Novel mono-and bi-functional phosphonium salts deriving from toxic phosphine off-gas as efficient catalysts for chemical fixation of CO2

Ju-Ping Dong,Chen Zhao,Jin-Jun Qiu,Cheng-Mei Liu 한국공업화학회 2020 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.90 No.-

Utilizing phosphine (PH3) tail gas as starting feedstock, a series of novel mono-and bifucntionalphosphonium compounds (P+(CH2CH2CN)3RX , X= Br, I) was prepaed by a sustainable preparation route. The newly prepared phosphonium halides show high thermal stability and their degradationtemperature are far higher than that of CO2 chemicalfixation. The mono-fucntional phosphoniumsalts combinate with ZnBr2 to form an efficient Lewis acid/base type catalytic system for CO2 chemicalfixation and the bifucntional phosphonium salts alone shows same catalytic effects. The effects oftemperature, CO2 pressure, composition of the catalytic system on coupling reaction of CO2 withepoxides are investigated to evaluate the catalytic performance. The results illustrate that 96.7% cyclicCarbonate yield can be obtained in presence of ZnBr2/P+(CH2CH2CN)3C4H9Br (molar ratio = 1:10) under120 C, 1.5MPa of CO2 pressure in solvent-free condition, menawhile bifuntional phiospohonium salt Br-P+(CH2CH2CN)3C2H4COOH alone shows better catalytic perofromance.

QTLDissection of Agronomic and Domestication Traits Using Introgression Lines Carrying Wild Rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) Segments in Cultivated Rice (O. sativa L.) Background

        Ping-Rong Yuan,Hyun-Jung Kim,Qiong-Hua Chen,Hong-Guang Ju,Seung-Joon Lee,Shi-Dong Ji,안상낙 한국작물학회 2009 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.12 No.4

The nearly isogenic nature of the introgression lines (ILs) provides a relative advantage over other segregating populations in therapid implementation of pyramiding approach through crosses and marker analysis. A set of 126 ILs carrying various introgressedsegments from a presumed wild progenitor, Oryza rufipogon Griff. Acc. W1944 in the background of an elite Korea japonica cultivar(O. sativa L.), Hwayeongbyeo, was constructed using the marker assisted selection (MAS) technique combined with repeatedbackcrosses. The 126 ILs have different W1944 segments on each chromosome, with 100% coverage of wild segments on chromosome1, while for chromosome 10, the coverage was only 33.3%. The mean number of homozygous and heterozygous donor segmentswere 3 (ranging from 0 to 7) and 4.7 (ranging from 1 to 14.5), respectively, and 31.6% of introgressed segments had sizes ofless than 10.5 cM. A total of 41 quantitative trait loci (QTLs) and two loci associated with pericarp coloration were identified. Thenumber of QTLs per trait ranged from 2 to 6. Phenotypic variance associated with each QTL varied from 9.1 to 52.2%, with an averageof 17.1%. For 11 (26.8%) of the QTLs detected in this study, the O. rufipogon-derived alleles contributed the desired agronomiceffect despite the overall inferior characteristics of the wild phenotype. Favorable alleles from the O. rufipogon accession were identifiedfor panicle number, panicle length, days to heading, secondary branches, spikelets per panicle, and 1,000-grain weight.

Identification of Wiener Model with Discontinuous Nonlinearities using Differential Evolution

        Dong-Li Zhang,Ying-Gan Tang,Ju-Hai Ma,Xin-Ping Guan 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2013 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.11 No.3

This paper deals with the identification of Wiener models with discontinuous nonlinearities. The identification of the Wiener model is formulated as an optimization problem. Differential evolution algorithm, a powerful and robust evolutionary algorithm, is used to search the optimal parameter of the Wiener model such that the error between the output of true model and that of the identified model is minimized. The proposed method can identify the parameters of linear dynamic subsystems and static nonlinear function of the Wiener model simultaneously, and overcome the difficulty of un-availability of the intermediated signal. Two application examples verify that the proposed method can accurately estimate the parameters of the Wiener model even in a low SNR environment.

