        This paper represents an improved ECG data reduction algorithm which is very useful for real time ECG analysis based-on microcomputer. In order to increase data reduction rate of Turning Point(TP), existing real time data reduction algorithm. The results obtained from the improved Modified Turning point(MTP) data reduction algorithm applied to three different pattern ECG signals. (1) The average data reduction rate of MTP algorithm is 67%, which is increased by 17% than that of TP algorithm. (2) The average percent rms difference(APRD) which is a normalized value that indicates the error between two signals is 9.4% for TP algorithm, while the APRD of MTP algorithm is 6.2% for MTP algorithm. It means that the PRD can be improved by 3.19. Therefore, it gives more excellent resolution than that of TP algorithm.

        The College of Engineering was specialized to have a sole function for supplying technical high school teachers in 1977 and referred to as the College of Industrial Education according to the Government's policy. The economic impact mainly due to the oil-crises caused a severe problem to this college, namely discrepancy of supply to demand scale. Accordingly the number of student enrollment was to be fluctuated from 479 in 1979 through 800 in 1979 and 900 in 1980 to 430 in 1981. And the engineering departments have been attached to this Engineering Education College since 1981. These circumstanses met singnificant inefficiency in facility operation. This program aims at providing an overall relocation of the college facilities and preparing the practical system to make the joint-operation possible taking into account circulation, academic stream, budget, maintenance, etc. However this study could not get optimal spacing but some trade-off, considering the current situation.

        Beat map drawing method for large oriental bell based on operational deflection shape method

        Oriental bells produce a peculiar sound in the form of beats, which are periodic repetitions of strong and weak sounds. A beating sound with a proper period gives the illusion of the bell being alive and breathing. To produce a good beating sound, appropriate modal parameters are required for beat tuning after casting the bell. Conventionally, modal parameters were extracted using frequency response functions of the excitation and response signals. However, a large oriental bell is usually struck by a heavy wooden hammer and hence, only the response signal can be measured. In this study, we extract the modal parameters using the response signal only and employ the data to predict the beat properties of the bell sound. Finally, the validity of the predicted beat properties is experimentally verified for a large oriental bell.

      • Beat wave method for mode pair extraction of a bell type structure

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>This paper presents a mode pair extraction method for a bell-type structure that employs a generated beat response signal. Due to the occurrence of small asymmetries in the bell structure, a mode pair can be observed on the circumference. Each mode in the pair has very close frequencies and interference between these frequencies produces beats. Beats are a very interesting acoustics phenomenon in the bell sound. Controlling the beat characteristics requires extraction of a mode pair after the bell is cast. The conventional modal test needed excitation force and response signals at several points. On the contrary, the proposed method requires only the beat response measured at two points on the circumference. This method applied the theory of shell-of-revolution and measured the amplitude ratios of the beat wave’s peak and the valley. The position of the nodes and anti-nodes of the mode pair was determined using the amplitude ratio and the auto-spectrum. The validity of the new method was verified by comparing the experimental results with those of the multi-point test method. Moreover, this method is much simpler and faster than the conventional ones.</P>

        CA-CAS-01-A: A Permissive Cell Line for Isolation and Live Attenuated Vaccine Development Against African Swine Fever Virus

        African swine fever virus (ASFV) is the causative agent of the highly lethal African swine fever disease that affects domestic pigs and wild boars. In spite of the rapid spread of the virus worldwide, there is no licensed vaccine available. The lack of a suitable cell line for ASFV propagation hinders the development of a safe and effective vaccine. For ASFV propagation, primary swine macrophages and monocytes have been widely studied. However, obtaining these cells can be time-consuming and expensive, making them unsuitable for mass vaccine production. The goal of this study was to validate the suitability of novel CA-CAS-01-A (CAS-01) cells, which was identified as a highly permissive cell clone for ASFV replication in the MA-104 parental cell line for live attenuated vaccine development. Through a screening experiment, maximum ASFV replication was observed in the CAS-01 cell compared to other sub-clones of MA-104 with 14.89 and log10 7.5 ± 0.15 Ct value and TCID50/ ml value respectively. When CAS-01 cells are inoculated with ASFV, replication of ASFV was confirmed by Ct value for ASFV DNA, HAD50/ ml assay, TCID50/ ml assay, and cytopathic effects and hemadsoption were observed similar to those in primary porcine alveolar macrophages after 5th passage. Additionally, we demonstrated stable replication and adaptation of ASFV over the serial passage. These results suggest that CAS-01 cells will be a valuable and promising cell line for ASFV isolation, replication, and development of live attenuated vaccines.

