        The purpose of this study is to establish the handicapped provision on service centers. Because of the architectural barriers on existing welfare facilities, the disabled elderly people have to be restricted or inconvenienced in their of such buildings. For the establishment of physical environmental criteria for the handicapped, focus to present the architectural standards and recommendations considering to the handicapped. Eventually aim to equip the architectural environment and provided guide for designing of welfare facilities.

      • 시판 탁주의 품질과 휘발성 향기 성분

        시판품인 살균하지 않은 탁주 2종(탁주 A, B)과 살균한 탁주 2종(탁주 C, D)에 대찬 알코올와 향기 성분 등을 분석한 과는 다음과 같다. 탁주 A와B의 ethanol 농도는 각각 7.5, 6.5%로서 주세법 규정 농도인 6~8%에 충족 되지만 탁주 B와 C는 각각 5.0, 4.8%로서 약 1% 정도 미달되었다. 총산은 0.27~0.42%로서 주세법에서 0.5% 이하의 규정한 농도에 적합 하였으나 아미노태 질소 함량(0.38~0.56%), 총당 함량(2.35~3.42%) 그리고 고형분 함량(3.25~12.20%)은 비교적 낮았다. 미량 알코올은 17종이 검출되었으며 이중에서 fuse1 oil성분인 3-methyl-1-butanol(1.495~2.595), 2-phenyl ethanol(1.032~l.923), 2-methyl-1-propanol(0.081~0.151), 2,3-butanediol(0.005~0.015) 등의 면적 비을이 높게 검출 되었다. 유기산은 acetic acid(0.052~0.146) 와 ethyl benzoic acid(0.071~0.140)의 면적 비율이 높게 나타났으며 탁주 B와 D 에서는 10종의 유기산이 검출되였으나 탁주 A에서는 8종, 탁주 C에서는 7종이 검출되었다. Ester는 총 20종이 검출 되었으며 butanoic acid, ethyl ester(0.005~0.299), acetic acid, ethyl ester(0.002~0.072), methyl phenidate(0.025~0.070)가 높은 면적 비을로 검출되였다. 그외에 4-hydroxy-3-hexanone, butyrolactone methylthio propanone과 같은 carbonyl 화합물과 N-methyl octyl amine과 같은 amine류도 미량 검출 되였다. Two kinds of unsterilized market takju(takju A, B) and two kinds of sterilized market takju(takju C, D) were analyzed for their conponents and the results were as follows. According to the Liquor Tax Law the alcohol contents of market takju are allowed in the range of 6 to 8% and the total acid contents are provided under 0.5%. And the alcohol contents of takju A and B were 7.5 and 6.5%, respectively which were satisfied to the Law but the alcohol contents of takju B and C were 5.0 and 4.8% respectively which were less than about 1% to the Law. The total acid contents of takju were in the range of 0.27 to 0.42% which were proper concentrations to the Law. The amino nitrogen contents(0.38~0.56%), the total sugar contents(2.35~3.42%) and the extract contents(3.25~12.20%) were detected relatively low. Seventeen kinds of alcohols were detected in four kinds of takju and 3-methy-1-butanol(1.495-2.595), 2-phenyl ethanol(1.032~1.923), methyl-1-propanol(0.081~0.151) and 2, 3-butanediol(0.005~0.015) were detected in higher percentages of peak area than other alcohols. Ten kinds of organic acids were detected in takju B and D restectively but in takju A eight kinds and in takju C seven kinds of organic aicds were detected. Among these acids acetic acid(0.052~0.146) and ethyl benzoic acid(0.071~0.140) were detected in higher percentages of peak area than other organic acids in the four kinds of takju. Total twenty kinds of esters were decteted in the four kinds of takju and butanoic acid, ethyl ester(0.005~0.299), acetic acid, ethyl ester(0.002~0.072) and methyl phenidate(0.025~0.070) were detected in higher percentages of peak area than other esters in the four kinds of takju. Besides, minor amounts of carbonyl compounds such as 4-hydroxy-3-hexanone, butyrolactone, 3-methyl thio-1-propanone and an amine compound such as N-methyl octyl amine were also detected in takju.

        Changes in Sensitization Rate to Weed Allergens in Children with Increased Weeds Pollen Counts in Seoul Metropolitan Area

        <P>The prevalence of allergic diseases in children has increased for several decades. We evaluated the correlation between pollen count of weeds and their sensitization rate in Seoul, 1997-2009. Airborne particles carrying allergens were collected daily from 3 stations around Seoul. Skin prick tests to pollen were performed on children with allergic diseases. Ragweed pollen gradually increased between 1999 and 2005, decreased after 2005 and plateaued until 2009 (peak counts, 67 in 2003, 145 in 2005 and 83 grains/m<SUP>3</SUP>/day in 2007). Japanese hop pollen increased between 2002 and 2009 (peak counts, 212 in 2006 and 492 grains/m<SUP>3</SUP>/day in 2009). Sensitization rates to weed pollen, especially ragweed and Japanese hop in children with allergic diseases, increased annually (ragweed, 2.2% in 2000 and 2.8% in 2002; Japanese hop, 1.4% in 2000 and 1.9% in 2002). The age for sensitization to pollen gradually became younger since 2000 (4 to 6 yr of age, 3.5% in 1997 and 6.2% in 2009; 7 to 9 yr of age, 4.2% in 1997 and 6.4% in 2009). In conclusion, sensitization rates for weed pollens increase in Korean children given increasing pollen counts of ragweed and Japanese hop.</P>

        FGF-2 inhibits TNF-α mediated apoptosis through up-regulation of Bcl2-A1 and Bcl-xL in ATDC5 cells

