        Modification of Optical and Mechanical Surface Properties of Sputter-Deposited Aluminum Thin Films through Ion Implantation

        Aluminum (Al) thin films are used widely as an electronic material in a variety of applications because of their high conductivity, optical reflectance and low cost. In the present study, helium (He) and nitrogen (N2) ions were implanted in sputter-deposited Al thin films with different doses and energies, and the changes in the film properties, such as the surface roughness, optical reflectance, hardness and Young's modulus, were investigated. The results showed that the implantation of both ions smooth the surface of Al thin films by decreasing the hillock density, resulting in low global surface roughness. In particular, in the case of He ion implantation, the moderated degradation of optical reflectance was observed compared to the film implanted with nitrogen ion. On the other hand, excessive ion implantation increased the local (short-range) surface roughness, which deteriorated the optical reflectance of the Al films. The continuous stiffness measurement technique in nano-indentation showed that ion implantation increased the hardness near the surface. He ion implantation hardened the surface of the Al thin film, and almost 2 times higher surface hardness was achieved with an ion dose of $10^{18}ions/cm^2$ at 40 KeV.

      • 晋州地域 新洞層群 및 河陽層群下部 砂岩의 粒間物質과 積成作用

        39 sandstone samples of the Sindong Group and Lower Hayang Group in Jinju area were studied, putting emphasis on interstital materials, diagenesis phase, mineral constituents, and textural parameter. The results obtained may be generalized as the following. 1) Calcite, contained on average 14% of the mineral constituents and mainly occurred single crystals which completely bounding the grains, is the carbonate cements most common with the simple cements that occupy some parts of the pore space of the sandstone taken from the study area. 2) Locomorphic diagenesis changes, such as cementation (carbonate and silicate), mineral replacement (cacite-clay replacement, feldspar-calcite replacement, calcite-quartz replacement. etc.), and authigenic silicate overgrowth are found in most of the sandstones taken from the study area. The net effect of these diagenesis stage and mineral(calcite and silica) cementation is to diminish or destory the primary intergranular porosity. 3) According to these evidences that a considerable amount of calcite was pricipitated in pore space as cements and diagenetic changes such as calcite replacement of clay matrix, quartz grain replaced by calcite, and partial replacement of detrital feldspar grain by calcite was made in the sandstones, it can be inferred that the PH of water when the Sindong Group sandstones were deposited was alkaline condition greater than 7.8. 4) Sandstone type of Jinju area mainly belongs to feldspathic arenite and arkose clan (according to sandstone classification of Folk, Dapple, and Okada), and textural maturity belongs to submature clan.

      • 發癌物質과 非發癌物質의 DNA-Modifying Activity에 대한 量子生物學的 解釋

        LCAOMO calculation has been carried out for thirty chemical carcinogens and nine metabolites of them. The LUMO electron density which is a measure of ability electron to be accepted and observed DNA-Modifying activity which is a measure of mutation relationship was considered. It was found that the sum of LUMO electron density of 1, 2, 4-positions of a relevant trans-butadiene type (F??) in the compound was correlative to DNA-Modifying activity. This means that carcinogenesis closely relate to mutagensis, since the LUMO electron density is a measure of carcinogenic activity of carcinogens as shown earlier. It was also found that LUMO electron density of 1, 2, 4-positions in compounds increase with their metabolic activation. This is in agreement with the experimental result that carcinogen is more electrophilic as metabolic activation. In conclusion, it may be possible to give a theoretical interpretation on the mutation of chemical carcinogens and explain theoretically the fact that the compound have a strong elestrophilicity on metabolic activation.

      • 생체분해성 고분자의 특성 및 의학적 응용

        "Biomaterials" are nonviable materials used in medical devices, intended to interact with biological systems. They should have "biocompativility", which is defined as the ability of materials to perform with an appropriate host response in a specific application. It includes many materials that are often classified as biomaterials. Metals, ceramics, polymers, glasses, carbons, and composite materials are some examples. Among them, biodegradable polymers are discussed in this revies article. Since a biodegradable polymeric implant does not have to be removed surgically once it is no longer needed, biodegradable polymers are of value in short-term applications that require only the temporary presence of a polymeric implant. Main short-term medical applications of biodegradable polymers include the temporary tissue scaffold, the temporary adhesion barrier, the drug delivery device, and the multifunctional implant. In this article, the properties, processing methods, and medical applications of the biodegradable polymers are reviewed.

