        A Case of Erythema Multiforme A ssociated with Malignant Lymphoma Un Cheol Yeo, M.D., Kwang Hyun Cho, M.D., Yoo Shin Lee, M.D., Dae Seog Heo*, M.D., Seoung Chul Lee**, M.D Department of Dermatology and Internal Medicine*, College of Medicine, Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, Department of Dermatology**, College of Medicine, Inha University, Kyung Gi Do, Korea We report a case of erythema multiforme associated with malignant lymphoma. Fifty-six-year-old male patient visited our clinic complaining generalized skin lesions which were compatible with erythema multiforme clinically and histopathologically. The skin lesions were treatment-resistant, recurrent and persistent for 3 years. In consideration of old age, atypical features of erythema multiforme and no other demonstrable etiology of erythema multiforme, we studied for internal malignancy. Malignant lymphoma at the duodenum was revealed by UGI series, abdominal CT, and endoscopic biopsy. After chemotherapy, the tumor mass and active skin lesions were cleared simultaneously. Erythema multiforme may be regarded as one of the paraneoplastic syndromes.

        This paper deals with designing the linear power amplifier using MESFET and Schottky diode. The power amplifier is designed to be ensure 3-W linear output using MESFET, and made up of 3-stage class-AB amplifiers in cascade. By choosing the final stage as the balanced structure, the output linearity is enhanced. The balanced structure of amplifier is composed of the Wilkinson power divider and combiner. In the designed 3-stage amplifier, when the input power is lower than -5dBm, power gain is 38dB. And it rapidly decreases as the input power increases larger than -5dBm. Therefore, to compensate for decreasing the gain, pre-distorter circuit is inserted in front of 3-stage amplifier. The pre-distorter is implemented using parallel Schottky diode. The optimized linear power amplifier is composed of these pre-distorter and 3-stage power amplifier. As a result, when the maximum input power is 9dBm, the 1-dB gain compression point of linear power amplifier, P1dB, is 37.61dBm

Therefore. to compensate for the linearity of the power amplifier. pre-distorter circuit is inserted in front of 3-stage amplifier. The pre-distorter is implemented using parallel Schotty diode. The optimized linear power amplifier is cornposed of these pre-distorter and 3-stage power amplifier.

      • 목재의 방부제 함침량에 따른 접촉 및 비접촉 초음파 비파괴평가에 관한 연구

        Air-coupled ultrasound is a non-contact technique and has obvious advantages over water-coupled experimentation. Especially, wood materials are very sensitive to water and inspection without any coupling medium of a liquid is really needed to wood materials due to the permeation of coupling medium such as water. It is desirable to perform nondestructive evaluation (NDE) to assess material properties and absorption content for wood because the wood is consisted of various contents. In this work several ultrasonic techniques were applied to wood for the evaluation of spatial variations in material properties. The spatial variation of ultrasonic velocity was measured and found to be consistent with the nonuniform content area in the course of nature absorption. Low frequency (1 ㎒) through-transmission scans based on both amplitude and time-of-flight of the ultrasonic pulse were used for mapping out the material property inhomogeneity. These results were compared with those obtained by non-contacting and dry-coupling ultrasonics. A good correlation was found between ultrasonic velocity and material density on a set of small blocks cut out of wood.

      • 낙동강 수계의 인, 질소 및 Chl.a 농도 분포 : The distributions of phosphorus, nitrogen, and chlorophyll a concentration in the Nakdong River

        The longitudinal variations of water quality along the mainstream of the Nak-ding River from May 1994 to October was surveyed by the measurement of chl-orophyll a, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, dissolved inorganic phosphorus, nitrate-nitrogen, ammonia-nitrogen concentration, and secchi disc transparancy. Chl. a, TP, TN, DIP, NO_(3) and NH_(3)-N concentration was maintained at high level during the investigation period. And they also showed the peak after the input of Kumho River. Chl. a concentration was increased from 14.2㎎/㎥ in May to 95.2 in October. TP ane TN concentration was maintained always above 100㎎/㎥ and 3~4㎎N/l, respectively. TN/TP ratio were less than 16 from June to September with a few exceptions. Therefore, nitrogen is the limit-ing nutrient in the Nakdong River. Trophic states were in the range of eutrophic to hypertrophic, from 60 to80.