        FGF-2 is involved in cell survival, proliferation, apoptosis, and angiogenesis in a wide variety of cells. FRGRs, PI3K and MAP kinases are well known mediators of FGF signaling. Despite its known roles during many developmental processes, including osteogenesis, there are few known targets of FGF-2. In the present study, we identified Bcl2-A1 and Bcl-xL as two prominent targets involved in promoting cell survival. Pretreatment of ATDC5 cells with FGF-2 increased cell survival, while siRNAs specific for Bcl2-A1 and Bcl-xL compromised the anti- apoptotic effect of FGF-2, sensitized the cells to apoptosis triggered by TNF-α. Chemical inhibition of FGFR, NFkB, and PI3K activity by PD173074, pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate, and LY294002 respectively abrogated the FGF-2-mediated induction of Bcl2-A1 and Bcl-xL expression. Taken together, our data demonstrate that a subset of Bcl2 family proteins are the targets of FGF-2 signaling that promotes the survival of ATDC5 cells. [BMB reports 2012; 45(5): 287-292]

      • Assessment of differentiation aspects by the morphological classification of embryoid bodies derived from human embryonic stem cells.

        <P>In general, the formation of embryoid bodies (EBs) is a commonly known method for initial induction of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) into their derivatives in vitro. Despite the ability of EBs to mimic developmental processing, the specification and classifications of EBs are not yet well known. Because EBs show various differentiation potentials depending on the size and morphology of the aggregated cells, specification is difficult to attain. Here, we sought to classify the differentiation potentials of EBs by morphologies to enable one to control the differentiation of specific lineages from hESCs with high efficiency. To induce the differentiation of EB formation, we established floating cultures of undifferentiated hESCs in Petri dishes with hESC medium lacking basic fibroblast growth factor. Cells first aggregated into balls; 10 days after suspension culture, some different types of EB morphology were present, which we classified as cystic-, bright cavity-, and dark cavity-type EBs. Next, we analyzed the characteristics of each type of EB for its capacity to differentiate into the 3 germ layers via multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real-time PCR, and immunocytochemistry. Our results indicated that most cells within the cystic EBs were composed of endoderm lineage populations, and both of the cavity EB types were well organized with 3 germ-layer cells. However, the differentiation capacity of the bright cavity EBs was faster than that of the dark cavity EBs. Thus, the bright cavity EBs in this study, which showed equal differentiation tendencies compared with other types of EBs, may serve as the standard for in vitro engineering of EBs. These results indicate that the classification of EB morphologies allows the estimation of the differentiation status of the EBs and may allow the delineation of subsets of conditions necessary for EBs to differentiate into specific cell types.</P>

      • Analysis of monitoring Road-kill in Odaesan National Park

        We surveyed mammalian roadkill at the National Route 6 (Jin-gogae to Songcheon, 18㎞) and a local road 446 (Odaesan National Park office to Sangwon-temple, 12㎞) in Odaesan National Park. Data of the surveys were analyzed by year, month, and species. Roadkills of 226 individuals were found at the survey areas. Of them, the road-killed 131 mammal individuals, 44 bird individuals, 40 reptile individual and 11 amphibian individuals were found during the survey period. High ratio of the road-kills was observed in mammals than the other animals. Among mammalian species, high ratio of the road-kills was observed in squirrels. There were road-kills of three endangered species, containing otters, yellow-throated marten and leopard cats. According to the analyses of annual road-kills, roadkills of 104 cases were occurred and highly frequent in 2014, following by roadkills of 81 cases in 2015, and then those of 41 cases in 2016. Most ases of the roadkills occurred in summer (June to September). The results will contribute to establishing management for reduction of roadkill in Odaesan National Park.

      • 이공계 진로의식 신장을 위한 첨단농업기술 STEAM 프로그램의 개발

        본 연구는 각종 보고서 및 선행 연구를 통해 미래 유망 직업(군)으로 첨단농업기술을 선정한 뒤 첨단농업기술 분야에 근무하고 있는 실무자와 전문가, 융합인재교육(STEAM)과 관련된 각 분야의 전문가, 교육전문가, 현장 교사들이 함께 연구를 진행하여 첨단농업기술 STEAM 프로그램을 개발하였으며, 첨단농업기술자에게 요구되는 인성 요소를 추출하여 교육현장과 연결시킴으로써 실제적 진로 교육이 가능하도록 하고자 하였다. 그 후 초등학교 3학년부터 고등학교 3학년까지, 총 940명을 대상으로 짧게는 약 1개월 정도부터 길게는 약 3개월에 걸쳐 프로그램을 적용한 뒤 피드백을 받아 정교화하는 과정을 거쳤다. 본 연구를 통해 개발한 프로그램은 교사들의 공감 및 프로그램 운영에 필요한 금전적 지원 등 현재로서는 제한점이 있는 것이 사실이다. 그러나 학생들이 사회 변화와 직업의 생성 및 소멸간의 관계를 파악하는 안목을 높여주고, 과학기술분야의 최신 이슈를 접하며 직접 미래 유망 직업의 직무를 체험함으로써 과학기술분야의 진로에 대한 흥미와 동기를 유발할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. In this study, high-tech agricultural technology was selected as a future promising career (cluster) from previous literature. STEAM program on high-tech agricultural technology was developed from experts and practitioners on advanced agricultural technology, experts on convergence education (STEAM) and general education, and teachers. In addition, authentical career education training was planned by extracting personality elements for high-tech agricultural technicians. The program was applied during one to three months and modified from the feedback of 940 students (3rd to 12th grade). The program has limitations such as the lack of understanding of teachers and financial support. However, it gives insights on students understanding of the relationship between the change of society and the creation and destruction of jobs. Futhermore, it is expected to foster students interest and motivation for careers on the science and technology fields by knowing new issues on science and technology and experiencing the work of future promising jobs.
