A 2 MW-3.7 GHz lower hybrid current drive (LHCD) system is under development for physicsexperiments on the HL-2A device. The RF Power is generated by four TH2103A klystron amplifiersand propagates in the TE10 mode through WR284 waveguides. The transmission lines with a lengthof 20 m to 30 m are pressurized with 2 bars of nitrogen to decrease the possibility of arcing. Thelauncher, based on the passive-active multi-junction (PAM) concept, has been developed and iscurrently being realized. It was designed for a power spectrum peaked at Nk = 2.75 with goodcoupling properties over a wide range of plasma parameters. The four klystrons are fed by ahigh-voltage power supply (HVPS) based on the pulse step modulation (PSM) concept with a fastswitch-off time of less than ten μs. This system is expected to be in operation within 1 years and willexplore many international thermonuclear experimental reactor (ITER) related LH experiments inthe following years.

Cloning and Biochemical Characterization of a Hyaluronate Lyase from Bacillus sp. CQMU-D

        Wang Lu,Liu Qianqian,Gong Xue,Jian Wenwen,Cui Yihong,Jia Qianying,Zhang Jibei,Zhang Yi,Guo Yanan,Lu He,Tu Zeng 한국미생물·생명공학회 2023 Journal of microbiology and biotechnology Vol.33 No.2

Hyaluronidase (HAase) can enhance drug diffusion and dissipate edema by degrading hyaluronic acid (HA) in the extracellular matrix into unsaturated HA oligosaccharides in mammalian tissues. Microorganisms are recognized as valuable sources of HAase. In this study, a new hyaluronate lyase (HAaseD) from Bacillus sp. CQMU-D was expressed in Escherichia coli BL21, purified, and characterized. The results showed that HAaseD belonged to the polysaccharide lyase (PL) 8 family and had a molecular weight of 123 kDa. HAaseD could degrade chondroitin sulfate (CS) -A, CS-B, CSC, and HA, with the highest activity toward HA. The optimum temperature and pH value of HAaseD were 40°C and 7.0, respectively. In addition, HAaseD retained stability in an alkaline environment and displayed higher activity with appropriate concentrations of metal ions. Moreover, HAaseD was an endolytic hyaluronate lyase that could degrade HA to produce unsaturated HA oligosaccharides. Together, our findings indicate that HAaseD from Bacillus sp. CQMU-D is a new hyaluronate lyase and with excellent potential for application in industrial production.

Acupuncture-related therapies for protracted opioid abstinence syndrome: A systematic review and meta-analysis

        Ding Lu,Cui Li,Zhang Peiming,Chen Chen,Zhan Jie,Zeng Jinchun,Lu Liming 한국한의학연구원 2023 Integrative Medicine Research Vol.12 No.3

Background: An increasing amount of clinical evidence of acupuncture's effect on protracted opioid abstinence syndrome (POAS) has emerged in recent years. The aim of this study was to evaluating the evidence of efficacy of acupuncture for POAS. clinical and scientific research work. Methods: Four English-language databases (PubMed, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Libraries) and three Chinese-language databases (CNKI, WanFang and VIP Libraries) were searched, with coverage from database inception to March 31, 2022. Randomized clinical trials (RCTs) evaluating the effects of acupuncture and acupuncture-related therapies for prophylaxis or treatment of POAS were included. Data were screened and extracted independently according to pre-set tabular formats. RCT quality was assessed using risk of bias tool in the Cochrane Collaboration. The primary outcome was opiate withdrawal scale. The secondary outcomes are depression, anxiety for assessing protracted symptoms. The scores on the above scales are proportional to the severity of the symptoms. Results: Twenty-eight trials met the inclusion criteria and provided data for the meta-analysis. A total of only 3 studies (11%) were judged to be low-risk overall due to various biases in them. Acupuncture-related therapy showed statistical differences in improving protracted withdrawal symptom scores compared with sham acupuncture (5 studies, Standard mean difference (SMD), -1.85, 95% CI [-3.21, -0.50], P = 0.007), western medicine(7 studies, SMD, -0.72, 95% CI [-1.22, -0.21], P = 0.005)and no treatment(3 studies, SMD,-2.26, 95% CI [-3.82, -0.69], P = 0.005)with high heterogeneity. Conclusions: Acupuncture maybe safe and effective in relieving POAS individuals’ protracted withdrawal symptoms. However, the results of our review should be interpreted with caution because of the high risk of bias of the included trials.