      • 두개하악장애 환자의 하악운동에 관한 연구

        ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the mandibular movements of TMD patients comparing to normal persons. Sirognathograph was used to measure five parameters of mandibular movements of twenty normal persons and eight TMDpatients. Five parameters were (1) Maximum opening during maximum opening and closing, (2) Mean velocity during maximum opening and closing, (3) Maximum opening during unilateral chewing, (4) Mean velocity during unilateral chewing, (5) Consistency of mandibular movement during unilateral chewing.Based on above results, new Mandibular Movement Index(M.M.L) was formulated and compared to Helkimo's Clinical Dysfunction Index by measuring two indices before treatment and 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, 8 weeks after treatment.The conclusions were as follows:1. The amounts of maximum opening and mean velocity during maximum opening and closing of TMD patients were less than those of normal persons (p<0.01). 2. The amounts of maximum opening and mean velocity during unilateral chewing of TMD patients were less than those of normal persons (p<0.05) (p<0.01). 3. Although TMD patients showed limited mandibular movements during unilateral chewing, the consistency of mandibular movements was better than that of normal persons (p<0.05). 4. Both mandibular movement index and Helkimo's Clinical Dysfunction Index, were useful in diagnosing TMD patients.       • 식품의 물성이 저작근의 활성도 및 저작 양태에 미치는 영향

        To elucidate the effects of food texture such as hardness, cohesiveness, adhesiveness on mastication procedure, the electromyographic activity (EMG) of the masticatory muscles and the chewing movements were analyzed in eighteen young subjects during ordinary chewing. Seven different foods were selected by sensory texture profiling and mechanical test with texturometer; egg white, sausage, pizza cheese, yang-geng, biscuit, peanut and almond. The indexes of jaw movements used were the chewing number, chewing time, maximum opening, average opening, closing velocity and opening velocity. The EMG indexes analyzed were maximum and average integrated amplitude of the anterior temporal and masseter muscles. The results obtained were as follows. 1. The chewing time and chewing number, mandibular displacement and mandibular movement velocity were not changed by the hardness, cohesiveness and adhesiveness of the food (p>0.05). 2. The harder food materials showed a higher amplitude of the anterior temporal muscle integrated EMGs than the softer ones (p<0.05). 3. The maximum and average integrated EMGs of the masseter muscle increased with the increase of hardness of the food (p<0.05). 4. The integrated EMGs of preferred side and non-preferred side masticatory muscles increased with the increase of hardness of the food (p<0.05). 5. The adhesiveness and cohesiveness of the food were not the determining factor to the integrated EMGs of masticatory muscles (p<0.05).

      • 소양호 유역에서 비점오염원의 홍수유출과 오염수괴의 호수내 이동

        In Korea most of nutrient tending into lakes is concentrated in stormy seasons. Phosphorus lording and transport of turbid storm runoff water was investigated in a reservoir, Lake Soyang, Korea. Concentration of phosphorus was measured at ten meter intervals on the monthly babe in dry seasons and biweekly in stormy seasons. The loading from drainage basin was determined by measuring total phosphorus (TP)concentration in the main in flowing stream, the Soyang River. Because total phosphorus concentration and flow rate of the Soyang River was high in flood period, most of annual phosphorus tending was concentrated in several sporadic storm runoff. In July of 181)8 phosphorus input was 418 tP/month. It was much higher than that in June, 6.0 tP/month. 10% of annual total phosphorus input was discharged through outlet during the period from ,lune to October. Turbidity was much higher(2~ 78 NTU) in stormy seasons than in dry seasons (1 ~ 9 NTU). Cold storm runoff laden with high turbidity and phosphorus flowed into metalimnion along the layer of same densify. Total phosphours concentration of intermediate turbid water ranged from 20 to 230 ?gp/m³. After stormy seasons high nutrient concentration was con-sistently observed at intermediate layer until autumn turnover. In autumn descending mixing depth caused increase of phosphorus concentration in the epilimnion.
