        Effects of Phenytoin and Diazepam on the Seizure Activity in the Cortical Dysplasia Animal Models

        Dysplasia-associated seizure disorders are markedly resistant to pharmacological intervention. Relatively little research has been conducted studying the effects of antiepileptic drugs(AEDs) on seizure activity in a rat model of dysplasia. We have used rats exposed to methylazoxymethanol acetate(MAM) in utero, an animal model featuring nodular heterotopia, to investigate the effects of AEDs in the dysplastic brain. Pilocarpine was used to induce acute seizure in MAM-exposed and age-matched vehicle-injucted control animals. Field potential recordings were used to monitor amplitude and numbers population spikes, and paired pulse inhibition in response to stimulation of commissural pathway. Two commonly used AEDs were tested: diazepam 5, 2.5mg/kg;phenytoin 40, 60mg/kg. Diazepam(DZP) and phenytoin(PHT) reduced the amplitude of population spike in control and MAM-exposed rats. However, the amplitude of population spike was nearly eliminated in control rats as compared to the MAM-exposed rats. Pharmaco-resistance was tested by measuring seizure latencies in awake rats after pilocarpine administration(320mg/kg, i.p.) with and without pretreatment with AEDs. Pre-treatment with PHT 60 mg prolonged seizure latency in control rats, but not in MAM-exposed animals. The main findings of this study are that acute seizures initiated in MAM-exposed rats are relatively resistant to standard AEDs assessed in vivo. These data suggest that animal model with cortical dysplasia can be used to screen the effects of potential AEDs.

        A thermal imaging system has been developed to measure the temperature on surface, using non-contact temperature sensor. Also, the developed system can monitor the temperature based on Zigbee communication for ubiquitous sensor network. The measurement of temperature was performed on the pot plant depending on the moving speed of frame. The optimal speed for frame movement was 1.4 m/ s. The developed system might provide as a basic study which predict the location of crops according to the difference of temperature between soil and crop.

        As tools to improve productivity and quality, SPC(statistical process control) and Af'Ctautomatic process control) are used in the instrumental process. In process, we know that a statistical control-in is identified with a process of random variables being independently and identically distributedriid). It IS often difficult in practice to attain a statistical control-in because of systematic time series effects like autocorrelation. When the data are autocorrelated In a process, as the diagnosis, we can use ARIMA procedure. In this thesis, a procedure is introduced to diagnose and identify a statistical control-in/out using ARIMA.

        Box-Cox model by HuIten and Wykoff and T-factor method by Elfar and Whelan, adopted the assumptions of the characteristics of capital assets, and are still widely used today even though their assumptions were weak. We improve the Box-Cox model by combining the existing economic efficiency and depreciation pattern, based on the efficiency curve of marginal productivity and reliability function. Thus, Rayleigh curve which has been used for the reliability of current capital assets was chosen as m efficiency curve. As a result, it was possible to classify the efficiency curves into 4 kinds rather than the existing 3, as well as the types of depreciation curves. In this paper, therefore, the power family of the Box-Cox model which was a non-linear regression model would be identified, by utilizing the reliability functions. In addition, Box-Cox model as a linear model to measure economic depredations. Based on these result it is easy to estimate economic depreciations as well as to test depreciation rates.

        The type printing of first Ch'ing dynasty term in China is worthy to be studied because the type printing during that period included metal type, wood type, and clay type as well as the development phase was similar to Chosun dynasty culturally and technologically. This paper studied typography during the first Ch'ing dynasty term, including Shunzhi(1662-1722), Yongaheng(1723-1735), Qianlong(1736-1795), Jiaqing(1796-1820) period. The main results of the study is as follows. 1. The main body of type printing was bookstore, lecture-hall, and individual as well as the royal court that is the centarl government. 2. The content of type edition covers classics, history, philosophy, and literary works. Specifically, even though Wuyingdienjuzhenban series is excluded, the content includes study of the classics, class of the history, class of the philosophy, literature works that include collection works and novel and government official bulletin. 3. The printing technique of bronze type was very popular in Beijing. Jiangsu, and Taiwan. It's scale and production technique was more elaborate than in Ming dynasty. 4. Wood type was very popular in Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Sichuan, and Fujian. In addition to wood type, chinese ware type was applied to book printing in Shandong, However, most of them were wood type and they were used after Qianlong period. 5. The production technique of type was skilled enough to present the fine view of a style of type. The typesetting technique was improved as much as woodblock printing. With regard to the making technology of Chinese ink, the light and darkness of chinese ink was not even sometimes. But, the technology was improved significantly when comparing with the failure experience of printing that chinese ink was not developed in early type invention. 6. In case that the book was printed in bookstore with the intention of profit and the number of book was large, the proofreading attitude was rough. However, overally, it was made correction carefully applying the various methods of proofreading. 7. The support of government made a great contribution in the area of all printing technology, including production, typesetting, and brushing of type

