        This thesis present implementation of a WBI system for creativity development of the elementary school student in the training activity through web. A proposed system consists of made up a learner module and a manager module. The learner module helps the training activity for developing fluency, flexibility and originality, and the manager module helps and appraises the training activity of the learner. This WBI system is the embodiment of already established creativity development program on th Web. It is anticipated that this system is the model applying the advantage of the Internet to the education and training field in effectiveness.

      • 장기입원환자의 특성과 재원일수 관리방안

        Objective: Main objective of this paper is to examine the characteristics of long-term inpatients and reasons for long hospitalization, and, based on the experience of long-term inpatients management task force, to explore some ideas to reduce the length of stay which has become critical for effective hospital management. Methods: A survey was conducted through structured questionnaire for 132 inpatients who had stayed for 30 days or more in a university hospital located in Busan, Korea. Survey items included general characteristics of the inpatients and various reasons for long stay. Also, results of 5-month operation of the long-term inpatients management task force were analyzed. Results: Frequency distribution of length of stay showed that 46.2% of the inpatients stayed for 30 to 59 days, 34.1% 60 to 89 days, and 19.7% 90 days or more. As for the reasons for long stay, the most frequent response was 'not sufficiently cured'(82.6%), followed by 'worried about worsening after discharge'(56.9%), 'still receiving physical therapy'(47.7%), 'no care-giver at home'(46.3%), 'inconvenient to visit hospital as outpatient after discharge'(41.6%), 'not completely paid hospital fee'(41.0%), 'compensation still pending'(31.8%), and 'no proper facilities at home'(18.2%). Response scores of several reasons('inconvenient to visit hospital as outpatient after discharge'; 'still receiving physical therapy'; 'no proper facilities at home'; 'not completely paid hospital fee'; 'compensation still pending') were statistically different among the respondents that were different in income, type of insurance payment, amount of copayment, and necessity of care in daily life. Performance evaluation of the long-term inpatients management task force revealed that admission rate of long-term inpatients and average length of stay decreased from 20.0% and 14.4 days to 16.3% and 11.8 days, respectively, after the operation of the task force.

        포도종실 추출물이 Methylcellulose 필름 성질에 미치는 영향

        The film with methylcellulose(MC) and grape seed extract(GSE) were prepared by casting their aqueous solution at 80℃ and drying at 23℃ for 48 hrs. Effect of grape seed extract(GSE) on the barrier permeabilities and the thermomechanical property of methylcellulose(MC) film was studied. The barrier permeabilities and the thermomechanical property of MC film containing various contents of GSE were evaluated in terms of water vapor, oxygen permeabilities, and dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA). The rate of water vapor permeability of MC film decreased with GSE contnets in the MC films. Also, the rate of oxygen permeability also decreased with GSE contents indicating higher oxygen barrier property of MC film. The results showed that GSE had a good miscibility with MC and acted as a plasticizer for MC film resuling in lowering the glass transition temperature of the film.

      • 실내외 다환방향족탄화수소(PAHs)의 농도조사에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to measure indoor and outdoor concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in office building in Seoul City. Fine (<2.5μm) and coarse (25>μm) particle samples were collected by PM-10 dichotomous sampler from January to Octerber, 1993 Respirable particulates sampling was taken place both inside and outside the office building The samples collected for 12-hour sampling schedule from 8 AM to 8 PM and from 8 PM to 8 AM were analyzed for PAHs. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV detector (254nm) was used to determine twelve compounds of PAHs. The mean concentrations of indoor and outdoor respirable particulates were 768 μg/㎥ and 1099 μg/㎥. The mean concentrations of acenaphthylene at indoor and outdoor site were significantly higher than any other compounds, respectively. The mean concentrations of PAHs during daytime were higher than those level of where the mean concentrations of fine particle of PAHs were higher than those level of coarse particles. The mean outdoor concentrations of NAP, ACL, PHE, PY, BAA, BKF, BAP were highest in January, while the mean outdoor concentrations of AN, FLUR, CHRY, BBF, DAHA were highest in July and August

        Ectopic ureteral orifice presents predominantly in young girls with duplicated kidneys and ureters, and mostly drains from ectopic ureters were associated with non-duplicated upper urinary systems and it is called a single system ectopic ureter. It is frequently associated with renal dysplasia or agenesis and ureterocele. Compared with ectopic ureter draining from the duplicated kidney, the diagnosis of single system ectopic ureter is often delayed because the ectopic ureter may be associated with a single small dysplastic, poorly functioning kidney. We report a case of single system ectopic ureter associated with dysplastic and poorly functioning kidney.

