An estimation of surface roughness value is a very important and difficult issue in grinding process. The definition of the D.A.R.F(Dimensionless Average Roughness Factor) has been made including the absolute average and the standard deviation that are the parameters of the AE(Acoustic Emission) signal. The theoretical equation of the surface roughness applying the D.A.R.F has been derived from the regressive analysis and specified with respect to the availability through the experimental approach on the machine.

The species composition and distributional patterns of marine benthic algae in the coastal waters off Soo Island, Jinhae were investigated seasonally throughout 2018. A total of 87 species, 7 Chlorophyta 15 Phaeophyta, and 65 Rhodophyta were recorded, and dominant species were Ulva australia, Codium fragile, Sargassum horneri, S. micracanthum, Amphiroa beauvoisii, A. foliacea, Caulacanthus ustulatus, Ceramium sp., Chondracanthus intermedius, C. tenellus, Gelidium elegans, G. vagum, Lithophyllum okamurae, Lomentaria catenata, and Polysiphonia sp. during study periods. Especially the vertical distribution of dominant algal species was remarkable: U. australia, and C. fragile were dominated in the upper part, S. thunbergii, and C. tenellus were in the middle part, and S. micracanthum, S. horneri, A. beauvoisii, and L. catenata mainly occurred in the low part of tidal zone. The numbers of species were different with seasons and stations; Higher number of species was 56 species in winter, whereas 40 species were the lowest in summer. The number of algal species was higher at stations 5 and 6 while the lower value was at stations 1 and 2 than other stations. The spatial distribution of marine benthic algal composition in MDS ordination was due to differences in the local microhabitats for marine algal species and physical characteristics such as current and water movement.

The species composition and seasonal patterns in marine benthic algal community in the coastal waters off Soo Woo Island, Tongyeong were investigated seasonally throughout 2019. A total of 85 species, 9 Chlorophyta, 16 Phaeophyta, and 60 Rhodophyta, were recorded, and dominant species were Sargassum horneri, Caulacanthus ustulatus, Ceramium sp., Gracilaria textorii, Chondracanthus intermedius, Chondracanthus tenellus, Herpochondria elegans, Lithophyllum okamurae, Lomentaria catenata, Polysiphonia sp., and Pterocladiella capillacea during study periods. The number of species were differed with seasons and stations; Higher number of algal species was 52 species in spring, whereas 33 species was lower in summer. The number of algal species were higher at station 3, 4, while the lower value was at station 1, 6 than other stations. The differences of marine benthic algal composition at each station in MDS ordination due to the physical characteristics and local topography.
Feeding Ecology of Sillago japonica in an Eelgrass (Zostera marina) Bed

Feeding habits of Sillago japonica collected from in an eelgrass (Zostera marina) bed in Jindong Bay, Korea were studied. S. japonica was a carnivore which consumed mainly gammarid amphipods, polychaetes, bivalves, caridean shrimps and crabs. Its diets also included a small amount of fishes, copepods and caprellid amphipods. The diet of S. japonica underwent significant size-related changes; small individuals (<5cm SL) fed mainly on gammarid amphipods and crab larvae, while proportion of polychaetes and bivalves increased with increasing fish size and gammarid amphipods were also important prey for medium size individuals (5.1-9.9cm SL). The large individuals (>10cm SL) ate polychaetes, caridean shrimps and crabs. The dietary breadth of S. japonica were varied with size. The diet of S. japonica also underwent seasonal changes that could be related to differences in prey availability; gammarid amphipods were mainly consumed in spring and polychaetes in summer.
Feeding Habits of Rudarius ercodes in a Zostera marina Bed