      • 석탄회를 활용한 콘크리트의 성능에 관한 연구

        석탄화력발전과정이 부산물인 석탄회가 사용석탄량의 11∼57%로 생성됨에 따라 이의 처리비용 및 환경보전적 측면에서의 많은 문제점이 야기되고 있어 석탄회의 유효이용에 관한 연구가 절실하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 석탄회를 콘크리트 혼화재로 재활용하기 위한 방안을 강구하고자 석탄회의 발생과정 및 종류, 물리적 및 화학적 특성, 재활용 현황등을 파악하고, 석탄회의 배합혼입률에 따른 콘크리트 재령별 압축강도 특성에 대한 실험연구를 수행하였다. During combustion of powdered coal in modern power plant, coal ash is produced by 11∼57% of resource coal. The coal ash requires a great deal of disposal expense and causes a number of probrems in environmental conservation. It is necessary that researches for utilization of fly ash are required as soon as possible. The goal of this study are to develop a methodology for the utilization of fly ash as a mineral admixture in concrete. This paper presents the performance of concrete using fly ash. Results of the experimental study indicates that fly ash concrete tend to reduce the early compressive strength up to 28 days, but improve the long term compressive strength.

      • 설계강우의 시간적 분포모형 적용성 연구

        위천대표유역의 11녀간의 단독강우사상 3,550개를 선별하여 Yen-Chow의 삼각형 및 사다리꼴, Huff, Pilgrim-Cordery 및 Mononobe의 방법에 의한 지속시간별 설계강우의 시간적분포 특성치를 제시하였다. Yen-Chow 방법의 삼각형분포의 특성치 a 값은 0.44에서 0.50까지 분포하였고, 사다리꼴은 지속시간이 길어질수록 무차원 특성변수 h 의 값이 점차 커지는 경향을 나타내었다. Huff 4분기법에 의한 분석결과는 2구간 강우가 지배적이고 3구간 강우가 낮은 분포를 나타내었다. 또한 Pilgrim-Cordery 방법에서는 6시간까지는 점방위 강우형이고, 6시간이상은 점차 후방위로 변화하였다. Mononobe 방법은 시간별 강우량을 중앙집중형으로 나타내었다. 본 방법들의 적용성을 검토하기 위해 위천유역의 32개 관측 강우-유출자료를 이용하였고, 분석결과 Yen-Chow 방법의 삼각형분포가 비교적 재현성이 높게 나타났다. 이들 설계강우의 시간적분포모형들은 미계측유역의 유출해석에 중요한 수단을 제공할 것으로 판단된다. The historical data from 3,550 event storms during 11 years in Wi-stream basin have been used to investigate the statistical parameter of the time distribution for design storms by the method of Yen-Chow, Huff, Pilgrim-Cordery and Mononobe. The dimensionless value of triangular hyetograph, a , ranges from 0.44 to 0.50 and trapezoidal hyetograph, h , value increases as the duration time is getting longer in Yen-Chow method. In the Huff, the second-quartile storms occurred most frequently and third-quartile storms occurred most infrequently. In the Pilgrim-Cordery, the shapes for shorter than 6-hour durations are advanced tendency. However, for longer than 6-hour durations show delayed tendency. In the Mononobe, every one hour rainfall occured Centered Type. The application of these methods for each duration time was tested by using the observed rain-fall-runoff data of Wi-stream basin. As a result, the reappearance of hydrographs of triangular hyetograph by Yen-Chow method showed promising, and it was approved to be used for prediction of the ungaged basins.

      • 생체 인식 정보 검출을 위한 Watershed 기반 Texture 병합에 관한 연구

        this paper presents the method that extracts by using watershed algorithm the area which is available for the feature factor in the iris. The inputted image is preprocessed and transferred to the texture block pattern by Polar Coordinate System Transformation. In this paper, the iris feature area is extracted from the image of Texture Block Pattern using Watershed Algorithm. The extracted area is indexed by average value and size of the feature area. After the position information of the feature area is rearranged by Polar Coordinate System Inverse-Transformation. In result, the proposed method showed that is possible to extract the definite iris feature.

        바닥공조시스템과 천장공조시스템의 실내환경 비교 평가

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the indoor environment of office building with underfloor air distribution system and ceiling based air conditioning system. The underfloor air distribution system was introduced to use access floor and aim to economical motive such as reducing floor to height level. Researches were not sufficient to preserve the characteristics between ceiling based air conditioning system and underfloor air distribution system. Experiments have been carried out to indoor environment in the summer and winter. As the result, thermal environment of the underfloor air distribution system is better than ceiling based air conditioning system in the winter. Ventilation effectiveness of the underfloor air distribution system is bigger than ceiling based air conditioning system.
