<P>Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) can be employed to investigate brain activities associated with regional changes of the oxy- and deoxyhemoglobin concentration by measuring the absorption of near-infrared light through the intact skull. NIRS is regarded as a promising neuroimaging modality thanks to its excellent temporal resolution and flexibility for routine monitoring. Recently, the general linear model (GLM), which is a standard method for functional MRI (fMRI) analysis, has been employed for quantitative analysis of NIRS data. However, the GLM often fails in NIRS when there exists an unknown global trend due to breathing, cardiac, vasomotion, or other experimental errors. We propose a wavelet minimum description length (Wavelet-MDL) detrending algorithm to overcome this problem. Specifically, the wavelet transform is applied to decompose NIRS measurements into global trends, hemodynamic signals, and uncorrelated noise components at distinct scales. The minimum description length (MDL) principle plays an important role in preventing over- or underfitting and facilitates optimal model order selection for the global trend estimate. Experimental results demonstrate that the new detrending algorithm outperforms the conventional approaches.</P>
A Study of the Effects on Applying Test Design to Information Communication Authority Module

Information communication authority module software contains various functions and services. A software test is the only acceptance test step. Recently, however, all development steps have become important. In particular, the software acceptance step is very high, and a study of the effective use of limited time and resources on acceptance step is needed. This study examined the efficiency of the Test Design Technique for Software Test. The proposed Test Design process was applied to the domain systems of info-communication and the degree of improvement was measured. This paper establishes Software Test design process Infrastructure based on the developed software.
Effect of Areca Nut on Helicobacter pylori-Induced Gastric Diseases in Mice

Areca nut (AN) chewing is a habit in many countries in Central, Southern, and Southeast Asia. It is strongly associated with the occurrence of oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal cancer as well as systemic inflammation. However, the association between AN intake and the development of gastric lesions has not yet been identified. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of AN on gastric diseases using a mouse model for Helicobacter pylori infection. We studied four groups of mice: those fed a normal diet (ND), those fed a diet containing 2.5% AN (AD), those fed ND and infected with H. pylori PMSS1 strain (ND/HP), and those fed AD and infected with H. pylori PMSS1 strain (AD/HP). Food intake and body weight were monitored weekly during the experiments. At 10 weeks, the mice were sacrificed, and the stomach weight, H. pylori colonization, and gastric inflammation were evaluated. The stomach weight had increased significantly in the ND/HP and AD/HP groups along with increases in H. pylori colonization; however, there was no significant difference between these two groups with respect to stomach weight and colonization. On histological grading, mononuclear cell infiltration was severer in the AD/HP group than in the ND/HP group. These data suggest that chronic gastric inflammation was aggravated by AN treatment in the mice with H. pyloriinduced gastric lesions. Furthermore, as previously suggested, this animal model is useful to determine the effect of potential carcinogens on gastric lesions induced by H. pylori infection.
Evaluation of the Efficacy of Zoledronic Acid and Amifostine on Radiation-induced Bone Loss in Mice

Background: This study investigated the effects of zoledronic acid (ZA) on radiation-induced bone loss in C3H/HeN mice. Materials and Methods: C3H/HeN mice were divided into sham control and three irradiated groups (3 Gy, gamma ray). The irradiated mice were treated for 12 weeks with vehicle, amifostine (intraperitoneal injection), or ZA (subcutaneous injection). Grip strength, uterus weight, and serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) levels were measured. Tibiae were analyzed using micro-computed tomography. Results and Discussion: Treatment of ZA ($100{\mu}g{\cdot}kg^{-1}{\cdot}week^{-1}$) significantly preserved trabecular bone volume, trabecular thickness, trabecular number, trabecular separation, bone mineral density of proximal tibia metaphysic, and cortical bone volume, but did not alter the uterus weight of the mice. The administration of ZA for 12 weeks lowered serum ALP and TRAP levels in irradiated mice, suggesting that ZA can reduce the bone turnover rate in mice. No differences were apparent between the amifostine-treated group and the irradiation control group. Conclusion: The results indicate that ZA can prevent radiation-induced bone loss in mice.

