Post-Use의 사용자조사를 위한 기초연구 : Post-Use의 정의와 사례조사를 중심으로

This study tries to understand, define, and categorize Post-Use as fundamental research of user research on Post-Use. Since user research has been mostly focused on tbe acquisition of product, and its usage so far, user research on Post-Use didn't get much attention, and were almost neglected. In order to figure out the potential of user research on Post-Use, the concept of Post-Use itself needs to be understood and well defined first of all. In order to define the concept of Post-Use, it is also required to look at life cycle of product, because it is the base that can be used in the definition of Post-Use. After understanding life cycle of product, and defining Post-Use, it can be largely classified into 3 categories: reuse, recycle, and remanufacture. Categories of reuse and remanufacture have its sub categories such as reuse by recognition, distribution, and repair, and remanufacture by component, and product itself. Based on these categories, case study was conducted. This study is helpful for understanding the concept of Post-Use, and expected to be utilized as a fundamental frame for conducting user study in the follow up research.
사용자 조사 데이터 인터프리테이션 타입과 영향 : 구조화 방식과 비구조화 방식을 중심으로

User research has become a commonplace for reasons. For the better understanding about users, many user research methods have been developed so far. However, interpretation, process that takes researcher from data to conclusion has received little attention in literature on design research. Meanwhile, as focus of research shift from work efficiency to aspects of everyday life and emotion, new user-centered design methods appeared such as cultural probe. Unlike existing social science-based interpretation approach which pursues correct understanding about users through systematic inductive reasoning, art-based cultural probe asked researchers not to analyze probe returns but to use value of ambiguity through the process like making gossips about users from user data. With the appearance of probe, this tension has become issue around interpretation. With the lack of research on interpretation, there's few research which explain tradition and procedure of both interpretation approach, but there's lack of understanding about how these two approaches affect on user data use and its implication on results such as insights and initial idea in the practical design project of a team. In this paper, we explored key difference of two approaches especially in terms of patters of data use for building insight and initial idea. We expect that result of this research will let designers and researchers have deeper understanding about interpretation process and give rich methodological reflection for further revise or development of interpretation process for effective user research process.
