This is a retrospective study on facial bone fractures of Koreans. This study was based on a series of 110 patients who had been treated for facial bone fractures as in patient at Guro Hospital, School of Medicine, Korea University for the period of September, 1984. to August. 1988. The results were obtained as follows : 1. 2nd decade(42.7%) was the highest age group in incidence, and age range was 2 years to 72 years, and the ration of Male/Female was 3.7 : 1 2. Falling was most frequent cause of facial bone fractures(40.9%) 3. The frequent location of facial bone fractures were mandibule(67.1%), zygoma & zygomatic arch(11.7%), maxilla(10.9%), and others in order. 4. In mandibular fractures, one site fractures showed 30.1% and two site fractures showed 58.8% and triple site fractures showed 11.1%. The most frequent site of mandibular fracture was symphysis(32.7%) 5. The most frequent month of facial bone fracture was September.

New synthetic method of 2-mercaptobenzoxazoles and 2-mercaptobenzimidazoles was established using elemental sulfur, dichloromethane, inorganic base and catalysts in alcohol solvents. This reaction condition gave products in high yields.

New quinoline compounds were designed, synthesized, and examined with sub mitochondria. Most compounds showed high activity against NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase. Inhibition activity was mainly affected by the length of the lipophilic part, regardless of bulkiness or to ration of a phenyl group in the side chain. The β-methyl group was demonstrated to be the optimal functionality on tire nuclei of the quinoline derivatives so that either deletion or insertion of a methyiene on the group eliminated its activity(Received January 25, 1991, Accepted Mach 25, 1991).

<P>We demonstrate high-performance perovskite solar cells with excellent electron transport properties using a one-dimensional (1D) electron transport layer (ETL). The 1D array-based ETL is comprised of 1D SnO2nanowires (NWs) array grown on a F:SnO2transparent conducting oxide substrate and rutile TiO2nanoshells epitaxially grown on the surface of the 1D SnO2NWs. The optimized devices show more than 95% internal quantum yield at 750 nm, and a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 14.2%. The high quantum yield is attributed to dramatically enhanced electron transport in the epitaxial TiO2layer, compared to that in conventional nanoparticle-based mesoporous TiO2(mp-TiO2) layers. In addition, the open space in the 1D array-based ETL increases the prevalence of uniform TiO2/perovskite junctions, leading to reproducible device performance with a high fill factor. This work offers a method to achieve reproducible, high-efficiency perovskite solar cells with high-speed electron transport.</P>

Representative synthetic piericidin-like compounds, such as hydroxypyridine and hydroxyquinoline derivatives, which showed high inhibition activity against NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase on the respiratory chain revealed good fungicide activity. Especially, hydroxypyridine ores showed high activity against rice blast (Pyricularia oryzae) and barley powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis) (Received August l3, accepted September 20, 1990).
