        Physical Properties of Indium Reduced Materials for Transparent Conductive Electrodes

        In this paper, indium reduced materials for transparent conductive electrodes (TCE) were fabricated and their physical properties were evaluated. Two of materials, indium-zinc-tin oxide (IZTO) and aluminum (Al) were selected as TCE materials. In case of IZTO nanoparticles, composition ratios of In, Zn and Sn is 8:1:1 were synthesized. Size of the synthesized IZTO nanoparticles were less than 10 nm, and specific surface areas were about $90m^2/g$ indicating particle sizes are very fine. Also, the IZTO nanoparticles were well crystallized with (222) preferred orientation despite it was synthesized at the lowered temperature of $300^{\circ}C$. Composition ratios of In, Zn and Sn were very uniform in accordance with those as designed. Meanwhile, Al was deposited onto glass by sputtering in a vacuum chamber for mesh architecture. The Al was well deposited onto the glass, and no pore was observed from the Al surface. The sheet resistance of Al on glass was about $0.3{\Omega}/{\square}$ with small deviation of $0.025{\Omega}/{\square}$, and adhesion was good on the glass substrate since no pelt-off part of Al was observed by tape test. If the Al mesh is combined with ink coated layer which is consistent of IZTO nanoparticles, it is expected that the good and reliable metal mesh architecture for TCE will be formed.

      • 강섬유 혼입 모르타르 바름시공에 의한 조적벽체의 전단강도 증진 효과

        최근 국내 지진으로 인해 노후 조적조 건물의 피해가 확인되고 있는 상황이다. 이에 따라 조적벽에 강섬유 혼입 모르타르를 바름 시공하는 보강공법을 실험을 통하여 검증하였다. 벽체의 형상비에 따른 다양한 파괴모드를 고려하여 충분한 전단강도 증진 효과를 확인하는데 그 목적을 두었다. Due to recent earthquakes in Korea, damage to old masonry buildings has been observed. Accordingly, a strengthening effect is expected by plastering steel fiber reinforced mortar to the masonry wall. The purpose of this study is to verify a sufficient shear strength enhancement effect in consideration of various failure modes according to the aspect ratio of the wall.

        The α-viniferin was reported to show anti-inflammatory effects. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) expression was detected in most adenomas and aberrant crypt foci (ACF). Glycosphingolipids are involved which cell proliferation, differentiation and cellular interactions in the plasma membrane remain to be established. In the present study, experiments were designed to assess the potentialchemopreventive properties of α- viniferin on azoxymethane (AOM)-induced colorectal carcinogenesis. Administration of α-viniferin at dose 0.05 and 0.1mg/mouse during AOM-treatment for 5 weeks resulted in a dose-dependent reduction of ACF formation, being 75% and 64% (P<0.05) inhibition of the control value. Treatment of α-viniferin at dose 0.05 and 0.1mg/mouse for 28 weeks resulted in a dose-dependent suppress of colorectal carcinogenesis, being 80.2% and 49% (P<0.05) inhibition of the control. COX-2 expression were decreased on ACF tissue and colorectal tumor tissue treated with α-viniferin. In vitro, we demonstrated that α-viniferin play the roles such as activity of apoptosis, increase of caspase-3 and inhibition of COX-2 expression in Caco-2 colon cancer cells. High -performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) shows gangliosides GM3, GM2 and GT1b increasein the Caco-2 cells are treated with α-viniferin. Immunofluorescence stain results show GT1b and GM3 expression significantly increase in theCaco-2 cells by α-viniferin. The results indicated that suppression of colorectal carcinogenesis was related to the activityof apoptosis through caspases-3 activity, COX-2 inhibition and gangliosides expression by α-viniferin. These results suggested that α-viniferin may play roles of chemopreventiveproperty in carcinogens-induced colorectal carcinogenesis of mice.

      • Atomistic simulation for coil-to-globule transition of poly(2-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate)

        <P>The coil-to-globule transition of poly(2-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (PDMAEMA) in aqueous solution was investigated by all-atomistic molecular dynamics simulations. The polymer consistent force field (PCFF) was applied to the PDMAEMA model with a proper protonation state. The structural analysis indicates a distinct difference in the hydration state of particular functional groups of PDMAEMA as well as in the conformational state of PDMAEMA below and above the lower critical solution temperature (LCST). In particular, by monitoring the motion of water molecules, we observe that water molecules in the vicinity of the carbonyl group are relatively restricted to the motion in the globule state due to the extended relaxation time of hydrogen bonds among water molecules.       • Highly Condensed Fluorinated Methacrylate Hybrid Material for Transparent Low-<i>k</i> Passivation Layer in LCD-TFT

        <P>Photocurable and highly condensed fluorinated methacrylate oligosiloxane, with a low dielectric constant (<I>k</I> = 2.54), was prepared by a nonhydrolytic sol−gel condensation reaction. The oligosiloxane resin was then spin-coated, photocured, and thermally baked in order to fabricate a fluorinated methacrylate hybrid material (FM hybrimer) thin film. This study investigated the application of this FM hybrimer film as a low-k passivation layer in LCD-based thin film transistors (TFT). It was found that a dielectric constant as low as <I>k</I> = 2.54 could be obtained, without introducing pores in the dense FM hybrimer films. This study compares FM hybrimer film characteristics with those required for passivation layers in LCD-TFTs, including thermal stability, optical transmittance, hydrophobicity, gap fill, and planarization effects as well as electrical insulation.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/aamick/2010/aamick.2010.2.issue-3/am9008677/production/images/medium/am-2009-008677_0009.gif'></P>

        This research aims to review the amended evaluation standards of intelligent building certification system which enters into force from 1st July 2016. The evaluation standards are amended to suit the characteristics of intelligent buildings; eliminate duplications to other certification, remove classifications to evaluation standards (mandatory, evaluation, additional standards), strengthen the standards in energy sector, and create new standards relevant to BEMS. Regarding the residential building evaluation standards, 43 are removed from the existing 66, 14 are newly created, 25 are modified, and 3 are maintained. Similarly, regarding the non-residential building evaluation standards, 73 are removed from the existing 125, 7 are newly created, 7 BEMS relevant standards are also newly created, 26 are modified, 14 are maintained, and 12 are integrated. This amendment is to specify the operating agency looking forward to the next activation of the certification system, it is considered that the incentive to expand areas of certification necessary efforts so that the activation of certification can be done.

      • Atomistic insight into the role of amine groups in thermoresponsive poly(2-dialkylaminoethyl methacrylate)s

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The role of amine groups in the phase separation of thermoresponsive poly(2-dialkylaminoethyl methacrylate)s with dimethyl-, diethyl-, and diisopropylaminoethyl substituents has been studied by atomistic molecular dynamics simulations. The polymer chains present a more compact conformation at higher temperatures, losing contact with the water molecules. In the vicinity of the amine groups, the exclusion of water molecules increases with the increasing hydrophobicity of the amine moieties above the lower critical solution temperature. In particular, the potential of mean force results suggest that the formation of hydrogen bonding between the amine groups and water molecules involves more entropic contributions at higher temperatures in the cases of the diethylaminoethyl and diisopropylaminoethyl groups.