        정신재활 치료가 정신분열병 환자의 재발율, 입원횟수, 입원일수 그리고 치료 경비에 미치는 효과 : 2년 추적조사 연구

        목 적 : 사회기술훈련, 환자교육, 가족교육, 집단치료, 예술치료, 작업치료와 같은 포괄적인 정신재활 치료를 약물치료와 병행할 경우 약물치료만 시행할 때에 비해 정신분열병 환자의 재발율, 입원횟수, 입원일수, 직접 치료경비 등에 어떤 효과가 있는 지를 알아보기 위함이다. 연구방법 : 1993년 9월부터 1995년 2월까지 양산 신경정신병원의 폐쇄병동에서 퇴원한 20∼35세 사이의 정신분열병 환자 173명을 대상으로 46명에게는 6개월동안 정신재활 치료를 시행하였고 127명에게는 통상적인 외래치료만 시행한 후 연구시작 시점을 포함하여 2년동안 양군에 속한 환자들을 대상으로 재발율, 입원횟수, 입원일수, 직접 치료경비 등을 1년 단위로 추적 조사하였으며, 연구시작 시점을 기준으로 전과 후의 매년 평균 입원횟수, 입원일수, 직접 치료경비도 서로 비교하였다. 결 과 : 정신재활 치료를 약물치료와 병행할 경우 약물치료만 시행할 때에 비해 재발율, 입원횟수, 입원일수, 직접 치료비용이 현저히 감소되었다. 그리고 정신재활 치료를 받은 군에서는 치료 전에 비해 치료 후에 재발율, 입원횟수, 입원일수, 직접 치료비용이 유의하게 감소하였지만 통상적인 외래치료만 받은 군에서는 치료 전과 후간에 유의한 변화를 보이지 않았다. 결 론 : 정신분열병 환자들에게 정신재활 치료를 약물치료와 병행할 경우 약물치료만 시행할 때에 비해 환자의 임상적 경과를 호전시킬 뿐 아니라 가족의 경제적 부담도 줄일 수 있다. Objective : We evaluated the clinical efficacy of a comprehensive psychiatric rehabilitation of schizophrenia, including family psychoeducation, patient education, social skills training, group psychotherapy, art therapy, and occupational therapy. Method : From September 1993 to February 1995, 173 chronic schizophrenics who met DSM-IV criteria and were discharged from a locked ward were assigned into the psychiatric rehabilitation service group(psychiatric rehabilitation group, n=46) or the customary out-patient service group(out-patient group, n=127) prospectively, but not randomly. Assignment was based on preferences of patients and their relatives, Each subject included in the psychiatric rehabilitation group received twice weekly patient education, social skills training, family psychoeducation, group psychotherapy, art therapy, occupational therapy and maintenance chemotherapy during a 6-month period. Those in the out-patient group received individual supportive psychotherapy and maintenance chemotherapy according to their clinical needs for 10-20 minutes once per week. After entry into the study, all subjects were assessed for the number of readmission, days of hospitalization, and the direct treatment costs through the first and second year of follow-ups. These outcome variables were also compared pre-and post-2 years at the time point of entry into the study. Aftercare chemotherapy on a weekly to monthly basis continued for the remainder of the two year follow-up period. Results : With regard to the mean number of hospital admissions per year, the mean days of hospitalization per year, and the direct treatment costs per year, the psychiatric rehabilitation group had significantly decreased all clinical outcomes 2 years after compared with before receiving psychiatric rehabilitation. But there were no significant differences in the all clinical outcomes between before and after study intake in the out-patient group. For the number of relapse regardless of drug compliance, 4 patients(9%) during first year and 14 patients(30%) during second year were relapsed in the 46 subjects of the psychiatric rehabilitation group. In contrast, 75 patients(59%) during first year and 90 patients (71%) during second year relapsed in the out-patient group. When considering the effect of drug noncompliance to relapse, 4(9%) and 14 patients(30%) were relapsed while on medication respectively during the first and second year in the 46 of the psychiatric rehabilitation group, vs. 27(34%) of 79 patients on medication during the first year and 31(46%) of 68 patients on medication during the second year were relapsed in the out-patient group. Conclusions : These results indicate that the comprehensive psychiatric rehabilitation can be useful therapeutic intervention both to improve the clinical outcomes of schizophrenic patients and to reduce the economical burden of their relatives.

