The hot deformation behavior of advanced reduced-activation alloy (ARAA) was investigated using hot torsion tests. Thefl ow stress decreased as deformation temperature increased and as strain rate decreased. The fl ow behavior demonstratedthe typical dynamic recrystallization (DRX). Based on the constitutive analysis of peak stress, the activation energy for hotdeformation was found to be 330.3 kJ mol −1 . Peak stress was analyzed as a function of the Zener–Hollomon parameter, andcalculated and experimental values were in good agreement. A DRX kinetic model for ARAA was derived with deformationconditions based on the Avrami-type model. It was confi rmed that the volume fraction of dynamically recrystallized grainsincreased as deformation temperature increased and as strain rate decreased. The necklace structure and grain boundarybulging were observed in the deformed microstructure of ARAA. The suggested DRX mechanism for ARAA during hotworking is discontinuous DRX.

To isolate Lactic acid bacteria for animals, we have screened from Kim-chi, swine intestine, swine feces, and dairy products by random selection and anti-viral, antipathogenic bacteria test. Among them, CLP-1 shown that inhibitory effect against rotavirus, porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) virus, Salmonella sp, and E.coli. By examining biological property, API-ZYM and identified Lactobacillus plantarum by 16S rDNAgene sequence. CLP-1 determined resistance to low pH and bile salt. Futhermore, the cell body of CLP-1 adhered to the intestinal epithelium tissue of swine and Caco-2 cell. CLP-1 was examined on cell immune system modulating activity in vitro. The whole cell and cell culture supernatant was increasing of interferon-β activity. And then, CLP-1 increased prevention effect by Salmonella enteritidis infection in SPF chickens. And we determined similar result in pigs.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess the correlation relationship between personal exposure and urinary hippuric acid in biological monitoring for airborne toluene in an industrial complex and in general environments. Methods: Personal exposure to toluene and its metabolite, hippuric acid, in urine were simultaneously measured in occupational environments area near an industrial complex and in general environments. The study subjects were divided into three types: 137 workers who use organic solvents in the workplace, 210 residents living near a dyeing industrial complex, and 379 residents living in general environments. The toluene exposures of workers and residents were measured by a passive sampler for four days. The urine of participants was sampled when the passive samplers of personal exposure were collected. Results: The toluene and hippuric acid concentrations of workers were the highest, followed by the concentrations of residents living near a dyeing industrial complex and residents living in general environments. The coefficient of correlation between the concentrations of toluene and hippuric acid among workers was 0.749 (p<0.01) in the workplace. On the contrary, correlations between the concentrations of toluene and hippuric acid among residents living near a dyeing industrial complex and residents living in general environments were all not significant. The relationship between the concentrations of hippuric acid and toluene in three types could be described by the exponential growth model. Conclusions: This study analyzed the relationships between toluene exposure and the concentrations of hippuric acid in urine in high, middle, and low exposure environments, and could be described by the exponential growth model.
Orbital and spin magnetic moments in strain-relaxed SrRuO3 (111)/SrTiO3 thin films

In this study, we investigate the relation between magnetic moment and strain relaxation SrRuO3 (SRO) thin flm on SrTiO3 substrate. Epitaxially strained SRO thin flms are grown on SrTiO3 substrates with (111) orientation, enabling the examination of the magnetic properties via X-ray magnetic circular dichroism spectroscopy (XMCD) at Ru M2,3-edges. The analysis of the XMCD results using sum rules reveals an increase in the magnetic orbital moment as the thickness of the SRO flm increases. These fndings shed light on the magnetic behavior of SRO thin flms under strain relaxation by increasing thickness and contribute to understanding of the interplay between strain and magnetic properties in oxide thin flms.

<P>A strong relaxation mode was observed in the gigahertz frequency window in the paraelectric phase of Ba<SUB>0.80</SUB>Ca<SUB>0.20</SUB>TiO<SUB>3</SUB> single crystals by using Brillouin light scattering. The appearance and growth of this relaxation mode were accompanied by substantial softening of the longitudinal acoustic mode as well as a remarkable increase in the hypersonic damping. Similar to BaTiO<SUB>3</SUB>, the temperature dependence of the relaxation time of Ba<SUB>0.80</SUB>Ca<SUB>0.20</SUB>TiO<SUB>3</SUB> displayed a slowing-down behavior near the Curie temperature, indicating the order–disorder nature of the paraelectric–ferroelectric phase transition in this substance. The dynamics of precursor polar clusters observed in this work was discussed in relation with recent theoretical studies and found to be consistent with their predictions. </P>

<P>BACKGROUND: Epstein-Barr virus-associated gastric carcinoma (EBV-GC) has been characterized as a special gastric cancer subset. Lifestyle and other major factors that may contribute to EBV-GC and non-EBV-GC were investigated here. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 247 patients with gastric cancer were interviewed, clinicopathological information was retrieved, and in situ hybridization was performed for EBV-encoded small RNAs. RESULTS: There were 18 EBV-GC (male:female=17:1) and 229 non-EBV-GC patients (male:female=161:68). A history of previous gastric ulcer was associated with EBV-GC, whereas frequent and heavy alcohol drinking was related to non-EBV-GC. Additionally, skipping breakfast was correlated with EBV-GC in male patients. Other factors, such as body mass index, history of gastritis, Helicobacter pylori infection, ABO blood type, family history of gastric cancer, education level, marital status, occupation, family status, and dietary factors, showed no significant differences between EBV-GC and non-EBV-GC. CONCLUSION: A history of gastric ulcer, reflecting chemical injury to the stomach mucosa, appears to contribute to development of EBV-GC. Alcohol drinking was more related to non-EBV-GC than EBV-GC.</P>