      • Prognostic Significance of Beta-Catenin Expression in Patients with Esophageal Carcinoma: a Meta-analysis

        Zeng, Rong,Duan, Lei,Kong, Yu-Ke,Wu, Xiao-Lu,Wang, Ya,Xin, Gang,Yang, Ke-Hu Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.15

Many studies have reported ${\beta}$-catenin involvement in the development of esophageal carcinoma (EC), but its prognostic significance for EC patients remains controversial. Therefore, we conducted this meta-analysis to explore the issue in detail. After searching PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, we included a total of ten relevant studies. We pooled the overall survival (OS) data using RevMan 5.2 software. The results showed that aberrant expression of ${\beta}$-catenin was associated with a significant increase of mortality risk (hazard ratio 1.71, 95%CI 1.46-2.01; p<0.00001). Subgroup analyses further suggested that aberrant expression of ${\beta}$-catenin resulted in poor OS of EC patients regardless of histological type of EC, study location or criteria for aberrant expression of ${\beta}$-catenin, and the sensitivity analyses revealed that the result was robust. The meta-analysis revealed that aberrant expression of ${\beta}$-catenin could be a predicative factor of poor prognosis for EC patients.

      • Fluorenyl Based Macrocyclic Polyradicaloids

        Lu, Xuefeng,Lee, Sangsu,Hong, Yongseok,Phan, Hoa,Gopalakrishna, Tullimilli Y.,Herng, Tun Seng,Tanaka, Takayuki,Sandoval-Salinas, Marí,a Eugenia,Zeng, Wangdong,Ding, Jun,Casanova, David,Osuka, At American Chemical Society 2017 JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY - Vol.139 No.37

Synthesis of stable open-shell polyradicaloids including control of intramolecular spin-spin interactions is a challenging topic in organic chemistry and materials science. Herein, we report the synthesis and physical characterization of two series of fluorenyl based macrocyclic polyradicaloids. In one series (FR-MCn, n = 4-6), the fluorenyl radicals are directly linked at 3,6-positions; whereas in the other series (MC-FnAn, n = 3-5), an additional ethynylene moiety is inserted between the neighboring fluorenyl units. To access stable macrocyclic polyradicaloids, three synthetic methods were developed. All of these stable macrocycles can be purified by normal silica gel column chromatography under ambient conditions. In all cases, moderate polyradical characters were calculated by restricted active space spin-flip method due to the moderate intramolecular antiferromagnetic spin-spin interactions. The excitation energies from the low-spin ground state to the lowest high-spin excited state were evaluated by superconducting quantum interference device measurements. Their physical properties were also compared with the respective linear fluorenyl radical oligomers (FR-n, n = 3-6). It is found that the geometry, i.e., the distortional angle and spacer (w or w/o ethynylene) between the neighboring fluorenyl units, has significant effect on their polyradical character, excitation energy, one-photon absorption, two-photon absorption and electrochemical properties. In addition, the macrocyclic tetramers FR-MC4 and MC-F4A4 showed global antiaromatic character due to cyclic pi-conjugation with 36 and 44 pi-electrons, respectively.