        Electrocatalytic activity of nanoporous Pd and Pt: effect of structural features

        <P>The electrocatalytic activities of nanoporous palladium (npPd) and platinum (npPt) for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) under alkaline conditions and hydrogen peroxide electrochemical reactions under neutral conditions were examined. npPd and npPt were prepared by the electrochemical deposition of each metal from the corresponding metal precursor in the presence of reverse micelles of Triton X-100, directing highly porous microstructures. The nanoporous catalysts showed excellent electrocatalytic activity for both the ORR and hydrogen peroxide electrochemical oxidation/reduction due to the increased active surface area. In particular, the npPd exhibited superior ORR activity (<I>i.e.</I>, more positive onset and half-wave potentials, higher current density and greater number of electrons transferred) despite the smaller roughness factor than the npPt and commercial Pt. The catalytic activity for the hydrogen peroxide electrochemical reactions was also higher while using npPd (<I>i.e.</I>, faster electrode reaction kinetics, increased current densities, <I>etc.</I>) compared to npPt. The higher catalytic activity of npPd than that of npPt suggests an advantage of the unique npPd structure, composed of nano- as well as micro-porosity, in facilitating mass transport through the porous metal layer. The npPd exhibited amperometric current responses, induced by the oxidation as well as reduction of hydrogen peroxide, linearly proportional to the hydrogen peroxide concentration with a rapid response time (<∼2 s), high sensitivity, and low detection limit (<1.8 μM).</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>Nanoporous palladium possessing unique nanostructural features exhibits superior electrocatalytic activity toward oxygen reduction reaction surpassing the activity of platinum catalyst. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c2cp23429g'> </P>

        <P>Applying nanoscale device fabrications toward biomolecules,ultrasensitive, selective, robust, and reliable chemical or biologicalmicrosensors have been one of the most fascinating research directionsin our life science. Here we introduce hierarchically driven iridiumdioxide (IrO<SUB>2</SUB>) nanowires directly on a platinum (Pt) microwire,which allows a simple fabrication of the amperometric sensor and showsa favorable electronic property desired for sensing of hydrogen peroxide(H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>) and dihydronicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH) without the aid of enzymes.       • Carbon-Supported Palladium Sub-Nanometer Particle Catalyst for Oxygen Reduction Reaction in Acid Media

        <P>Pd nanoparticles (Pd NPs) on a carbon support (Pd/C) were synthesized in ethylene glycol containing poly(1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (PVP) at various PVP/Pd precursor ratios. The sizes of the Pd NPs were controlled by varying the PVP concentration. Smaller Pd NPs were obtained at higher PVP concentrations. Indeed, the mean sizes of the Pd NPs with PVP/Pd precursor ratios of 0, 40, and 80 (Pd/C-0, -40, and -80) were 2.8 (±1.2), 1.5 (±0.3), and 0.8 (±0.3) nm, respectively, by TEM analysis. The electrocatalytic activities of the Pd/C catalysts toward the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) were examined in a 0.1 M HClO<SUB>4</SUB> solution using rotating disk electrode voltammetry. The smaller Pd NPs exhibited more efficient ORR properties, such as a more positive ORR onset potential (or half-wave potential, <I>E</I><SUB>1/2</SUB>) and increased number of electrons (<I>n</I>) transferred in the ORR. In particular, the Pd/C-80 catalyst with a lower metal content (7.9 wt % Pd) showed desirable ORR performance in terms of the onset potential, <I>n</I> value, mass activity, and methanol tolerance.</P>

      • Applications of Porous Pt‐Filled Micropore Electrode: Direct Amperometric Glucose Detection and Potentiometric pH Sensing

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>This paper reports the utilization of a micropore electrode as platform for the development of a nonenzymatic glucose microsensor. To facilitate direct glucose oxidation, a highly porous Pt (pPt) layer was deposited electrochemically on the Pt disk base in the pore. Compared to a pPt deposited planar Pt disk electrode, the higher sensitivity and selectivity of the pPt deposited micropore electrode could not only be attributed to the increased electrode roughness, but also to the small pore opening functioning as an efficient mass‐transport resistance to the interfering species. The prepared pPt‐micropore electrode also showed improved potentiometric responses to pH changes.</P>
