아사미문고 언해본 『廣濟秘?鄕藥五十種治法』 발굴과 그 의의

『Kwangje-bikeup(廣濟秘?)』 is the medical volume that was written in 1790 just in a span of three months by Lee-kyunghwa under the auspices of Lee-byungmo, the then governor of Hamkyung province. The short time of three months is deemed the urgent need of medical book that dealt with famine and epidemic rampant around the northern provinces of Joseon Dynasty at the time. 『Kwangje-bikeup』 focuses on emergent diseases in such a way that the first-aid treatments of those was arranged in the first part, followed by the chapter of "miscellaneous diseases", "obstetrics and gynecology" and "pediatrics". This book is composed of the division four and postscript of the 『Kwangje-bikeup』, reconfigured into Korean vernacular language in order to maximize the comprehensibility and usefulness of first-aid medicines. Vernacular translation was meant for the easy access to medical treatments by grass-roots that were illiterate to abstruse Chinese. This was the exact same case with first-aid writings such as 『Eonhae-gugeupbang(諺解救急方)』 and 『Gugeup-kanyibang(救急簡易方諺解)』. One of the medical challenges in Joseon Dynasty was the shortage of medicines. Accordingly medicines easily found in Korean Peninsula were generally favored as a treatment, which was exemplifiedd as a unique feature in medical books mentioned above. Another feature of Korean medical writings was the manual-like explanation of treatment practices in medical writing rather than long and unintelligible ones of etiology and pathology, and the adoption of "one medical stuff for cure" policy. It represents the localization of imported medical knowledge and practices from outside. This book originated from such historical stream that was marked by the characteristics listed above.

<P>Alginate hydrogels are for various biomedical applications including tissue engineering, cell therapy, and drug delivery. However, it is not easy to control swelling or viscoelastic and biophysical properties of alginate hydrogels prepared by conventional cross-linking methods (ionic interaction using divalent cations). In this study, we describe a bioinspired approach for preparing divalent ion-free alginate hydrogels that exhibit tunable physical and mechanical properties and improved biocompatibility due to the absence of cations in the gel matrices. We conjugated dopamine, a minimalized adhesive motif found in the holdfast pads of mussels, to alginate backbones (alginate-catechol) and the tethered catechols underwent oxidative cross-linking. This resulted in divalent cation-free alginate hydrogels. The swelling ratios and moduli of the alginate-catechol hydrogels are readily tunable, which is difficult to achieve in ionic bond-based alginate hydrogels. Furthermore, alginate-catechol hydrogels enhanced the survival of various human primary cells including stem cells in the three-dimensional gel matrix, indicating that intrinsic cytotoxicity caused by divalent cations becomes negligible when employing catechol oxidation for alginate cross-linking. The inflammatory response in vivo was also significantly attenuated compared to conventional alginate hydrogels with calcium cross-linking. This biomimetic approach for the preparation of alginate hydrogels may provide a novel platform technology to develop tunable, functional, biocompatible, three-dimensional scaffolds for tissue engineering and cell therapy.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/bomaf6/2013/bomaf6.2013.14.issue-6/bm400352d/production/images/medium/bm-2013-00352d_0009.gif'></P>
Effect of sodium silicate on early growth stages of wheat under drought stress

Wheat yield is decreasing due to climate change, and a method to prevent decreasing yield during drought stress is desirable. In this study, wheat cultivars (Koso and Jokyung) were treated with 15% polyethylene glycol-6000 (PEG) and PEG + Si solution (6.5, 8.7, 13.1 and 26.1 mM). The effect of Si treatment on the alleviation of drought stress was measured using the germination test, shoot relative water content (RWC), seedling stage observation, and quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). The results of root/shoot length ratio and shoot length ratio showed that Si treatment induced the alleviation of drought stress in Jokyung cultivar. The result of qRT-PCR showed the alleviation of drought stress in Koso cultivar. In addition, the results with shoot RWC and seedling stage observation showed that the alleviation effects of Si treatment was observed with both Koso and Jokyung cultivar at the high concentration of Si (26.1 mM). All these results suggest that Si treatment at a high concentration could be employed to alleviate drought stress in wheat.

현 사회에서 사용하고 있는 문서들은 양식을 가지고 있는 서식문서가 대부분이며, 이러한 양식을 가지고 있는 서식문서는 사회가 발전함에 따라 전자 문서로의 변경이 요구되고 있다. 그러나 서식문서를 전자 문서로 바꾸는 작업은 쉬운 일이 아니며, 이 작업을 위해 문자인식 기술이 요구된다. 특히 서식문서에서 문자의 인식률을 높이기 위해서는 문서양식의 라인과 겹쳐진 문자에 대하여 라인제거 및 문자복원이 필수적이며, 또한 대부분의 서식 문서의 양식에 가입하는 내용은 문자열로 구성되어 있으므로 문자복원에 있어서 낱자 단위의 문자복원이 아닌 문자열 단위의 문자복원이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 서식문서에서 라인과 겹쳐진 문자 영상에 대해 문자열 단위의 라인제거 및 복원하는 방법을 제안한다.