      • 갑상샘암 수술환자의 심리 및 신체적 불편감에 미치는 정보교육 프로그램 효과

        본 연구는 정보교육 프로그램이 갑상샘암 수술 환자의 심리 및 신체적 불편감 감소에 미치는 효과를 검정하기 위해 실시된 비동등성 대조군 전,후 시차 설계의 유사 실험연구이다. 자료수집 기간은 2006년 6월 17일 부터 9월 19일 까지 3개월간 이었으며, 연구 대상자는 일개 종합병원에 갑상샘암 수술을 받기위해 입원한 환자 가운데 6월 17일 부터 8월 3일 까지 입원환자 29명을 대조군으로 하였고, 8월 5일 부터 9월 19일 까지 입원환자 30명을 실험군으로 하였다. 연구도구는 심리적 불편감을 측정하기 위해 Derogatis 등(14)이 개발한 ‘자기보고식 다차원 증상목록(Multidimensional Symptom Inven- tory)검사를 사용하였고, 신체적 불편감 측정은 McCorkle & Young(16)이 개발한 도구를 사용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다; 1) 정보교육 프로그램을 받은 실험군은 정보교육 프로그램을 받지 않은 대조군에 비해 심리적 불편감 정도의 차이는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다(p= .135). 다만 ‘근심 걱정’요인에서 유의한 불편감 감소효과를 보였다(p= 0.49) . 2) 정보교육 프로그램을 받은 실험군과 정보교육 프로그램을 받지 않은 대조군은 두군 모두 신체적 불편감 정도가 사후 유의한 수준으로 증가함을 보였다(p= 0.90). 결론적으로 본 연구를 위해 만들어진 정보교육 프로그램은 갑상샘암 수술 환자의 신체적 불편감 감소에는 효과적이지 못하였으나 심리적 불편감의 근심걱정 요인을 감소시키는데는 효과가 있음을 알게 되었다. Objectives: This study was designed as a non-equivalent control group pre and post-test quasi-experimental study to examine the effects of education program using information on the psychological and physical discomfort of patients undergoing operation for cancerous thyroid glands. Methods: The study covered for three months from June 17, 2006 to September 19, 2006. The subjects of this study were selected from those patients who were admitted in one of the general hospitals in order to receive the operation for cancerous thyroid glands. They include 29 control group patients who were hospitalized during the period of Jun 17th to August 3rd 2006, and 31 experimental group patients who were hospitalized during the period of August 5th to September 19th, 2006, respectively. The instruments utilized for conducting this study includes the Multidimensional Self-Report Symptom Inventory test originally developed by Derogatis & et al. (1983) for measuring psychological discomfort. And for measuring physical discomfort, the tools developed by McCorkle & Young (1978) was utilized. Results: 1) Hypothesis 1 “The level of psychological discomfort of the experimental group who completed the information education program would be decreased comparing with that of the control group who didn't complete the program” was partly supported (Worry & Anxiety factor: p= .049). 2) Hypothesis 2 “The level of physical discomfort of the experimental group who completed the information education program would be reduced comparing with that of the control group who didn't complete the program” was not supported (p= -.90). Conclusion: The information program provided for this study was proved to be not effective for decrease physical discomfort of the patients undergoing operations for cancerous thyroid glands but proved to be effective for decrease the anxiety factor of psychological discomfort.

      • Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA)시 Grid 사용유무에 따른 화상변화에 관한 연구

        It has been investigated the variation of the image for using and no using the Grid at the D.S.A(Digital Subtraction Angiography) system. The result of experiment indicated that in the case of no using the Grid, (1) the irradiation dose of patient was reduced and the life of X-ray tube prolonged. (2) the variation of the contrast was not influence of using the Grid.

        웹 환경에서 중학교 체육교과 보조학습 시스템 개발 및 평가

        정보통신기술을 학교 교육에 도입함으로써 전통적인 교육방법과 교육내용 등에 획기적인 변화가 일어나고 있다. 이러한 변화에 따라 제7차 교육과정에서는 모든 교과 수업의 10%이상을 ICT를 활용하여 수업하도록 유도하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 제7차 교육과정의 체육교과 수업에서 ICT를 효율적으로 활용하기 위한 방법을 찾고자 체육교과에 적합한 코스웨어 설계 기본 방향을 설정하였다. 그리고 중학교 육상 단거리 달리기, 전력 달리기 동작 등을 대상으로 웹, 플래시와 데이터베이스 등을 이용하여 원격학습 프로그램을 개발하고 중학생 4개 학급의 140명 학생들을 대상으로 수업한 후에 효율성을 평가하였다. 설문과 시험을 통한 평가 결과에 따르면 학생들은 ICT 활용교육은 수업내용의 이해에 효과적이고, 수업 집중이 잘되고, 학생들이 능동적으로 수업에 참여하는 것으로 나타났다. There are making epoch changes of a teaching method and educational contents as information communication technology(ICT) introduced to school education. The 7th curriculum induces that teaching hours should be assigned to education using ICT more than 10% of all classroom work hours. In this study. we established basic course of' courseware design for applying ICT to physical education effectively in the 7th curriculum. We developed distance-learning program for motion of short-distance race and the entire his power race in middle school using Web. Flash and Database. And w+e evaluated efficiency by students that are 4 classrooms(140 persons) after teaching using the WBI. According to results of questions and a test. the students expressed that education using ICT make understanding of instruction substance effectively, concentrating their attention on leaching and concerning in teaching actively.

      • 변수에 의한 함수 지도가 함수개념의 형성에 미치는 효과

        The purpose of this study is to develop learning materials for functional concept on variable and to verify the effect of how well students could learn functional concept after they studied with those materials. To accomplish the purpose of this study, I developed learning materials and after teaching students with them. I have concluded the followings : First, there was little effect in teaching functional concept on variable between two experimental groups, whereas teaching functional concept had greater effect on forming functional concept in high level groups in those two experimental groups. Second, teaching functional concept on variable had little effect on students' understanding of functional concept and perfecting tables in Black box, graph, and mathematical problems, whereas there was much effect in students' understanding functional concept and solving relation formula, in age, and range problems related to everyday life or general things. On the basis of the problems which appeared in the process of this study, the following can be suggested : First, we should develop learning materials fit for low level students so that they could understand functional concept. Second, we should continue to teach the basic problems like solving relation formula, image, and range, and understanding functional concept in graph until students are able to understand them exactly. Third, since the goals of Unit Function in a middle school textbook is to solve problems related to everyday life through functional thinking, there should be change in constructing systematic contents of Unit Function in a middle school textbook.
