Recently interest of hybrid and electric vehicles is rising rapidly due to exhaust control. The lithium ion rechargeable battery has several advantages such as high energy density, no memory effect and light weight therefore the lithium ion rechargeable battery is used at hybrid and electric vehicles. In this study the electrolyte for the lithium ion rechargeable battery used in low temperature was developed and tested. EC, DMC, EMC were chosen as a solvent for the electrolyte and mix proportion was 1:1:1. LiPF? (1.1 mole with 1.0~1.5wt% PC) was chosen as a lithium salt. Experiments showed that the lithium ion rechargeable battery using the developed electrolyte kept 99% capacity of battery in low temperature(-35℃).
Novel Fire Detection Device for Robotic Fire Fighting

This paper presents a novel fire detection device in the highly complicated urban environment, such as an office building, supermarket, school, etc. A robot for fire detecting and/or search and rescue needs to move fast while searching wide area. For this, we had developed an thermal image camera module which is capable of selectively acquiring very large field of view (FOV) - panoramic view - images or narrow field of view images from a single viewpoint, at video rates. An image processing and device controlling algorithm to detect a fire fastly and accurately was developed also. The developed device was tested in the indoor environments and the feasibility of the device was evaluated. We expect that the application of the proposed device is not limited to fire fighting. Its application will include a military, security and scientific field. For the further works, we will improve the performance of the detection algorithm in the proposed device and test it using a mobile platform in a realistic environment.

In this study, two types of the PEMFC stacks were chosen. Those are laminated stack and non-laminated series stack. Not only the performance of the two types of the combinations of the PEMFC stack but also the performance of component unit cells was measured on different flow rate of reaction gases each other. As the result, the performance of a laminated stack was higher than the performance of non-laminated stacks because of difference of electric resistance caused connecting cells.

The performance of PEMFC is known to be influenced by different operating conditions such as temperature, pressure, and humidification of the reactant gases. Especially, the humidification is essential for performance enhancement of the PEMFC because proton conductivity depends on hydration of the membrane. In this study, the experiment was conducted about the influence of humidification factors, such as water level, channel length and water temperature by using of the bubble and the membrane humidifier. As the results, it was difficult to control the exact humidity by adjusting humidification factors. But, it was resolved by exact humidity control through humidifier valve on/off control.

This study focuses on the path planning problem for unmanned combat vehicles (UCVs), where the goal is to find a viable path from the starting point to the destination while avoiding collisions with moving obstacles, such as enemy forces. The objective is to minimize the overall cost, which encompasses factors like travel distance, geographical difficulty, and the risk posed by enemy forces. To address this challenge, we have proposed a heuristic algorithm based on D* Lite. This modified algorithm considers not only travel distance but also other military-relevant costs, such as travel difficulty and risk. It generates a path that navigates around both fixed unknown obstacles and dynamically moving obstacles (enemy forces) that change positions over time. To assess the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm, we conducted comprehensive experiments, comparing and analyzing its performance in terms of average pathfinding success rate, average number of turns, and average execution time. Notably, we examined how the algorithm performs under two UCV path search strategies and two obstacle movement strategies. Our findings shed light on the potential of our approach in real-world UCV path planning scenarios.

In order to study the bubble growth of hydrogen and oxygen at a mesh type separator, the visualization experiment was performed by using of a transparent alkaline electrolysis stack. As a result, If the small size bubbles of hydrogen and oxygen don"t bind to the geometric shape as surface of the separator, then these discharge into the exit. But if the small size bubbles bind to the geometric shape, then these grow up a big bubble until these get larger buoyancy than external force.
