-Ph-Xa. 3. The resistance to the bacterial leaf blight was independent from the semi-dwarf plant type. 4. The resistance to the bacterial leaf blight was also independent from the resistance to the brown plant hopper and smaller brown plant hopper.

        水稻 品種間 交雜에 交雜에 있어서 稈長의 稈長의 遺傳分離 Ⅶ. 劣性稈長 特性의 遺傳分離

        A rice genetic stock “Davis 80”, which has recessive tall uppermost internode designated as eui, was crossed with 2 Tongil Type semi-dwarf cultivar ωχ 817 and Nampung, one semi-dwarf Japonica Reimei, 2 tall Japonica Han #7 and Jinheung, and the culm length and the internode lengths were tested for their parents, F₁s and F₂S. The results are summarized as follows ; 1. The culm length of F₁ plants of Nampung cross was same as short parent Nam.pung, and in the rest combinations the culm length of F₁s were in between short and tall parents. 2. For the culm length of F₂s, in the crosses of Davis 80/ωχ 817, Davis 80/ Nampung and Davis 80/ Reimei, short and tall segregated in to 3 to 1 ratio. But the mode of the short and the tall group were significantly taller than their short and tall parents. In the crosses of Davis 80/Han #7 and Davis 80/Jinheung the segregation mode was typical non-allelic one. 3. For the first internode length of F₂s, in the crosses of Davis 80/Reimei and Davis 80/Jinheung showed 3:1 ratio segregation for short and long. In the rest combinations, the segregation modes were non-allelic. 4. The correlation coefficients between culm length and each internode length were significant. Especially, for those of 1st, 3rd and 4th were highly significant. 5. The correlation coefficients between culm length and heading time, panicle length, panicle exsertion and thickness of panicle neck were significant. The correlation cofficients between culm length and heading time were negative in the early F₂ populations and positive in the late F₂ populations.

        The Segregation Mode of Plant Height in the Crosses of Rice Varieties Ⅱ. Japonica × Japonica

        Indica벼의 T(N)1 短稈性遺傳子에 相應하는 短稈性 Japonica를 發見하기 爲하여 Japonica의 많은 組合이 檢討되어 크게 3가지 類型으로 區別되었는데 여기에 報告된 結果틀 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1. 正常的인 穗型ㆍ粒型을 갖인 Waesung5호와 29443 T₂, Ebisu型의 一種인 Tankanbaekmang, 그리고 Bonsai型의 29439-S₂, 304 및 530 突然變異系統등은 普通稈長인 品種들과의 組合에서 3:1의 分離比를 나타냈다. 2. Waesung 5호×Tankanbaekmang 組合에서는 F₁은 正常高稈이고 F₂에서는 正常 : 短稈 : 二重短稈이 9:6:1로 分離되었고 短稈은 穗型으로 Waesung 5호型과 Tankanbaekmang型으로 區別할수 있어서 1:1로 分離되었다. 3. 短稈品種으로 알려진 Reimeix 앉음방이 組合의 F₂는 거의 normal curve로 表示되는 分離를 보였다. 4. 29439-T₂의 短稈遺傳子가 Waesung 5호의 그것과 같은 것인지는 아직 밝혀지지 못했지만 草型은 Waesung 5호보다 좋았다. Three different modes of F₂segregation for the culm length were observed in the Japonica × Japonica rice crosses, they are 3:1, 9:6:1 and nearly normal curve. Among those simple recessive dwarf varieties, Waesung #5 and 26443-T2 were, unlike other simple recessive Japonica dwarfs so far reported, distinctly different simple recessive dwarf with normal panicles and grains.

        멸구類에 대한 手稻 品種抵抗性의 遺傳 Ⅰ. 벼멸구에 대한 抵抗性의 遺傳

        Six crosses were made to study the inheritance of resistance to brown planthopper(Nilaparuata lugens Stal.) with four resistant rice varieties, Mudgo, Co 22, IR 2061 and A.SD 7, and two susceptible breeding lines, Wx 126 and Wx 206. Seedling reactions to brown planthopper in hybrid populations were checked individually, and the results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. A single dominant gene controlled the resistance of Mudgo, Co 22 and IR 2061. The resistance of ASD 7 was conditioned by a single recessive gene. 2. It was found that the resistance gene in IR 2061 was as same as in Mudge. 3. The reaction of the resistance gene to brown planthopper found in Korea was as same as in Philippines and Taiwan. 4. The resistanec gene to brown planthopper in IR 2061 was inherited independently from the gene controlling the smoothness of leaf blade.

        Indica×Japonica 交雜에 있어서 米粒의 Alkali 崩壞性의 遺傳

        In order to investigate the inheritance of alkali digestibility of milled white rice in Indica x Japonica crosses, 2 Indica varieties (CP_(231)-SLO_(17) and BPI-76) and 4 Japonica varieties(Palkweng, Suwon 118, Norin 42, and Chianung 242) were crossed each other, and the milled white rice of parents, F₁s and F₂s were treated with 1.70% of potassium hydroxide solution at 30℃ for 18 hours long. The alkali digestibility of individual grains were numerically scored in accordance with a reading scale (Index) which divided into 7 grades. The results obtained were summarize das follows; 1) Low digestibility seemed to be dominant over high digestibility in Indica × Japonica crosses. 2) The distribution of alkali digestibility grade of F₂seeds in Indica × Japonica crosses were not continuous and segregated into 3 low and 1 high, and the results indicate that the alkali digestibility of milled white rice in Indica × Japonica crosses is controlled by a single gene. 3) The reciprocal effects of alkali digestibility was not detected both in F₁and F₂seeds.