Mapping QTLs for Grain Quality Using an Introgression Line Population from a Cross between Oryza sativa and O. rufipogon

        Ping-Rong Yuan,Shi-Dong Ji,안상낙,김현정,Qiong-Hua Chen,Hong-Guang Ju 한국작물학회 2010 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.13 No.4

Quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with four milling recovery properties, two chemical properties, six paste properties of grain, and six textural parameters of cooked rice were identified using an introgression line (IL) population of rice developed from an interspecific cross over two years. The IL population consisted of 121 lines from a cross between wild rice (O. rufipogon Griff.) and a japonica cultivar. A total of 28 QTLs were identified for the 14 traits using inter mapping. Of these, 10 were significant over two years indicating that these QTLs are stable across years and environments. For eight (21%) of the QTLs identified, the O. rufipogonderived alleles contributed a desirable effect on amylose content, protein content, minimum viscosity, final viscosity, and consistency. Among these, pc3 for protein content and ac7 for amylose content were significant in both years and showed an R² value of 25.5and 30.9%, respectively. The markers closely associated with these useful alleles can be used to trace the inheritance of specific chromosome segments in the IL population and also offer a starting point for map-based cloning of genes underlying these traits.

Features Extraction and Mechanism Analysis of Partial Discharge Development under Protrusion Defect

Dong, Yu-Lin,Tang, Ju,Zeng, Fu-Ping,Liu, Min The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 2015 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.10 No.1

In order to study the development of partial discharge (PD) under typical protrusion defects in gas-insulated switchgear, we applied step voltages on the defect and obtained the ${\varphi}-u$ and ${\varphi}-n$ spectrograms of ultra-high frequency (UHF) PD signals in various PD stages. Furthermore, we extracted seven kinds of features to characterize the degree of deterioration of insulation and analyzed their values, variation trends, and change rates. These characteristics were inconsistent with the development of PD. Hence, the differences of these features could describe the severity of PD. In addition, these characteristics could provide integrated characteristics regarding PD development and improve the reliability of PD severity assessment because these characteristics were extracted from different angles. To explain the variation laws of these seven kinds of parameters, we analyzed the relevant physical mechanism by considering the microphysical process of PD formation and development as well as the distortion effect generated by the space charges on the initial field. The relevant physical mechanism effectively allocated PD severity among these features for assessment, and the effectiveness and reliability of using these features to assess PD severity were proved by testing a large number of PD samples.

Magnetic cluster-encapsulated polymer dimers with controlled surface property

Da In Kim,김혜지,Ju Hyang Park,Ki Hak Kim,Hosu Kang,Jongbok Kim,Ping Lu,Hyungju Ahn,Dong Choon Hyun 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.105 No.-

This work reports the fabrication of magnetic polymer dimers with controlled surface anisotropy. Thefabrication process involves the preparation of magnetite (Fe3O4) magnetic clusters with strong magnetism, followed by their surface modification, dispersion polymerization while using them as seeds, multilayer shell formation via layer-by-layer deposition, and polymer core swelling. The interplaybetween the swelling and multilayer shells generates pressure inside the multilayer-deposited, magneticpolystyrene (PS) spheres, forming structurally anisotropic dimers with single PS protrusions anchored onthe multilayer surfaces within minutes. The use of titania precursor and different swelling agents, alongwith the change in the composition of the multilayer shell, enables the introduction of different surfaceanisotropies, such as the surface-charge anisotropy, anisotropic hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity, andmaterial composition anisotropy, to the dimers. The strong magnetic response of the dimers, attributedto the magnetic cluster seeds, in combination with the surface-charge and material composition anisotropiesallows a rapid magnetic recovery and an excellent reusability, enabling their application to 20-cycled reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) and methylene blue (MB) without loss of catalytic activity. Furthermore, the anisotropic hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity makes the dimers potentially useful as solidsurfactant to stabilize immiscible oil–water mixture.