        Lu Dezhi,Yang Yang,Zhang Pingping,Ma Zhenjiang,Li Wentao,Song Yan,Feng Haiyang,Yu Wenqiang,Ren Fuchao,Li Tao,Zeng Hong,Wang Jinwu 한국조직공학과 재생의학회 2022 조직공학과 재생의학 Vol.19 No.6

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a disabling and destructive central nervous system injury that has not yet been successfully treated at this stage. Three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting has become a promising method to produce more biologically complex microstructures, which fabricate living neural constructs with anatomically accurate complex geometries and spatial distributions of neural stem cells, and this is critical in the treatment of SCI. With the development of 3D printing technology and the deepening of research, neural tissue engineering research using different printing methods, bio-inks, and cells to repair SCI has achieved certain results. Although satisfactory results have not yet been achieved, they have provided novel ideas for the clinical treatment of SCI. Considering the potential impact of 3D bioprinting technology on neural studies, this review focuses on 3D bioprinting methods widely used in SCI neural tissue engineering, and the latest technological applications of bioprinting of nerve tissues for the repair of SCI are discussed. In addition to introducing the recent progress, this work also describes the existing limitations and highlights emerging possibilities and future prospects in this field.

New PWM predictive control suitable for low carrier ratio of permanent magnet synchronous motor drive systems

Lu, Jinnan,Liu, Zhixiang,Zeng, Wei,Ren, Ze The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2021 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.21 No.6

The drive inverters for high-power motors often need to reduce the carrier ratio (usually by reducing the lower switching frequency) to increase its capacity. However, the low carrier ratio results in motor control performance degradation. In this paper, an inverter and a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) are integrated to establish a unified prediction model with the delay caused by sampling and modulation that cannot be ignored under a low carrier ratio. Based on this model, a new PWM predictive control suitable for low carrier ratio (PPC-LCR) is proposed, which has better stability, dynamic performance, model accuracy and robustness under a low carrier ratio. To further enhance the control accuracy of the proposed strategy, prediction errors by parameter mismatch are analyzed, and a correction method of feedbacking the last beat prediction error is proposed to compensate for model error and parameter mismatch. Finally, experimental results are presented to support theoretical analysis and the proposed strategy.

MODEL PREDICTIVE TRAJECTORY OPTIMIZATION AND TRACKING IN HIGHLY CONSTRAINED ENVIRONMENTS

        Lu Xiong,Zhiqiang Fu,Zixuan Qian,Bo Leng,Dequan Zeng,Yanjun Huang 한국자동차공학회 2022 International journal of automotive technology Vol.23 No.4

This paper presents a model predictive trajectory optimization and tracking framework to avoid collisions for autonomous vehicles in highly constrained environments. Firstly, a vehicle model is established in road coordinate system to describe the relationship between the vehicle and the reference road. Secondly, a numerical optimization method is applied to smoothen the reference path generated by waypoints. Then, a multilayer searched method is used to establish a safe driving corridor in highly constrained environments. In addition, an optimal path optimization and tracking framework based on model predictive control is formulated to improve the driving safety and comfort. The proposed framework considers the constraints of path boundaries and vehicle dynamics to provide the optimal control command. Furthermore, the speed profile is optimized based on the longitudinal motion model in space domain to ensure the constraints of speed limits and vehicle acceleration. Finally, the proposed algorithms are evaluated through experiments in various scenarios to demonstrate the effectiveness.

Complex dental anomalies in a belatedly diagnosed cleidocranial dysplasia patient

        Lu, Hui,Zeng, Binghui,Yu, Dongsheng,Jing, Xiangyi,Hu, Bin,Zhao, Wei,Wang, Yiming Korean Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology 2015 Imaging Science in Dentistry Vol.46 No.1

Cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD) is a rare congenital disorder, typically characterized by persistently open skull sutures, aplastic or hypoplastic clavicles, and supernumerary teeth. Mutations in the gene encoding the runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) protein are responsible for approximately two thirds of CCD patients. We report a 20-year-old CCD patient presenting not only with typical skeletal changes, but also complex dental anomalies. A previously undiagnosed odontoma, 14 supernumerary teeth, a cystic lesion, and previously unreported fused primary teeth were discovered on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans. Mutation analysis identified the causal c.578G>A (p.R193Q) mutation in the RUNX2 gene. At 20 years of age, the patient had already missed the optimal period for dental intervention. This report describes the complex dental anomalies in a belatedly diagnosed CCD patient, and emphasizes the significance of CBCT assessment for the detection of dental anomalies and the importance of early treatment to achieve good outcomes.
