<P>A Gram-negative, non-motile, non-gliding, strictly aerobic, pale yellow colony-forming, rod-shaped bacterial strain, designated HM0024<SUP>T</SUP>, was isolated from coastal seawater of the Yellow Sea and subjected to a polyphasic taxonomy study. Based on 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities, strain HM0024<SUP>T</SUP> was most closely related to <I>Chryseobacterium balustinum</I> LMG 8329<SUP>T</SUP> (94.4 %), <I>Chryseobacterium scophthalmum</I> LMG 13028<SUP>T</SUP> (94.4 %), <I>Chryseobacterium piscium</I> LMG 23089<SUP>T</SUP> (94.3 %) and <I>Elizabethkingia meningoseptica</I> ATCC 13253<SUP>T</SUP> (94.0 %) and shared less than 92 % sequence similarity with other members of the family <I>Flavobacteriaceae</I>. Phylogenetic analyses showed that strain HM0024<SUP>T</SUP> formed an independent phyletic line of descent within the family <I>Flavobacteriaceae</I>. The DNA G+C content of the strain was 29.6 mol% and its major cellular fatty acids (>10 %) were iso-C15 : 0, iso-C17 : 0 3-OH, iso-C17 : 1<I>ω</I>7<I>c</I> and summed feature 3 (C16 : 1<I>ω</I>6<I>c</I> and/or C16 : 1<I>ω</I>7<I>c</I>). The major isoprenoid quinone was MK-6 and the major polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine and several aminolipids. Strain HM0024<SUP>T</SUP> was differentiated from phylogenetically related members of the family by having lower DNA G+C content, larger proportions of summed feature 3, anteiso-C15 : 0 and iso-C16 : 0 3-OH and particular phenotypic characteristics. On the basis of phenotypic and phylogenetic data, strain HM0024<SUP>T</SUP> is classified as a representative of a novel genus and species, for which the name <I>Soonwooa buanensis</I> gen. nov., sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain of <I>Soonwooa buanensis</I> is HM0024<SUP>T</SUP> (=KCTC 22689<SUP>T</SUP> =CECT 7503<SUP>T</SUP>).</P>

<P>Long-term operation of wearable pressure sensors to detect body movement requires self-powered human-based energy sources to minimize the need for recharging. Recently, pressure sensors with thermoelectric properties based on conducting polymers have been reported; however, these devices are limited in their ability to simultaneously achieve sufficient power generation and sensitivity of the sensor. In this article, we suggest a coaxial strut structure of poly(styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene)(SEBS)-poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)-melamine foam (MF) with a fractured microstructure for a highly sensitive, efficient self-powered pressure sensor. In the coaxial struts, the MF core provides a compressible and elastic framework; the intermediate PEDOT:PSS acts as a conductor and a thermoelectric material; and the SEBS shell ensures mechanical stability and resilience to stabilize the brittle PEDOT:PSS layer under high loading conditions. Additionally, by compressing the coaxial foam to 1/20, partial microfracture of PEDOT:PSS occurs only in the SEBS shell; thus, the pressure sensitivity increases significantly while maintaining high conductivity and thermoelectric performance. The coaxial foam was assembled into a wearable TEG to generate 338 nW from the forearms and demonstrate the high sensitivity of pressure sensors without an external power supply.</P>

This paper presents an automatic proficiency assessment method for a non-native Korean read utterance using bidirectional long short-term memory (BLSTM)-based acoustic models (AMs) and speech data augmentation techniques. Specifically, the proposed method considers two scenarios, with and without prompted text. The proposed method with the prompted text performs (a) a speech feature extraction step, (b) a forced-alignment step using a native AM and non-native AM, and (c) a linear regression-based proficiency scoring step for the five proficiency scores. Meanwhile, the proposed method without the prompted text additionally performs Korean speech recognition and a subword un-segmentation for the missing text. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method with prompted text improves the performance for all scores when compared to a method employing conventional AMs. In addition, the proposed method without the prompted text has a fluency score performance comparable to that of the method with prompted text.

Distributed consensus requires the consent of more than half of the congress to produce irreversible results, and the performance of the consensus algorithm deteriorates with the increase in the number of nodes. This problem can be addressed by delegating the agreement to a few selected nodes. Since the selected nodes must comply with the Byzantine node ratio criteria required by the algorithm, the result selected by any decentralized node cannot be trusted. However, some trusted nodes monopolize the consensus node selection process, thereby breaking decentralization and causing a trilemma. Therefore, a consensus node selection algorithm is required that can construct a congress that can withstand Byzantine faults with the decentralized method. In this paper, an algorithm based on the Byzantine agreement among decentralized agents to facilitate agreement between decentralization nodes is proposed. It selects a group of random consensus nodes per block by applying the proposed proof of nonce algorithm. By controlling the percentage of Byzantine included in the selected nodes, it solves the trilemma when an arbitrary node selects the consensus nodes.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>To enhance the photoelectric conversion efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), micron-size nanochannel TiO<SUB>2</SUB> particles were prepared by spray pyrolysis employing a triblock copolymer as a pore former. The as-prepared nanochannel TiO<SUB>2</SUB> was used to fabricate DSSC photoelectrodes, increasing the active area of TiO<SUB>2</SUB>/dye/electrolyte for improving charge transfer. Field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller analyses were performed to determine the morphologies and characteristic properties (e.g., porosity) of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> particles with nanochannels obtained for various copolymer amounts. The synthesized TiO<SUB>2</SUB> was made into a paste and applied to DSSC photoelectrodes, resulting in a substantially increased photoconversion efficiency (7.76%) compared to that of a copolymer-free TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-based DSSC (3.55%). The amounts of impregnated dye in TiO<SUB>2</SUB>-based photoelectrode films prepared using various copolymer amounts were compared using UV–vis absorbance analysis, being substantially increased by triblock copolymer addition.</P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