Feeding habits of Rudarius ercodes collected from a Zostera marina bed in Jindong Bay, Korea were studied. R. ercodes was a omnivore which consumed mainly gammarid amphipods, polychaetes and eelgrass (z. marina). Its diets also included a small amount of copepods, urochordates and caprellid amphipods. R. ercodes showed ontogenetic changes in feeding habits. Small individuals less than 2cm SL fed mainly on copepods, however, gammarid amphipods and polychaetes were heavily selected with increasing fish size. The growth and estimated production of Acanthogobius flavimanus (1.9${\sim}$24.7 cm TL) were investigated in an eelgrass bed and unvegetated tidal flat of Dongdae Bay, Korea from March 2006 to February 2007. Growth in fish total length was expressed by the von Bertalanffy's growth equation as: $L_t=43.238(1-e^{-03138(t+02507)})$. Estimated densities, biomass, daily and annual production, and P/B ratio were higher at eelgrass bed than those of at unvegetated tidal flat. Monthly variation in daily production was large; the peak numbers occurred in November 2006 ($0.0014g/m^2$/day) at eelgrass bed, whereas was $0.002g/m^2$/day in July 2006 at unvegetated tidal flat. The eelgrass bed has been supported to maintain capacity of higher production of A. flavimanus than those of in unvegetated tidal flat.

Seasonal variation in the biomass of eelgrass (Zostera marina) and epiphytic algae in two eelgrass beds (Dongdae and Aenggang Bay) around Namhae Island was investigated throughout 2005. Shoot density and eelgrass biomass differed across months and locations. Peak shoot density occurred from April to August 2005, whereas eelgrass biomass was higher in July and August 2005. Shoot density as well as eelgrass biomass were higher in Dongdae Bay compared to Aenggang Bay. A total of 21 epiphytic algal species (4 Chlorophyta, 2 Phaeophyta, and 15 Rhodophyta) were collected, and dominant species included Polysiphonia japonica, Lomentaria hakodantensis, Symphyocladia latiuscula, Champia sp., and Heterosiphonia japonica. Seasonal variation in both the species composition and biomass of epiphytic algae was substantial: peak epiphytic algal biomass occurred in January and December 2005. We also observed high epiphytic algal biomass in the eelgrass bed of Dongdae Bay. Seasonal changes in the biomass of eelgrass and epiphytic algae were primarily influenced by water temperature, whereas those of the epiphytic algal community were also correlated with eelgrass (substrate) morphology and growth, the life cycle of epiphytic algae, and physical characteristics within eelgrass beds. The spatial variation of eelgrass density and biomass were also limited by sediment characteristics.
Feeding Habits of Stephanolepis cirrhifer in a Zostera marina Bed

진동만 잘피밭에서 채집된 쥐치의 식성을 조사하였다. 쥐치(1.2~9.6㎝ SL)의 주요 먹이생물은 단각류(옆새우류 및 카프렐라류)와 잘피였다. 그 다음으로 요각규, 갯지렁이류 등 등각류를 먹었다. 쥐취가 성장함에 따라 먹이생물의 조성이 점차 변하였다. 체장이 작은 쥐치는 요각류를 주로 먹었으나, 체장이 길어지면서 위 내용물 중 단각류의 비율이 증가하였다. 한편 모든 체장에서 잘피를 10~20% 정도씩 먹었다. 모든 체장에서의 Ditetary breadth 수치는 아주 낮게 나타났다. The objectives of this study to determine seasonal changes in species composition and abundance of fish and decapod assemblage, and the relationships between environmental factors and their abundance in an eelgrass bed of Jindong Bay. A total of 26 fish species and 29 decapod species were collected by a small beam trawl from an eelgrass bed in Jindong Bay in 2002. The dominant fish species were Hexagrammos otakii, Pholis neulosa and P. fangi and these accounted for 48.4 % in the total number of individuals. Dominant decapod taxa were Palaemon macrodactylus, Charybdis japonica, Pagurus minutus and C. bimaculata. These were primarily small species or early juveniles of larger species. Species composition and abundance varied greatly showing a peak in the number of individuals in April and May, and peak biomass in fish in July and decapods in August. Catch rate was low in winter months both in fish and in decapod. Seasonal changes in the abundance of fishes and decapods corresponded with eelgrass biomass and abundance of food organisms indirectly.