        In this study, the interior noise of the next generation high-speed train (HST) is analysed by using the statistical energy analysis (SEA) method. Exterior sound level data are used as input and for the sound transmission loss of each panel, intensity transmission loss is measured based on ASTM E2249-02. For the interior acoustic property, reverberation time of the passenger compartment is measured. Finally, interior noise level is measured in a running train at 350㎞/h in order to verify the validity of the simulation result.

        Unitex structure is world is world widely used for floor panel of the most of the electrical trains. It has advantage of high bending stiffness per weight and fire retardant property and easy construction with low cost. In respect of sound insulation, however, it has limitation as the panel structure has a lot of small pores and significant leakage of the sound power is available through the pores. In this study, we estimate the sound insulation performance the core of the unitex structure and investigate the problem of the sound insulation. Intensity transmission loss is measured on the manufactured specimens according to ASTM E2249-02. Based on the measured data and mass law values, a strategy to improve the sound insulation performance of the structure is proposed.

        2018 평창동계올림픽대종의 맥놀이 조절

        2018 평창 동계올림픽대종(이하 올림픽대종)은 2018 동계올림픽의 성공적인 개최를 기원하기 위하여 제작되었다. 올림픽대종은 항아리 모양의 전통 범종 구조에 세계 스포츠 축제를 기념하는 역동적인 소리를 내도록 설계되었다. 종소리가 힘차게 들리기 위해서는 맥놀이가 선명하고 주기가 너무 짧거나 길지 않아야 한다. 그러나 맥놀이는 주조과정에서 발생하는 미세한 비대칭성에 기인하므로 설계단계에서는 예측이 불가능하다. 주조 후 올림픽대종의 맥놀이는 거의 들리지 않을 정도로 주기가 지나치게 길었다. 본 연구에서는 등가 종 모델을 이용하여 맥놀이 주기를 조절하였다. 맥놀이를 만드는 진동 모드쌍을 측정하여 등가 종의 유한요소모델을 구성하였다. 등가 종 모델의 하부 두께를 국부적으로 감소시키면서 맥놀이의 변화를 해석적으로 구하였다. 해석 결과를 이용하여 선명하고 적절한 주기의 1차음 맥놀이를 만들었고, 힘차고 역동적인 소리를 내는 것을 실험적으로 확인하였다. The Great Bell of 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics (Olympic Bell) was built to symbolize hope for the successful hosting of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Olympic Bell was designed to provide a dynamic sound at the world sports festival in the form of a traditional Korean bell shaped like a jar. For the dynamic sound of the bell, the beating sound should be clear and not too short or too long. However, beating was not predictable at the design stage because it was caused by the minute asymmetry in the casting process. After the casting, the beat period of the Olympic Bell was too long for the sound to be heard as desired. In this study, we improved the beat period using an equivalent bell model. A finite element model of the equivalent bell was constructed using the measured vibration modes that compose the beat. The change in beat period was analytically determined while gradually reducing the local thickness of the equivalent bell model. As a result, we created a strong and appropriate period of beat, and experimently confirmed that it produces powerful, dynamic sounds.

      • 경춘선 일반 전동열차와 ITX의 실내 소음 특성

        Since opening of the double track railway for the Gyeongchun local electric train and the semi-high speed train, ITX, floating population between Seoul and Chuncheon has rapidly increased. This is attributable to the competitiveness of the railway vehicle in aspect of punctuality and safety of the operation, mass transportation and low fare. However, in terms of the interior noise, many passengers have a strong dissatisfaction, especially in tunnel sections, and displeasure according to the high interior noise rapidly increases. In this study, interior noise characteristics of Gyeongchun local electric train and ITX are analyzed and compared- Noise levels, frequency spectrum and sound quality indices are compared between the open land, tunnel and bridge. By comparing the noise levels depending on the location in the compartment, we identify the noise transmission path and provide a basic strategy to reduce the interior noise.