본 연구는 주요 시·도교육청에서 운영되고 있는 초·중 통합운영학교들에 대한 실태를 파악하여 다가오는 미래사회 변화와 정책 환경 변화에 따른 새로운 교육적 요구에 대응하기 위한 정책적 제언을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 미래사회의 저출산 고령화와 학령인구 감소는 사회 환경 및 교육 환경을 변화시키고 다양한 정책 환경변화를 야기하는데 그 중 하나가 바로 학령 인구 감소에 따른 학교 통합에 대한 부분이다. 현 통합운영학교 정책은 학생의 학습권 보장과 교육재정 배분의 문제, 학교급의 자율성 보장의 문제, 통합운영학교의 교육과정 및 교직원 운영 등 여러 가지 논란을 야기하고 있으며 교원 수급 조정, 교원 양성, 자격, 임용 제도의 정비, 학교 시설 제도 및 운영, 교육내용, 방법 및 평가 등에 다양한 제도 보완이 필요하다. 주요 시도교육청은 이러한 문제해결의 대안으로 초·중등 통합운영학교를 운영하고 있으며 분석 결과 교무실 및 행정실을 통합하거나, 학교 시설 및 물리적 공간을 통합하는 학교가 다수였다. 반면 교원의 배치 및 업무 분할은 개별 운영하는 학교가 많았다. 교육과정의 경우 교과 영역 보다는 비교과 영역, 학생 공식 행사 및 동아리 운영에서 일부 통합 운영하는 경우가 있었다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같이 초·중 통합운영학교 운영 실태 분석을 통하여 쟁점들에 대해 논의하고 현재 운영 중인 통합운영학교 실태를 파악하여 효율적 운영과 교육과정, 교직원관리, 학교 행정 및 회계 관리, 교육시설, 통합운영학교 관련 법령 및 제도 등의 현실적인 문제점과 개선방안을 제안하고 있다. The purpose of this study is to examine the present conditions of elementary and middle integrated schools operated by major city and provincial education offices and to seek policy suggestions to respond to new educational demands followed by upcoming changes of the future society and policy environments. Low birthrate and aging in the future society and a decrease in school-age population change social and educational environments and cause various changes in policy environments. Among various educational measures to respond to these problems, what matters the most is to integrate schools due to a decrease in school-age population, especially that of children, and to provide institutional plans for this. The current policy of integrated schools is causing several controversies on the issue of guaranteeing students’ right to study, distribution of education finance, the autonomy at the school level, the curriculum of integrated schools and the operation of teachers. It needs various system supplements on supply and demand adjustment, training teachers, qualifications, organization of teacher certification examination, system and operation of school facilities, educational contents, methods, and evaluation. As an alternative to this problem-solving, major city and provincial education offices are operating elementary and middle integrated schools, which according to the analysis, was mostly operated by integrating teaching and administrative offices or school facilities and physical space in school. The placement and division of duties of teachers, on the other hand, were operated individually by lots of schools. In the case of the curriculum, some were integrated operation in extracurricular areas, student official events and club management, rather than in subject areas. Like this, this study suggests practical problems and improvements such as efficient operation and curriculum, management in faculty, school administration and accounting, educational facilities, and laws and institutions of integrated operation schools by discussing current issues on integrated operation schools through analysis of current status of elementary and middle integrated schools.

영상처리를 위해서는 압축된 형식의 영상보다는 원본 영상을 주로 사용한다. 따라서 영상처리를 위한 영상 저장의 경우에는 영상 압축을 적용하지 않은 원본의 영상을 저장해야 하므로 많은 용량의 영상 데이터를 짧은 시간에 저장해야 한다. 또한 2대 이상의 카메라를 동기화하여 영상을 획득할 경우에는 더 많은 저장 용량과 저장 속도가 지원되어야 한다. 본 논문은 대용량의 동기화된 영상을 실시간으로 저장하는 소프트웨어의 구현에 대한 내용이다.

In this work, we present the experimental investigation on the contact resistance of graphene/single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) junction using transfer length method with the simple equivalent circuit model. We find that p–n like junctions are formed in graphene/SWCNT transistors, and the contact resistance in the junction is observed to be ~ 494 and ~ 617 kΩ in case of metallic SWCNT (m-SWCNT) and semiconducting SWCNT (s-SWCNT), respectively. In addition, the contact resistance increases from 617 to 2316 kΩ as Vg increases from − 30 to − 10 V. Through our study, high carrier density induced from doping in both graphene and SWCNT leads to low contact resistance. This development of contact engineering, namely modulation of carrier density in the junction and contact length (Lcon) scaling shows the potential for all-carbon based electronics.
